I have loved all the books in this series and was excited to read the latest, it did not disappoint!! Could not put this book down! Thrilling read, with so many twists, had me guessing till the very end, did not see that ending coming!!!!

Josie and her partner Noah arrive at his mother Colette Fraley’s and discover her lying lifeless in the garden. Despite Josie trying to revive her there’s nothing the paramedics can do and Josie and Noah are told that Colette died of asphyxiation from soil being pushed into her throat. As they walk around the house they discover the killer’s been searching for something and when Josie finds a small bag containing a flash drive, arrow head and belt buckle hidden in the base of Colette’s sewing machine she wonders if this is the reason for Colette’s demise. As Josie’s team make their enquiries they realise there’s a connection with Drew Pratt who went missing many years ago.

‘The Bones She Buried’ is a gripping thriller which becomes more involving as the story progresses. It’s fast-paced with a complex plot, a number of suspects and plenty of twists and turns to keep me guessing. There’s a final twist at the end that I wasn’t expecting but works well with the rest of the story. I like the character of Josie who’s strong, a good leader and shows consideration to her colleagues Gretchen and Mett, and it’s good to hear how her relationship with Noah is progressing. I thoroughly enjoyed this thriller and am looking forward to number six.

where has this author been all my life...what a rollercoaster of a ride this book takes you on...action from the very start...

murder most foul...honest to goodness you never saw it coming, love how the author writes and even though this is my first book by this author and though this is book 5 in the series i fell in love with all the characters and felt like i knew them from day one...i am so going to be looking out for the rest of this series just for the background information..as they sound amazing as well...

this author is now on my watch list for life...dont think you can ever go wrong when you find an author that can write like this...one to watch out for...oh and the storyline is amazing but cant give any info on it as it will give it away...

I read this as a stand alone and not part of the series, as most importantly, I was interested in the blurb and hadn’t heard of the author before. It’s a keep you on your toes kind of crime thriller, and would definitely interest readers who love Angela Marsons Kim Stone series. Josie Quinn is a strong likeable character and this shines through as her work and personal life are intertwined throughout the book. Noah, her other half, has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth, I’m hoping he redeems himself! I’ve read a few reviews and I disagree with one that summarises the end as implausible, if anything it emphasises the lengths one would go to in desperate need! Right I’m off to purchase the first in the series; I highly recommend this book.

Josie is strong as always but the crime in this one reaches into her personal life in a way that makes the lack of Noah’s understanding and blind devotion to his family seem cold and relationship ending.

Josie is at her best yet trying to solve the murder of her boyfriend's mom.

My review is rather vague because I am trying to avoid spoilers!

The 5th book of the Detective Josie Quinn series focuses on a murder that hits Josie close to home. As a result, her relationship with Noah is put to the test, while her bond with her fellow police officers grows.

Per the usual for this series, things get a little out of control and a little over the top in the last 20% of the book. The level of implausibility used to really bother me about this series, but I have now come to expect it! This time around, I found Josie’s actions super frustrating--she makes some terrible decisions and there were several times that I wanted to slap some sense into her. She made bad decisions concerning both her personal and professional life. In the beginning, there is a pretty obvious link presented that relates directly to the murderer, but the police gloss over it. While my book detective skills are pretty stellar, it was such an obvious clue that I couldn’t get past the police not latching on to it!

However, despite these issues, I still really enjoyed The Bones She Buried. It’s fast-paced and easy to read. I have really grown to care about the characters in this series. Josie’s character, while frustrating, continues to develop with every installment. Everything wraps up nicely, but a seed of doubt has been planted and I look forward to seeing how things play out in the next book!

This is book five in the crime thriller series, Detective Josie Quinn. Lisa Regan has given an all-out gripping account of events in this narrative for both new and veteran readers of the series.

