This is a lovely story. Fern has a market stall selling vintage clothing, something she has always wanted to do. She meets David who she more or less falls for immediately but he has a girlfriend and there's not much chance for a Fern.
An older woman,Dinah also comes into Fern's life. She has collected clothes for years, vintage clothes back when they weren't called vintage. Fern then meets her husband who is a tailer and doesn't want to stop working. Dinah and her husband seem to have a perfect relationship. He calls her "his bride" which is lovely, but there is a secret between them and it's going to do a lot of damage.
Fern's mum is a complete pain, but Fern is living in an apartment owned by her parents nd has to put up with her mum's criticism and put downs.
I enjoyed this book. There were laughs and sad moments too. The descriptions of the vintage clothes were so vivid I could see them hanging on Fern's stall. And David? Well he is lovely!

Will post on Amazon and my blog on publication day .

This was an okay read for me, the overall story was good but I didn’t really get drawn in, I found myself skimming through the story. Had a nice ending

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. How I could relate to this book and also to Fern about how she feels and what she does. A real uplifting read,.

Cute read about random acts and how we are all interconnected. (Does a good deed ever go unpunished? I’d like to think karma doesn’t think so!) I liked the main character (Fern) and the supporting cast. But I really enjoyed Kim!

(Will post to Goodreads/ Amazon once published)

Thank you to Avon and Netgalley for the reader copy of this book in return for an unbiased review.

A Random Act of Kindness was an enjoyable, easy read following the story of Fern and her friendship with an older woman. It was heart warming and affirmative, However, I didn't really feel I connected with any of the characters as they lacked depth.
Despite this, is it a good read.

A Random Act of Kindness is a sweet and hopeful story filled with nice and unusual characters.
Written with very unconventionally, with atypical theme for chick lit , vintage fashion, and the way that said fashion connects our protagonist Fern and all distinctive side characters.

It's quick read filled with charming and also every day things that shape our life. The theme of the book beside fashion is this notion that every one of our action has a consequence and how that consequence when turned bad shouldn't discourage us of being kind to each other......because even random, small things and acts can change and effect our life...for the better.

For a book that takes on such a deep meaning still felt flat and shallow at times. Also I had hard time caring and connecting with the characters. Overall I felt detached from the story line.

It is my first read of this author.
Thanks to NetGalley for the copy of the book.
I will post my review on Goodreads closer to the release date.

A very enjoyable, quirky story for lovers of vintage fashion. A collection of random characters who bond over an appreciation of fashion and create firm friendships. Lovely descriptions of vintage fashion items throughout.
My only quibble would be that the ‘random acts of kindness’ was not really the most appropriate title, Those words felt clunky when they appeared in chapters, like they were added into existing passages to suit a new title. The book is about so much more and not what the title had led me to expect. Heartwarming and fun read.

I enjoyed this book but felt like the storyline and content was a little thin.
It lacked depth and detail.
However it is a perfect read for a chilling holiday book

This is the first time I have read a book by Sophie Jenkins, so I didn’t know what to expect. Overall, I loved reading this book! The plot is charming and left me feeling encouraged.

It only takes a moment, to change a life forever…

Fern is too busy making sure other people feel good about themselves to give much thought to her own happiness. But somehow, without her noticing, life has run away from her.

Suddenly, Fern realizes her vintage clothes business is struggling, and the casual relationship she’d always thought she was happy it doesn’t look so appealing.

But sometimes, karma really does come through. And when Fern goes out of her way to help 85-year-old Dinah, little does she realize their new friendship will change her life.

Dinah may have troubles in her past, but she’s lived and loved to the full. Can Dinah show Fern that even the smallest acts of kindness can make the world a better place?

I do believe even a book as this can change a life, or your view. I loved it. Fern and DInah.
