5 MILLION DOLLAR STORY!! Katy Evans has done it again with the perfect story to keep you turning pages. James is perfection in everyway possible. Lizzy is so strong, beautiful and knows what she wants. These two have so much chemistry they will heat your Kindled up. If you love great writing and perfect characters, here you go.

When I went into this book I had very high hopes and expectations. I am a huge fan of Katy Evans other novels, so of course I had to read Million Dollar Devil. Although this novel was certainly not my favourite of Katy's I did enjoy her take on the "beauty and the beast."

Lizzy Banks is the big city, rich girl. Or... that is what she may appear at first glance. As you keep reading, and getting deeper into her story, you realize she is anything but. She is smart, and intelligent. She works hard for everything she has. She doesn't sit back and let others do her work, instead, she takes charge and and will do whatever it takes to prove that she is just as hard working as others.

James was certainly sexy and he knew it. He was always so confident in everything he did and said. He was never afraid to speak his mind, or let others know what he thought. He certainly wasn't shy in letting Lizzy know exactly what he thought of her, and what he wanted to do to her. Yet, he was always so sweet and honestly respectful of Lizzy and what her boundaries and expectations were. Despite this, he comes from a very different world than Lizzy. Where she is bathed in luxury and expensive goods, James comes from a hard working background, where nothing is handed to him.

I really enjoyed Katy's portrayal of Lizzy and James. Individually, they are two wonderful characters. Together, they have explosive chemistry. Thought the entire novel, I was constantly wondering if they were ever going to get together, or whether or not we would just have to deal with the steamy sexual tension between them.

One thing about this book that did slightly bother me, was the constant back and forth bickering. One minute Lizzy totally wanted James, and then the next, she acted like she wanted nothing to do with him. This constant "I want him"... "I don't want him" went on throughout the entire book. I wish some of this was removed from the book, so that it wasn't so repetitive.

4/5 Stars!

Unfortunately this was a DNF at 20%. I couldn't get into the characters--they came off very immature and unrelatable.

I ama fan of Katy Evans. This book was good but not my favorite of hers. I liked the premise of the book. It started off good, but then, it got repetitive. Any my problem was, why was everyone so hard on Jimmy?? He seemed to be a nice guy who took care of everyone. Did they really have to hide who he was outside of the suit guy??

Katy Evans could write a dang manual for a boring tool and I would totally read it y'all. I'm not saying I'm addicted to her words but yeah, scratch that, I'm totally addicted but its only the good kind of addiction. I've been a huge fan since early on and I swear her writing has only progressed and has become more unstoppable and more unputdownable in the best kinds of ways.

Katy has a brand new series with a brand new standalone and a brand new cast of characters and y'all, it's totally one you. do. not. want. to. miss. Million Dollar Devil is the first book up and what a book this was. James and Lizzy gave me quite the journey and totally stole my heart by the end.

She needs him and they need to keep it professional but that's getting harder and harder to do with each unforgettable moment. Sexy. Intense. Unique with an intriguing storyline that kept me hooked and racing through the pages until the very last word... this book was so so so so so so good and y'all, I'm crazy excited for the next.

If you haven't picked this book up by now then I'm not sure we can even be friends anymore... and once you experience the epicness of Katy you won't forget it.

I highly recommend this book.

I'm a fan of Katy's books and have been looking forward to this read but it didn't consume me like I was hoping for. I did enjoy this book, James "Jimmy" was a cocky, sexy, flirty YouTube daredevil that caught the attention of Elizabeth the gorgeous, sweet, heiress looking for the next face of her father's company. These two were full of witty banter and explosive chemistry that you felt in every interaction, yet Lizzy tried to fight the connection at every turn until she couldn't. Plus you get the added bonus of Charlie, Jimmy's younger brother whom you can't help but fall for and the one person he protects at all costs! What happens when you fall for the one person you shouldn't? You'll have to read to find out!

I enjoyed reading Million Dollar Devil. Elizabeth Banks is vying for CEO of her fathers company. She feels that he doesn’t trust her to run it because she isn’t a man. While looking for the new face of the company’s new suit line, she meets Jimmy. Jimmy is a rough around the edges daredevil who gets paid to do stunts on YouTube. He’s also been raising his much younger brother since their parents died. He’s a very good looking guy, she just needs to teach him how to be a gentlemen. Jimmy aka James and Elizabeth are attracted to each other, but have to learn to mix their life styles to have their relationship work. I think Elizabeth found out a lot about herself when she was spending time with James. She learns what is important in life, and it isn’t her fathers approval.

