Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. This book was what I expected it to be. Steamy and funny in all the right places. I love a good book where a woman finally finds a good man regardless of his age, granted he is over 18! LOL
This is the kind of book that gives people a bad impression of romance. The heroine is an older woman, who also happens to be gorgeous, of course. The hero is a man who is young, handsome and totally besotted with her. Stormy and Sean had zero chemistry, and the whole reason for his devotion to her was never really explained. Sean was kind of stalkerish, and wouldn’t take no for an answer, which is just plain creepy. And Stormy has her own issues, and a truly awful reason for not being close to her three daughters, all of whom forgive her completely of course. I didn’t enjoy this book at all and will not be picking up anything else by the author.
Note: I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I just started reading Joan Reeves and I enjoy her chic rom com books. This is a reprint of a series from years ago. Is age really so important in mid life relationships? Hot woman, hot man, lust, love at first sight, hidden secrets, grown children and friends all interwoven in this the first book in this series. Definitely going on to read the next book. Thank you Joan for bringing back the series.
Need to do some editing on this book!! Granted is older, still, editing wasn’t the greatest.
This book broke my heart!! Poor stormy, she put her faith into men, she assumed would care for her and instead got nothing but heartbreak. Sean, now, I want one of those. I’m glad she got her happy every after, even with a younger man!
I have to admit I struggled to really love this story, it started off quite aggressive in the attraction that the man had in the lady, I think I prefer the back story and build up to when he first saw her. Then the lady had three daughters who were crowbarred into the story and they too have their own back stories which you don't get to learn more about.
The writing was very descriptive but for me I just couldn't get into this book as I would have liked.
Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this in exchange for a honest review.
I found this to be an enjoyable read. Yes, Stormy made mistakes but we all do. The important thing is she accepted responsibility and actively changed her life. It was heartwarming for her to meet a man who recognized and accepted her strengths as well as her weaknesses. They both deserve HEA.
