Enthralling read. I started to read it in the morning and finished it by nightfall!. The twists and turns - superb - and as good a whodunnit as I'd have expected from Alice Feeney. The end came as a complete surprise. Would definitely recommend this.

This book rekindled my love for modern thrillers. Honestly, the amount of books I've had to dump halfway through is ridiculous so it came as a huge relief to find one that kept me going right to the end. The style is uncluttered and the hook drags you straight in. Hints and teasers keep the pages turning without any obvious clangers. A great story - I raced through this.

The change of point of view later in the book was a bit of a jar - I didn't care about that particular character and didn't really want to go there, but by this time I'd bought into the story that it didn't hinder me at all. As for the ending... it felt just a little too much TV thriller for me, just a little too planned if that makes sense, but that's a minor quibble and nothing more than personal taste. Overall, a very good read.

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney

Aimee Sinclair is a TV and film actress on the brink of stardom. She is just finishing a movie in the UK and has an audition coming up with one of Hollywood’s top directors. For the moment, Aimee is one of those people who gets a double take in the street. But soon everyone will know her name. Everything is going so well. And then the day comes when Aimee gets home from work and discovers her husband Ben missing. He’s left his wallet, phone, keys, even his shoes behind, but Ben is gone. When she calls the police, she’s horrified to discover that they expect foul play, that she is a suspect. For it seems the police have had their eye on Aimee. They’re not the only ones. Aimee had been the victim of a stalker some time ago and Aimee now fears that the stalker is back. What do they want? And do they know something about Aimee’s past? It’s that which terrifies Aimee the most.

I was such a huge fan of Alice Feeney’s previous novel Sometimes I Lie, one of the best and twistiest psychological thrillers I’ve read, and I couldn’t wait to read I Know Who You Are. Alice Feeney is the master of the Unreliable Narrator and in Aimee Sinclair she has created another original and complex main character, who is both entertaining and largely unknowable. I loved the fact that Aimee is an actress. The perfect career for the Unreliable Narrator if ever there was one. And while this sets off all sorts of warning alarms, the novel doesn’t entirely develop in the way you think it might.

This is such a fun and entertaining novel. I really enjoyed the glimpses into Aimee’s acting world. Her position is fragile. Her reputation is paramount. Everything could end in a moment. And we meet the people who might make it end. This means lots of red herrings and false threads as this is a competitive world where nobody should be trusted. It’s hard not to feel empathy for Aimee, especially now that the ground has been pulled out from under her feet.

But there is more than one story in I Know Who You Are and the parallel tale set in the past is riveting. This is fantastic storytelling – it’s poignant, sad and horrific all at the same time and really demonstrates the skill of the author’s writing and plotting.

There is something rather bonkers about the way in which the story unwinds but nevertheless I Know Who You Are is a fun, light and fast psychological thriller that is hard to put down and very enjoyable to read. Alice Feeney really does come up with such brilliant main characters. I can’t wait to see who she comes up with next!

Having read this Author’s debut Sometimes I Lie last year and thoroughly enjoyed it I had great expectations for her new novel and I can say it didn’t disappoint. It is a book with two time lines and stories which slowly emerge unravelling so many disturbing things along the way.

Aimee Sinclair is an up and coming actress, who to an outsider comes across as having the perfect life. But looks can be deceiving as we find out when she arrives home one day to find her husband Ben missing, her acting talent really does come into its own. Aimee has so many hidden secrets but the one thing she yearns for is a child of her own, this is something that controlling Ben is adamant is not going to happen. Aimee soon becomes a suspect when a body is discovered and she is more determined than ever to conceal her past.

The chapters of Aimee in the late 1980’s are spoken with her childlike honesty. When she is kidnapped away from her family and home in Ireland to a new life in Essex I found her words particularly disturbing as she describes the terrifying ordeal. Aimee’s childhood is certainly not a happy one but then neither is her adult one. No one is who you think they are and with so many twists I could not predict what was coming next, which of course is perfect reading for this genre of book.

My thanks to HQ for the copy of this book and to Julie Boon for sharing my review on her blog as part of the blog tour for this book.

Wow, what an ending! I definitely didn’t see that one coming.
This is a good psychological thriller with lots going on to keep the reader entertained. My only negative would be that it lost some of the pace mid way through the book. However, it’s a well written book and it’s worth sticking with it for the ending.

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney
First of all I need to say a huge thank you to my lovely Bookstagram buddy Sarah @bookworm1346 for recommending I read this! What a book, I really couldn’t put this down

When Aimee’s husband Ben goes missing and she declares this to the police she becomes the prime suspect. But she’s innocent. Or is she?’