It’s always a good day to have a new Katy Evans book on your ereader. Her possessive alphas get me every damn time. James … sigh. But somehow, MILLION DOLLAR DEVIL missed the mark to become another favorite for me. I blame Lizzy, the heroine and heiress to her father’s company, for that. That woman infuriated me, frustrated me and made me want to punch some sense into her more times than I could count. I guess I’m over romance where a woman constantly fights an undeniable attraction and acts kind of childish every turn… There are very rarely heroines that annoy me, but Lizzy most definitely did. Sadly. Because I absolutely ADORED James!! Sexy, flirty, cocky with strong playboy-tendencies. He oozed charisma and charm, that plus his banter and his winking towards Lizzy – and I was a goner. Swoon! He saved the story for me and has me giving this story 4 stars instead of 3. Next one will be a hit for me again, I’m sure!

Katy Evans' books always offer something special and this one is no exception. First I would like to say this cover is just delish and captures our hero James perfectly. This is a contemporary stand-alone that I would describe as Pygmalion-ish with a gender reversal ( think My Fair Gentleman rather than My Fair Lady and you get the picture). No bet involved here ( as in the traditional version) but there is money and quite a bit more at stake. The highlight of this book for me was James. He was swoony, loyal, thoughtful and oh so sexy. I didn't warm up to our wealthy heroine, Elizabeth, as quickly or as thoroughly. Kinda wished she had stood up to her controlling father sooner in the book. When all was said and done though, she does proclaim her love for James despite ( or maybe because of) who he was before being molded into million dollar model material. One of my favorite things about the story is that James and Elizabeth really see each other. Past the facades and expectations of others. I loved watching Elizabeth "let her hair down" and let James into her life and into her heart. Million Dollar Devil was on the lighter side for this writer compared to previous offerings and that was just fine by me. The writing was there and I enjoyed it. One of the things I love most about her writing is the first kiss between the hero and heroine. Nobody writes a first kiss like Katy Evans. No. Body. I anticipate it every time I pick up one of her books. She is the Master of the First Kiss! This is a great summer read with an intriguing premise and uber-sexy hero! And lots of kissing, of course!

All Lizzie needed was the perfect man. One man who could encompass everything the new men's clothing line called for. A man of power, finesse, looks, and unrelenting sex appeal.

She was the only child to a man who demanded perfection. This was her chance to finally assert herself and prove to her dad just because she was a woman did not mean she was not capable of running their mega-corporation. Meeting Jimmy in the middle of her despair at not finding such a man seemed like a miracle. He had the looks but could this diamond in the rough be groomed in just a few days to be the image of the clothing line?

Jimmy is a daredevil in pursuit of his next buck. With a younger brother to feed and clothe, risking his life was nothing compared to the possibility of going hungry or being homeless. Any bet was worth the risk. One million dollars for three months' work was just what he needed, even if that meant wearing a suit and tie every day. But could he survive the insane attraction he felt for Lizzie?

Endearing and sweet, this book made my day!

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.

5 star

This story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.

This is Lizzie and James’s story. Lizzie is trying to please her father but with the men she must interact with that is hard. She decides she will try and mold her man. She comes up with an offer that James just can’t refuse. I really liked James. But at times Lizzie was annoying and/or was able to turn off the attraction and chemistry to server her purposes. James is dealing with a lot and has a past that might not past muster but is willing to help out how he can. But is molding a man really even possible when deep down the man is still the same man from the beginning? Changing the outside does not change the inside.

I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book.

“Dream with me.”

Can’t find the perfect man for you new ad campaign? No problem for Lizzy Banks...she’ll just find a diamond in the rough and make him into the perfect man. She has no choice, because everything she has worked for is riding on the success of this campaign. Failure is not an option.

James Rowan is just a rough around the edges guy getting by with his stunt videos. He’s got his own following and he’s willing to do just about any stunt on video to make some cash.

The day Lizzy walks into the bar he frequents, life as he knows it is about to change. She’s about to make him an offer he won’t be able to refuse. All he has to do is become the perfect gentleman for a few months and then cash in on the big payday.

James’ only problem is that he’s more interested in the woman behind the offer, than he is in the cash!

This story is a slow burn. It has all the sexy and a man no woman can resist. Lizzy and James are an inevitable explosion! James definitely delivers as the dirty talking alpha. He knew what he wanted and was willing to make the effort to break through Lizzy’s walls. The story had an incredible sexual tension and sweet moments. Total opposites that ended up being the perfect match.

I love Katy's Books FOR YEARS, BUT this time I didn't read this author that I know so long.

I was trying to dive in this story with all my heart but something was missing. I will still love Katy and her stories obviously, but it looks like Million Dollar Devil wasn't for me.

Lizzie needed a man and not just any man. She needed a man to become the face of her company and with so much riding on her decision to succeed. He was unlike all the interviews she had conducted. His first redeeming quality was he could save her and help her achieve what she has worked so hard for. Helping each other becomes more than they ever imagined. The Million dollar devil is worth everything and more!

