This is the first book I have read by Alice Feeney and it won’t be the last.
The first couple of pages I wasn’t sure if I was going to like how it was written then I got hooked.
I enjoyed the fact the book covered two timelines 1988 when Aimee was a young girl and 2017 so we could see how she had become the person she was.
This book has loads of twists and turns and just as you think you might have guessed one you realise you haven’t. I did have to concentrate hard in some parts to make sure I knew what was happening due to all of the twists.
It kept me gripped throughout and I couldn’t put the book down once I’d got into it.
Great book I highly recommend and I will certainly be reading Alice Feeneys other books.
Thank you

I really enjoyed ‘Sometimes I lie’ so was really looking forward to reading this. Unfortunately I found myself willing it on till the end so I could get started on my next book & not in an enjoyable way. I skim read a lot of the second half of the book. I didn’t like the way there were so many ‘twists’ thrown in at the end of the chapters. I didn’t this they were very complex, just a few words thrown in to try & shock the reader. It felt like the book was trying too hard to be twisty and more like a bad soap opera!
I didn’t like the ending & found myself feeling repulsed at what had happened to Aimee. It didn’t sit well with me at all. Unfortunately this book just didn’t click with me & it would put me off buying something from Alice Feeney in the future. Thank you for the opportunity to read & review.

I really enjoyed this - full or twists and turns and really well thought out characters. I love the dual narrative as well, very effective

What a brilliant book. Totally twists and turns and I suspect no one would guess the ending. Two separate timelines separate the book that keep you drawn in and on the edge of your seat to see what happens and how they come together.
Giving too much away is never good in a book like this I will only say do not trust anyone and keep reading - this book twists and turns so quickly.
Highly recommended.

A very clever and exciting book that had me hooked from the start. I really liked the writing and the story and although the ending was a bit fantastical it was still a great ending. What a fabulous imagination Alice Feeney has! I would read more and would recommend this novel.

This is Alice Feeney's second book, my first. I’ve not read her debut but the blurb for this Psychological Thriller drew me in as i begin to read more of this type of book.

Aimee Sinclair ,an up and coming actress, returns home one day to find her husband Ben is missing, but all his belongings, wallet, phone, Passport and Car have been left behind along with a bunch of flowers with a card saying simply the word “ sorry”.

Things start to get stranger when Aimee realises their joint bank account has been drained of over £10,000 and closed. When Aimee tries to find out how and when this was done, she is advised by the bank that she herself did it. She appears to doubt her own Sanity. Did she have something to do with her missing husband? the missing money? is she blocking traumas out as she did as a child?

We soon realise Aimee's marriage was an unhappy one, and the police, In particular D.I Alex Croft seem desperate to find Aimee guilty, Hounding her constantly.

Told in first person by Aimee, it’s written to make you feel very unsettled from the outset, Aimee is not a happy person, she has some secrets to hide.

The book is told in alternating chapters, in the present - 2017 and starting in 1997 where we learn the tale of Aimee’s childhood and discover how she has become who she is.

Whilst the book always feels dark and at times quite chilling , the childhood story in particular is disturbing and at times is uneasy reading and a constant sense of dread is always ith you.

The ending is superb, this will keep you guessing until the end.

Very cleverly written and also really well paced, there is no let off.

It’s just shy of 400 pages, I read this in 2 sittings of near on 200 pages each,it was very enjoyable, I flew through the pages wanting to know, constantly guessing and being wrong, this book is a cracker

Tense, dark at times, quietly disturbing, massively twisty and extremely clever, this is a very good psychological Thriller and probably the best of this Genre i've read this year

Highly Recommended.

4 1/2 solid stars!!
I thought Sometimes I Lie was an excellent debut and would be difficult to follow up BUT I Know Who You Are is an excellent second novel. How Alice Feeney came up with such an intricate and fascinating story is amazing. The story is cleverly crafted between the disappearance of Aimee’s husband in 2017 and her childhood in 1998. What Aimee experienced in her childhood explains her insecurities in her present circumstances. The characters are well portrayed and the plot has many twists and turns. What will she think of next?
Many thanks to Netgalley/Alice Feeney/HQ for a digital copy of this title. All opinions expressed are my own.