This book was so well written and I really wasn’t expecting anything less after reading the author’s debut ‘Sometimes I Lie’. I loved the alternating chapters of past and present, combing two words so well. This is an incredibly unique, unnerving and thrilling tale. Five stars. Highly recommended

I Know Who You Are is gripping, crazy and completely absorbing. That 'surprise' too...!

The characters in this novel are so interesting - you’re never sure who to trust, but you know Aimee’s past is going to come back to haunt her. Aimee is a fascinating person and I struggled throughout the novel to work out how much blame could be placed on her, and how much on those around her. There's always that seed of doubt, where you wonder if you're being taken in by someone who isn't quite telling the truth - and the doubt here is what makes it such an engaging, disarming novel. It keeps you feeling just that little bit unsure, and I loved it!

That, coupled with the plot - crazy, with PLENTY of WTF moments (that ending!), makes for addictive reading. The ending is absolutely bound to divide people, and I get why. In fact the whole last quarter of the book gets weird quickly, but I couldn't put it down - and who wants to please everyone, anyway?!

Switching between the two narratives - covering Aimee as a child, and the present day as an adult - slowly unravelled more and more about Aimee’s awful childhood and the person she’s become, whilst leaving some hints for the reader to try and unpick (though nothing that ruins the brilliant twists that are coming).

As mentioned, this gets really f*cked up in places so it’s not for those after a light-hearted read. It might not all be utterly believable but it sure did keep me reading, and I hugely admire Alice Feeney’s writing style and tight plotting. I really wanted to work out what the hell was going on, and I have to say I got nowhere close to guessing, but really enjoyed trying!

I enjoyed this book. It had a great many twists and turns but they worked for me. The author has skillfully woven the back story in with the present and provides us with an ending we could not have anticipated. It is a long time since a book has done this to me! I thought the story was good, it had good pace, the characters were interesting and well drawn. A good read.

This is one of those books that really is deliciously twisted in all the ways you want a psychological thriller to be. There are two story lines running parallel throughout the book but within different time periods, but how do these two stories collide? Aimee Sinclair has secrets that she doesn’t want anyone to know, but what secrets? And who is her stalker? These are just a few of the unanswered questions that will be going through your mind as you read this book.

This book kept me on my toes all the way through purely because there were just so many things left hanging which meant I had to read to the end to find out. There was a major twist at the end which completely turned me round as I did not see it coming or even have any kind of an inkling that the story would take that turn. Bravo to the author there as I haven’t read a book in a really long time where that has happened to me before.

If you like your psychological thrillers with lots of unanswered questions and an out of the blue twist at the end then this book will be for you.

I read Sometimes I Lie by the same author and loved it, so I was looking forward to her new book and it's another brilliant read. Just the kind of book I enjoy, a dark psychological thriller that certainly kept me turning the pages to see what was next.
The characters were varied, interesting and believable. The story moved along at a good pace with a good level of suspense that kept me interested; ending not what I expected at all!
Recommend this excellent and well written book if you like dark psychological thrillers with many twists and turns.

I read this thriller from Alice Feeney without the benefit of reading her debut psychological thriller Sometimes I Lie. The book contains a complex tale with many twists and turns as the story of Aimee Sinclair is revealed to the reader. The author's style of writing maintained a good level of intrigue from start to finish and I was keen to reach the end to unravel the secrets contained within Aimee's life. However, I was not fully convinced by the plot complexity which spoiled some of my enjoyment of this book. Maybe, now is the time to reach for Sometimes I Lie before reaching my final decision?
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

5 Shocking Twist Filled Stars!!!

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.

Aimee Sinclair’s husband has gone missing, with the evidence against her, and her career taking off, will Aimee find out who is behind it all, before it’s too late? Is Aimee really who she says she is, or has she got dark secrets of her own?

Alice Feeney takes the reader on one hell of a rollercoaster ride with this story. When you think there can’t possibly be anymore twists or secrets to uncover, she throws another plot twist into the mix, that has you questioning everything you thought you knew. Throughout this story my mind was at battle with itself, between what it thought it knew and what it really knew. From start to finish I loved this book and found it hard to put down, I was captivated from start to finish.

Aimee Sinclair is a very intriguing character; on the surface she seemed your typical kind of woman, following her dreams, happily married. As the story unfolds, you discover her childhood was complex, it’s a wonder she functioned with any normality at all. I found myself feeling compassion for Aimee, given the things she had experienced and lived through.

This story has many interesting, and intriguing characters, many with their own secrets to hide. Alice Feeney does not disappoint with keeping you on your toes with this book, from start to finish.

The ending will hit you hard, and fast, you won’t see it coming. You might think you know; you may have a little of the truth figured out, however, you won’t fully expect the revelations as they unfold.

One hell of a story with one hell of a twist, for all psychological, thriller readers; you will not be disappointed.

