No real rating-
I have appreciated this author's work in the past and unfortunately, this book did not live up to my past experiences.
I know she will do others which will work better.

Another great read from Katy with a bit of a twist as the heroine is the powerful rich woman and the hero is the poor struggling but gorgeous guy. It is more often the reverse in Katy's books.

Lizzy is heiress to her Father's fashion company, but she wants to become it's CEO when her Father retires. Unfortunately no matter how hard she works to be the perfect daughter her Father refuses to recognise her talents and thinks that she should be occupied doing "women's work" rather than working in his company. Finally he agrees to give her the opportunity to launch their best ever clothing line.

Lizzy meets with her list of successful businessmen who she is hoping to hire to model the clothes but finds that none of them are interested. After leaving her last meeting she needs a drink and finds herself in front of a seedy bar in a not so nice part of town. There she meets daredevil Jimmy Rowan who will do anything for a paid dare. Lizzy is totally spellbound with him and decides to make him an offer he cant refuse, to be the face of the new Banks line.

This is a fun romp that is hot and sexy as Lizzy tries to make this rough guy into a perfect and stunningly hot model. It is really hilarious as James fights with her over being shaved and being made over but still mostly does as she says while at the same time trying to get her into bed. Although James is not the kind of guy she has dated before she is having a hard time keeping her hands off him and remaining professional.

These two obviously have feeling for each other, but will Lizzie go against her Father's wishes and fall in love with this rough diamond? and will the transformed James want her once he has had a taste of fame. You have to finish this book to find out.

As with all Katy's books I really enjoyed reading this one and highly recommend it.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING!!
Katy Evans never ceases to amaze me. She out does herself with every book she writes. I have been a HUGE fan of her work since first meeting The Remington Tate, in Real, and I have loved her ever since.

After being in a book slump for so long, reading Million Dollar Devil was like a breath of fresh air. I couldn’t have put this book down even if I wanted to. So brilliantly written and captivating, I was glued to the pages.

Million Dollar Devil is easily one of the greatest books I have had the pleasure of reading. It has quickly become a favourite of mine, and has earned it spot in the top best reads this year. Well done Katy!!

Like with all Katy’s characters, the chemistry was there in full force. My heart felt like it was pounding out of my chest from the angst, and oh...how I LOVE the angst. Nobody does it better.

5 ++++ STAR REVIEW FOR MILLION DOLLAR DEVIL 😈
Author Katy Evans

ARC received from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve been a huge Katy Evans fan since the release of her Manwhore series - so I was so thrilled that NG & Montlake Romance gave me the opportunity to review this outstanding read.

Let’s start with the cover which for me is always a big draw. As a reader it’s one of the first things that really grabs your attention as well as the brief synopsis. I will say this cover model is Jimmy / James Rowan. The simplicity of the black & white photo & book title “ in Devil red “ no less is perfection !

This is the story of Elizabeth ( Lizzy ) Banks heiress to the Banks LTD fortune. Dutiful daughter always searching for her strict father’s approval & she desperately wants this when she is put in charge to launch their brands new men’s ware division. Ultimately her goal is to become CEO of the company when her father retires. So being put in charge of this major endeavor will have a HUGE impact on her career.

Lizzy is striking out big time trying to find a new fresh face for their clothing line when she literally stumbles into Tim’s Bar where she finds “the one” in Jimmy Rowan YouTube sensation ( he’ll pretty much do anything for a dare ) Crazy as it sounds she gets the idea that he could be her diamond in the rough - someone to polish to perfection to become the Banks Menswear line new model & spokesperson.

Jimmy will do anything for a dare & he is instantly attracted to Lizzy ! After she ups her offer to 1 Million dollars he can’t say no & so begins this incredible story ! As with most of this authors work you absolutely fall in LOVE with her characters.

JImmy / James Rowan may be far from perfect - but he is perfect for Lizzy!

Amazing read could not put this book down !

HEA guaranteed ❤️ ❤️

I had a hard time believing this story. My first issue was that James and Lizzy were such dissimilar characters, I didn't believe they would have anything in common to sustain a relationship. I did not like how James's diction made him seem like an unintelligent jerk. I also did not believe the plot line. I immediately thought that a good way to go for the suit line was make an ordinary man extraordinary. Why would Lizzy even consider millionaires as models? Lame. Then Lizzy's father did a complete 180 at the end. All of a sudden he was understanding, loving and so proud of her? No thanks...this author is not for me.

Elizabeth Banks lives to please her father, so she does not want to disappoint him when she decides to look for a model for the new line of formal menswear. But instead of getting a millionaire, Elizabeth gets James Rowan who is dedicated to performing risky physical challenges on YouTube in exchange for money.