I really really enjoyed this! It is not at all what I expected. It starts with a twist on the ‘poor little rich girl’ narrative, but then there’s more twists and turns to come! You’ll have a love/hate relationship with the main character, Amy. A must read for thriller fans who enjoyed the Woman in the Window etc!

A gripping read that I finished in one sitting. Amiee is an actress struggling to come to terms with ghosts from her past when her husband mysteriously disappears. The narration switches between the past and present, as we gradually delve deeper into Aimee’s darkest secrets. I would definitely recommend!

Aimee Sinclair is becoming a rising star in the acting world. However ,her personal life is far from perfect and gets worse after her husband vanishes. The Police are not convinced that she is an innocent party in his disappearance and evidence starts pointing to this being true. However,Aimee’s life is not as it appears and she soon discovers that she isn’t the only one with secrets. She discovers someone else is hell bent on uncovering them too.
It took me a while to really get to grips with this book but eventually I became hooked and as the story unfolded I didn’t want to put it down. Each chapter gave more and more insight in to Aimee’s earlier life and somewhat turbulent childhood. Definitely a good read and intend reading more from this author.

Alice Feeney’s second book has more twists and turns than a big dipper.

The story alternates between Aimee Sinclair’s life in present day and that in the late 1980s when she was 6 years old. There’s quite a cliff hanger at the end of most time switches which makes you keen to read on to get back to the other thread.

Present day Aimee is an up and coming actor who is well-known. She’s married to Ben Bailey who turns out to be not such the nice guy he portrayed during their dating days. One day he disappears...

In 1987 she is living with her father and older brother in Galway, Ireland. Neither are very nice to her and she runs away. She is then kidnapped and becomes part of Maggie and John’s life. Maggie and John run a Betting Shop in a rundown parade of shops in Essex. Maggie is very stern with Aimee but also cares about her. Eventually Aimee becomes a part of their small family and learns to do the things they require of her such as call them Mum and Dad even though they are not her parents.

I am giving this a 4.5, not quite 5 stars as I found some of the plot very unbelievable. The ending had a good twist but then a further unpleasant twist which I found unnecessary, unpleasant and unbelievable.

It was a great read which kept me gripped throughout and I look forward to more novel from this author.

I haven’t read Alice Feeney’s first book (though I will now be doing so!) so wasn’t sure what to expect but the blurb sounded interesting so thought I’d give it a go. I wasn’t disappointed!

This is a brilliant psychological thriller which is alternates between the past and the present. It tells the story of Aimee, who was kidnapped as a child, and now as an adult is an up and coming actress. But then her husband disappears and she is accused of murdering him. And someone keeps sending her notes saying ‘I Know Who You Are’. It is well written and fast paced and I found myself wanting to read just one more chapter, then another, then another! I needed to find out what happened to Aimee in both timelines. I certainly didn’t guess the twist even though I knew something awesome was coming! And I can’t discuss the ending, but wow that certainly made me think!

I really liked Aimee’s childhood timeline and the way she perceived what was going on around her, which she didn’t always understand, though it was sometimes quite disturbing to read. You couldn’t help rooting for her. I also loved the references to all things 80s (Rainbow Brite, She-Ra etc) .

Alice Feeney is an author to watch, and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!

I really enjoyed this book while finding it quite hard to read as wasn't sure what was round each corner. I did not see the end coming and had decided it was someone else! A good read and would recommend.

This is a domestic drama about an actress, Aimee Sinclair, whose husband disappears. The story switches back and forth between present day and Aimee's childhood. The story has some very disturbing moments and is full of events that no one let alone a child should ever have to experience.. Unfortunately I guessed the 'thing' about the husband very, very early on, and that kind of took the shine off the rest of the book for me. Had I not guessed the punchline perhaps I would have enjoyed it more. This is an extremely far fetched story and I wasn't a huge fan, but I would recommend it to fans of domestic drama.

Got me hooked straight away as it dropped you right into a scene where Aimee's husband has gone missing. Within the first few chapters I am suspicious of her. Also there is a story which flicks back to 1987 and at first I thought it was the main female character...then not sure why but something made me unsure, until I found out the name of both characters. Was excited to see how it unfolded and the two stories entwined. Aimee seems quite cold, cut off, but not sure if that is her personality or a product of her ennvironment and past. The more I read the more I get a better understanding of her.