As always Katy Evans gives us a sizzling unique story that I found I could not put down. I loved the concept and was totally engrossed from the first page. I enjoyed Lizzy's character but I LOVED Jimmy. He honestly gives Remy a run for his money and he has been my boy since he was released. There are great ups and downs and I enjoyed every moment!

I read this in like 3 hours today. I started it and was completely sucked in. I feel like I should expect that with a Katy Evans, But I somehow forgot and this book kindly reminded me with a prologue that left me swooning.

This romance literally had so much angst I thought I would combust while reading. I swear I haven’t read a book that had me so wound up with anticipation that I wanted to just jump in and throw a match because the chemistry between the characters literally could start a fire.

I know. That sounds like a lot, but I truly love books that I get squirmy and excited while reading and Lizzy and James were exactly that. I laughed with them and I completely fell in love with their story. Katy crafts a romance in suits that I completely was hoping for and completely wasn’t prepared for at the same time.

This is one of those books that I swear I kept thinking certain things were going happen and then BAM, something completely different happened.

It was great. I can’t wait to read more in this world!

So...I can see that this book has had a lot of negative reviews, but I rather enjoyed it! Maybe I'm easily pleased?!

"This guy isn't hot, he's more like...raw and primal. The sexiest guy I've ever met."

Elizabeth AKA Lizzy Banks is desperate to impress her impossible father. In her desperation, she decides on a crazy plan to play Pygmalion on a guy who's the opposite of anyone she's ever known...but is the most compelling man she's ever met. When she turns this sow's ear into a stunning silk purse, she finds herself confused, turned on, and falling hard.

"More than ever tonight, my hands itched with the need to touch her. My tongue feels restless in my goddamn mouth with the need to lick her."

James AKA Jimmy Rowan would do anything for a bet. He's keen to overcome his circumstances and give his younger brother a life without hardship or fear. When the beautiful Elizabeth comes into his orbit, he's hooked by her looks, but also by her lucrative proposal. When his sexual attraction develops into something deeper, he wonders if he's worthy enough to fit in her world.

"I've fallen in love with my own creation. I polished a diamond, and now it's flawless. But it's not mine to keep."

I really enjoyed this story! It was SUPER SEXY! I loved the instant chemistry between the main characters - there was no denying how fiery they were together. I loved how Jimmy brought out the naughty girl in Lizzy, and also made her feel comfortable and able to be her true self with him. I loved how Elizabeth brought out the finer James, and also his desire to be more than the sum of his parts. I also loved how much she actually appreciated the man who always was - she didn't like to think that she'd changed him...she'd just improved him.

"Lizzy inspired me. She inspired me right out of Tim's Bar, because I had a feeling about her."

James/Jimmy is a solid guy. He's is certainly a diamond in the rough. His morals may be a little loose but underneath it all, his heart is in the right place, and he does the crazy things he does for an admirable reason. Elizabeth/Lizzy is a girl crying out for her father's love and attention, and going about it all in the wrong way. She's found it hard to do anything but obey her father, and it took a lot for her to finally stand up to him.

Overall, an enjoyable, sexy, easy read.

A war of opposites has never been so sexy. I think I fell in love with this unique story on page one. Elizabeth and James are one of my favourite couples because they exude chemistry like a pheromone-charged perfume.

He is rough around the edges and a little wild, but still a walking monument to male beauty. It really surprised me that he's more than brawn and brag, he's got a noble spirit that I relished along with his powerful magnetism. Like a man made of chocolate for a sugar-deprived woman.
That takes me to Elizabeth. I loved her character! She's a lady, smart and driven and knowledgeable, and also vulnerable, torn between her need to prove herself to her father and this sudden, liberating crave to love freely in a totally unprecedented way.

So they embark on this secret mission to sculpt a street-wise daredevil into the perfect man of modern sophistication. I loved this part. It's a fantastic, sensual, fun, provoctive rendition of the My Fair Lady concept, but it's the man who's created to perfection. The transformation is molten hot. I loved James' incorrigible pursuit of the woman he wants while being raw, sexy and admirable at once. The passion between them really engulfed my senses. And all thanks to this writing style that is so sensual and can really conjure all the irresistible manliness of James is.

After the business and media frenzy, there's a part of the story where the romane derails a bit to my liking, going into colder regions of separation, where hearbreak and betrayal and public outrage reign. I wasn't too much of a fan of that as it seemed over-the-top crazy. And that's why I lost touch with the characters, he lets something happen that I would consider disloyal and she just goes against everything she's been fighting for so long.

However, it truly makes up for all of it with a Romeo and Juliet finale bursting with romantic and freeing resolutions that made me happy again <3