The story starts well, and I liked it at first, but then she continues playing up with her zero self-esteem and becomes an unbearable character.

James, you are an awesome character man. James is (view spoiler)

quote:
He laughs, moistens his lips, and shakes his head. “I might be poor, lady, but my pride’s rich as Midas, and I don’t beg.”
“Beg? For what?”
“Sex, money, you name it.”
“I never said you did.”
“You’re saying cash is my language when clearly it’s more yours than mine. And I can talk Dollar just fine, like I said, but I have other interests too.

Elizabeth dear, you kill the story. I can't sympathize with you. You are selfish and stupid. You want to sell the cake it, put it on fine fondue, have a piece of the cake and ended ruin it for all.

quote: (Elizabeth:) I took him out of the garbage and made him who he was.
No, Lizzy he was not in the garbage and James is not garbage. You are a stupid poor rich heiress . That really made me so mad.

At least Charlie is a child with his ideas(view spoiler)

Sorrynotsorry. Is totally you, book.

*This is an ARC and has some typos pretty visible like the incomplete letter LL.

I love Katy Evan's writing and her books are amazing. However, I had a little mixed feelings about this one. I felt like it started strong but then lost its momentum towards the end of the book.

Of course I will keep reading her books because she is a great writer!

Well, I almost didn’t finish this book. Picked it up and down a few times. I was a tad ticked that I was 20% in before it really started. Wasn’t a fan for the constant sexual innuendos. I just wanted the story to get going.

Finally it does and there are some really good parts.

I wish Charlie was involved more.

Would I recommend this book? Probably not. While there is definite potential, I am left wanting a more deeper story. Dig more into her Mom. Why was his office in a bar?????? Why didn’t he do more to help Charlie than fight???

Yeah no..I was disappointed in this book, I was excited when I read the blurb but I didn't that is what we got. I was bored with these characters, and I wasn't crazy about Lizzy at all I think she had a split personality with how much she changed her opinion. Yeah getting off of this train, not worth me finishing it, it bored me that much.

James is the epitome of swoon-worthy, and Lizzy is everything a heroine should be: strong, smart, and kind. They are perfect for each other, and while she thinks it can’t happen, when it does, it’s magnificent. Just a really great book!

Thanks to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Four stars.

Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks is described as a "good girl who has never gotten into trouble." All she wants to do is prove to her father that she is more than capable of being the CEO of Banks Limited when he retires. She is in charge of the new men's suit launch and when all the models she interview for the position turn her down, she finds YouTube daredevil, James "Jimmy" Rowan, in a bar.

James is rough around the edges. He is blunt, sexy and completely irresistible. I loved everything about his character. He is instantly attracted to Lizzy and he lets her know it. Jimmy signs a three month contract to be the face of Banks Ltd. Lizzy is to turn his rough edges into a smooth Bank Ltd worthy man.

Katy Evans is always a must read for me. This was a slow burn romance with a rich heroine and average hero. I enjoyed the dual POV with the short chapters. Some reviews have mentioned that they didn't like Lizzy. I didn't get that feeling. She was raised by a rich father who paid for (and still does) everything for her. I didn't feel that she was "showy" about it. It was just the way she was raised and all she knew. Now her best friend, I couldn't stand. If you are in the mood for a quick, sexy read check this one out.

I love me some Katy Evans. This book!!!! I absolutely loved Jimmy/James right from the start.
If you have read Ms Evans before then you know there's little drama and it gets resolved quick. This book was hot and just oh so good.

Thanks Montlake for the Arc

**Not apart of my review anywhere besides NetGalley. I understand this is an uncorrected proof and will change before publication - I'd just like to mention it was difficult to determine the internal dialogue from the text messages between characters. Even spacing or text change would be a big help.**

First, I love the cover. Absolutely love it - the black and white with the pop of red. It's a cover I would see while scrolling thru Amazon, that would pique my interest to check out the blurb.
Okay, so we've all read a book with the Billionaire/Millionaire Hero, who meets the poor heroine and spark fly. I mean I could list at least ten books with that in seconds.
Million Dollar Devil was the opposite of that popular storyline - which I liked!
Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks is the daughter of CEO Harold Banks of Banks LTD. She's wealthy, beautiful and quick-witted. Her only downfall in my eyes is her need to please her father and prove herself. Which wouldn't usually be a bad thing but with this story, I felt like she was just so blinded and said a lot of cruel things in her pursuit to please.
James "Jimmy" Rowan is a YouTube daredevil that will do almost any bet for cash. I liked his profession, it was new and something I haven't read before. I liked the relationship he had with his little brother and friend Luke, it made him more likeable for me.
I felt that these characters lacked chemistry, I didn't connect with them as much as I hoped I would. Don't get me wrong it was a well-written book and one I don't regret reading, I just didn't feel the these-characters-belong-together pull.
Overall I liked this story but I didn't love it. My interest level was kind of all over the place, the storyline would get interesting and then boring fast. It was very hot and cold.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy to read and give my honest opinion.