What a fabulously chilling ending this story has, I thought I’d worked it out but I didn’t see that coming.

‘I Know Who You Are’ is told from Aimee’s point of view, in the present day, with flashbacks thirty years previously to her childhood. The story is menacing and you experience everything Aimee feels.

Aimee is an unreliable protagonist because of the trauma she suffered in her past life, but she is easy to empathise, and I believed in her throughout the twists and turns of the story.

Abuse and control are the major themes of this story and shape Aimee into the person she is, preferring to act and assume a character rather than face the reality of her life.

Putting aside the suspense, mystery and plot twists, which are well-written, and have a powerful impact, there is also an ethos of sadness, loss and powerlessness that defines Aimee, and her story. It is this that resonates and makes her story believable.

An actress arrives home expecting to find her husband waiting for her. His shoes, wallet and phone are there as is his car but no sign of Ben. Aimee reports him missing and so begins the story. Just a few pages in and there is this tense feel about something you can’t quite put your finger on. She has had a stalker previously and now finds their joint account has been emptied- purportedly by her. In Galway in 1987 Ciara has wandered off form her family and is found by Maggie who looks after her. Caira then finds herself in a strange place and she wants to go home. She meets her new Dad and she is kept away from prying eyes for a while. She quite likes it there as in her original home there was little food and here she is well looked after albeit under very strict rules. Maggie and her husband run a bookmakers and have some dodgy friends. Maggies teaches Aimee as she is now called to look after herself if ever trouble comes calling and one day it does. Oh boy! One to put me on the edge of my seat. I thought I could see where this was going but it didn’t spoil the tension at all. I did and then I didn’t (if that makes sense?) Aimee is likeable but rather naive in many ways which gives her that extra fragility despite what she has shut away in her past. “Don’t let the past shape the present. Just siphon enough off to be able to shape the future”. Oooh! I wasn’t expecting that! A very well written book . One to put you off kilter in a very good way.

It is so difficult to review this book without giving any spoilers!
Safe to say there are twists, turns, WTF moments and several points where I was struggling with what was going on and if people were actually who I thought they were!
Dark, gritty and at times quite uncomfortable to read, this story was a definite page turner for me. If I hadn't been reading it with Pigeonhole I think I would have struggled to stop reading at some points!

A fabulously twisting, creepy thriller that really does leave you guessing! I love trying to spot twists but I didn't spot this one. Alice Feeney has cleverly created a narrator that you're 95% sure you can trust, but with some carefully constructed gaps that you're desperate to fill in.

I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney is a book that stays with you after you read it. Dark, twisted and unpredictable until the very last chapter.

In the very beginning, we are met with the unknown. Aimee Sinclair is an actress and when she comes home, she realizes her husband is missing. The police suspect she is hiding something. They are right, she does have a secret…

The book switches between two timelines; the first being Aimee today and the second being Aimee’s childhood. We get to enjoy these parallel stories and understand how Aimee’s childhood directly influences her decisions as a grown up.

‘’Sometimes it only takes one person to believe in you, to change your life forever. Sometimes it only takes one person not believing in you to destroy it. Humans are a highly sensitive species.’’

Alice’s writing is brilliant, and when reading the two timelines, you feel the child and you feel the adult. A skill not many writers can perfect.

Aimee’s whole life has been about being a different person. That is why she choose to become an actress. She can change into different people as she wants, and keep her true self hidden somewhere safe. But she didn’t learn this all by herself.

The book will leave things unpredictable until the very end. I had my theories and they kept changing all the time. The moment you feel you are close to the truth, something happens and you are back at the start. I loved it!

I wasn’t disappointed with the ending, but I did feel grossed out and disgusted by a certain someone. At times, some scenes felt like too much, but they were crucial to the story.

If you love dark and twisted psychological thrillers, you will most probably enjoy reading I Know Who You Are by Alice Feeney.

Trigger warnings for abuse in all shapes and forms, animal cruelty and childhood trauma.

Thank you to the team at HQ, for the opportunity to be part of this blog tour, and for sending me a paperback copy in exchange for an honest review.

All I can really say is read this book.
From the first to last page it is entralling, tense and spellbinding. This was one of the best books I have read this year. It centers around Aimee a young model married to a very jealous man Ben who is full of rage and resentment. When Ben is reported missing Aimee's world starts to come shattering down.
As we learn of Aimee's past and her problems with trust we also realise that no-one is who we think they are.
This is a very cleverly written chilling and thrilling book which I found hard to put down.

Wow. What are a read. You’re never let down by this author and I loved this book as much as her last.

I absolutely couldn’t wait to find out what happens to young Aimee and adult Aimee and at points literally had my hand to my mouth as I gasped. Quick paced, well written and took me back to my childhood at times.

Great book, I’d highly recommend it
