Loved the cover, which initially drew my attention to this book. An enjoyable read, but there was something about this book that didn't quite meet my expectations. I am not going to write what the story is about, as i prefer one to read the book for themselves. It is the first time that i have read a book by this author and would like to read more.

I just finished reading Path of Injustice by Beverley Hansford. I LOVED this book. From the begining it pulls you in. The story is quicked paced. I do believe that this is the fastest I have ever read a book. I know understand the saying a book you can't put or you will lose sleep over!!! This book tells you the story of Daintry and how spitefullness can change your life in the blink of an eye. The story is wonderful and the author tells you the story straight forward. This book never drags on. At the same time it gives you all the information about all the charaters you want or need. The only thing is and i feel this way about a lot of books i think it is just the reader in me!!! I wish we got a little more happliy ever after info at the end!!! Although i do love that Daintry and Conrad's happliy ever after was not immediate. For me that would have rang false. I also think that for all the bad that happens we get the goodness in just the right spots. A little goodness goes a long way during suffering. The last thing I would like to say without giving to much of the story away is about Mela. Mela is Daintry's older sister. I'm still having a hard time forgiving her. If i was Daintry I don't think I could have forgiven her!!! But true to Daintry's form she forgives her sister. I do like how the author shows us Mela's thinking and remorse. I think that is what makes her forgivable at all. But when Mela has the chance when she goes back into the church she has a chance to tell the pastor that she lied and she still doesn't and then puts Daintry in danger again!!! Also in the beginning I find it hard to believe that Mela didn't know how bad the things she was accusing Daintry of doing were and that she was putting Daintry's life in danger. This book was great!!!

A wonderful historical romance with a mixture of love and adventure! Daintry is a young lady with dreams of a future with her childhood sweetheart. Having a compassionate heart, Daintry tries to help her ailing father by obtaining an herbal potion but is accused of witchcraft by doing so. Facing a sentence of death, Daintry is relieved when the sentence is lifted. Although her relief is short lived when she becomes a prisoner working in the dreaded silver mines of Katangar. Love and courage are the only things that keep Daintry moving forward with the hopes of a miracle so she can be reunited with her betrothed and family once again. This is the first book I have read by author Beverley Hansford but it will not be my last. I look forward to reading more from this talented author!

Thanks to Net Galley for this ARC. This is a story of injustice. Reads like a little fairy tale without supernatural elements. I did enjoy the story but it seemed a flat. Little to no descriptions of the places, characters, or their motivation. The female characters spend the book meekly going along with whatever happens around them while the male characters are all about the action. I would recommend this book to a teenager or someone looking for a clean romance.

Oh my gosh...the plight and mistreatments of Daintry Brouka kept me up late at night! I had great difficulty finding good stopping places in this novel and therefore read it until I fell asleep with it in my hands several nights this week! I refuse to give spoilers, but I will say that Daintry seemed to be very unlucky with the chain of events in her life from a wrongful conviction through additional misfortunes along a very long journey to the end of the novel. (I would also say that many other terrible things which could have also happened to her were just barely avoided--indicating that she was not THAT unlucky.) Overall, this was a very engaging and enjoyable/torturous peek into the horrid ways of the past--as well as a symbol of the strength of women in a time period when it was not acknowledged. I would like to see more work from this author!