So just over half way through and I'm still intrigued, I like how the plot has been written, this sets scenes perfectly and adds extra layers to the story. Flitting between the present and past until the two collide. It thrills me and feels tense and sets a good pace as you don't want to put it down. You want to find out who is behind all the strange things going on. Things don't add up and this has you guessing!

Nearly read 90% and whilst I want to find out who/what/ why happened to the husband I don't want this book to be over. I have an incline that I may of guessed some of the ending as things start clicking into place as I piece things together.....then the twist is surprising. Never would of guessed! Whatever you think it is, you will be wrong!

Overall brilliantly writen and glad I found this author!

Someone is out to ruin an actress whose star is rising - the finding out of who and why is an absolute thriller of a ride!

Very difficult to review without giving too much away but as with her first book (Sometimes I lie)the writing is razor sharp, its deliciously dark at times and the characters are wonderfully drawn, many who you need to dislike, some you will root for and a child whose innocence will grab your heart! It's compelling and has some utterly brilliant twists, most of which I didn't see coming. I absolutely loved it!!

Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ for the ARC of this book and allowing me to submit my honest unbiased review.

This is not an easy book to read given the story of childhood abuse followed by marital violence and deception throughout by everybody in the caste. There are many strands to the plot which can be confusing to the reader but they do all come together towards the end to make an unexpected climax. The book is well written but there are times when the plot seems too far fetched to be likely.

I just didn't get along with this book, I'm sorry. I found myself skimming from the beginning, omitting the unnecessary details. The writing was over-simplistic.
It's a domestic thriller, and yes there's a twist and all. But, to me it was just so unrealistic with no real motives explained. I'm not convinced with the characters or all turn of events, so just wasn't for me.

Thanks a lot to the publisher and NetGalley for this free copy in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 - 4 stars!

Thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a free copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review!

So this book was on hell of a ride from start to finish and I can’t really pin down how I feel about it. The first 80 to 90 percent of the book could have almost been a 5 star for me but the ending, which came right out of left field and not necessarily in a good way, pulled the score down for me. I couldn’t quite figure out by just how much given how much I enjoyed he rest of the book hence the in between rating.

Aimee was a character I felt for throughout the whole book and given everything she’s been through her actions are more than understandable. The only things I didn’t understand where her choice to keep the baby at the end of the book it seemed like a really bizarre choice and also the insinuation that she had something to do with Alicia’s disappearance which just doesn’t follow with the characters we’ve been shown throughout the book. The only time she’s shown to hurt or kill someone is as a child at the insistence of the women who abducted and abused her.

The final reveal about her husband and who he really was also didn’t feel like it landed for me, and made pregnancy in the epilogue feel even more gross and confusing.

Overall I definitely enjoyed reading this novel and I absolutely want to pick up the authors other book, but I feel the ending was done poorly and felt more like shock value than a clever shocking twist.

I'm almost halfway through this and I'm really fed up with it. The pace is soooo slow!

Aimee Sinclair, an actress on the verge of becoming a household name, returns home from a hard day's slog at the studios to find her husband has vanished. His wallet and mobile phone are still there, but where is he? Does she really care? Do I? Not a lot.

At the same time as Aimee is plodding through life, wallowing in her lack of self-confidence, we have a six-year old girl who has been kidnapped and forced to live as her kidnapper's dead daughter. This six-year is very compliant, rarely mentions her mother, and just seems to fall in with whatever is demanded of her, despite being quite intelligent, mature and quite self-possessed. The chapters alternate with Actress Aimee and Kidnapped Child. How the two are connected I don't know and care even less.

The characters aren't especially interesting, the dialogue is awful and the author has stuffed this book with metaphors for just about everything. This is so tedious I couldn't care less whether he's gone on a trip to the moon or fallen down a manhole.

I hadn't realised, when I was offered this by Netgalley, that I had read Ms Feeney's “Sometimes I Lie”, which for me, was just as bad as this. I cannot recommend either of these books to anyone, in fact I cannot finish it.