What a devilish delight! Lizzy Banks wants to make this years lineup for her fathers company the BEST ever so that her father will finally notice her, and let her CEO the company after he retires. All she needs to do is hire the perfect man. After she goes through a list of pig headed men who are after more dollar signs than her budget will allow, she runs into a devilishly handsome guy. Although rugged, she is sure she can polish him up and no one will be the wiser. James Rowan, the devilishly handsome man has plenty of other ideas of what they can do together!

What did I like? The INSANE chemistry between James and Lizzy is so HOT! James just presented himself as such a likable guy or is it lickable!

Would I buy this book? Yes, I loved it and it would make a great loaner. If I hadn't received an ARC I would have definitely bought this title. It was so good.

Thoughts for the author? I really enjoyed this book and LOVED it. Thanks for making James such a hot book boyfriend!

Elizabeth has tried hard to please her father her whole life. Unfortunately, he's hard to please and hard on her partly because she's a woman. She's determined to find the perfect man to model her father's new men's clothing line but when all the best models say no Elizabeth has to look outside the box. James is a YouTube sensation who will do anything for a payday. He's raising his younger brother so he has to work hard to keep a roof over their heads. When "Lizzie" sees James in a dive bar she ducks in to get out of the rain, she's captivated by his looks and physique even though he definitely needs a hair cut and shave. Turning "Jimmy" into the perfect men's model is a job but she's sure she can do it. Thus begins a crazy relationship between the two that ends with them being more alike than different. Enjoyable romance.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4.5 Dare Devil Stars
Enjoyable, predictable, slow burn. I just loved rough around the edges James ‘Jimmy’ Rowan, I had no idea how Elizabeth Banks could show so much restraint around him, he was sex personified, both before and after she ‘tweaked’ him. When Lizzy decides to create a supermodel from scratch she had no idea how successful she would be. The question is, is it all going to blow up in her face? Wonderful writing (dual POV), sexy, yet vulnerable main characters, off the charts chemistry between Said characters. Just do ‘it’ already! Additional characters added to the mix are a rather annoying and uptight father, and a too cute for words little brother, along with a whole host of others I could ramble on about. All these things kept me hooked from the first chapter. Highly enjoyable, entertaining read.

I think the premise of the story was interesting, and I looked forward to reading how everything would play out. However, it felt a bit monotone to me. I couldn't really get into the story, I was reading without being engaged with the characters. Especially, Lizzy Banks was someone I could not relate to or find sympathetic. I also didn't like the whole transforming the daredevil into a gentleman. I think it was a bit too much in regards to marketing men's suits. The attraction between Lizzy and James was there from the start but the hot and cold attitude of Lizzy got old quick. I didn't really connect or care about their relationship. They didn't feel like a good match. Also the drama towards the end was a bit too much and that didn't help the story for me either.

On the other hand, James was a very intriguing and great hero, I think I would've enjoyed reading about him in a different book and with a different heroine. He has gone through some very horrible things and does his best to take care of his younger brother. The scenes where he was in his natural environment were more interesting to me. The scenes where he was together with Lizzy, didn't grab me as much.

There are many books I read and loved by Katy Evans, especially her more emotional ones. But there are a couple of them I just won't pick up because I know I won't like it. It really is a matter of taste, and I should've known I wouldn't like this one. Honestly, Million Dollar Devil was just not my cup of tea. It was more on the light and fun side, and for me those reads are mostly a hit or miss. Unfortunately, it was a miss this time, and maybe I wasn't in the right mood. So please if this book sounds like something you would enjoy reading, then I definitely recommend you to pick it up.

I have mixed feeling about this book. This is also my first time reading a book by Katy. It started out pretty strong but then lost its momentum towards the end. I really loved James/Jimmy's character though! I really kept rooting for him.

**3.5 Stars**

I went into this book blind and was immediately intrigued with the story line and where the story would go. Unfortunately, something was kind of missing for me.

I struggled a lot in the first half of the book with staying invested in the story and I had a difficult time connecting with either of the main characters. I found that I enjoyed the second half of the book more, but still feel like this one missed the mark for me.