When Detective Josie Quinn and her partner, Noah Fraley arrive at his mother’s home for a family dinner, they find it in disarray and eventually find her lifeless body in the backyard. Working hard to uncover what has happened to Mrs. Fraley and to also be a supportive girlfriend to Noah, Josie is pulled in opposite directions. Secrets are uncovered and questions need to be asked but how far will Josie go to discover the truth if means hurting Noah and his mother’s memory?

This plot was outstanding. My favorite so far in the series. With so many twist and turns, it was hard to know which way was up. Regan gave very little foreshadowing, leaving the reader in the dark until the very end. The characters were strong and relatable. It was hard not to feel that intrinsic conflict waging war with Josie. Regan did an outstanding job of creating this multidimensional storyline all while keeping the plot tight and the reader on point. Great read. 5 stars.

First book I read in this series so it can be read as a stand-alone. Occasionally references are made to what happened in the previous books which makes me want to go back to read those. This was an intriguing mystery. Characters were well developed. You really felt the sorrow affecting Noah with the murder of his mother. The frustration of Josie not been able to help Noah and the drifting apart of the two.
Josie's own struggle not to fall back on alcohol and losing the battle. The story has a lot of twist and turn and I never expected how it turned out.

What a read!

EVERY single book this author writes gets better & better.

So many twists, Josie is so smart. The way she digs in and solves crimes is such a wild ride.

This was another personal nightmare in Josie’s life, her coworker & boyfriends mother is murdered. And they find her. Noah’s grief literally made him unbearable, throwing Josie in many difficult positions. Just my own personal view...I deeply wanted to smack Noah’s sister and she was pregnant.

This books mystery & murders were detailed, twisty and the end...boom 💥. What a ride. We have some visits from older characters, which I love. Josie also wrestled with some old demons...sometimes she wins, sometimes she doesn’t.

This authors plots are epic...so tight, such detail, she in my opinion is one of the best up and coming voices in this genre. Her characters literally leap off the pages. I’m talking Karen Slaughter good, Lisa Gardner good. She is now a MUST read for me. And take my word for it...she is going to be BIG! I LOVE

The Bones She Buried is the 5th book in the Detective Josie Quinn series but can be read as a stand-alone. I love this series! Josie's character is one of my favorite female detective lead. Great writing with amazing characters. In this book, you are taken on a rollercoaster ride with plenty of twists and turns and family secrets to keep you on the edge of your seat as the complex storyline will blow you away. The author did a wonderful job of weaving the plot in a way that kept me from being able to guess what would happen next. I truly had no idea how this was going to pan out and the ending was brilliant and came together so well.

I definitely recommend this reading this whole series. Can't wait for the next one.

My gosh, Lisa Regan has done it once again! I am such a fan of this ladies writing and the Josie Quinn series is just so addictive. I can't believe that this is book 5 already. So much has happened in these books and I eagerly await the next instalment every time. Josie is a brilliant character. She is so strong considering what has happened to her in her life. She is a great detective who just can't let anything go until she gets to the truth. In this book she struggles with being a cop and being the supportive girlfriend, just wanting to do the right thing and find the killer as well and being there for Noah and his family. I hope that there is plenty more Josie to come, I don't think I will ever be tired of this series.

This time the case is personal to her boyfriend and fellow cop Noah. On arriving at his mothers house for dinner one night they can tell immediately that something's is wrong. The house has been turned over and Colette is nowhere to be found. When they do find her face down in the garden it is clear that she is dead, and that it is not from natural causes. Noah and his family are devasted, Colette was a kind, well loved women, who would want her dead. Josie and her colleges start investigating and find some items in the house that link to missing people from the past. How is Collette connected to them and did she know something that got her killed.

The way this book tied up in the end came as a real shock to me, I certainly didn't pick it. We are lead on a journey with Josie though Collettes past and this at time puts a strain on. Her relationship with Noah. Staying professional she knows that she needs to get to the bottom of this case, no matter what she might find.

Ok so this is my second outing with Lisa Regan's Detective Quinn and I loved the first book i read in this series, Her Mother's Grave, I gave it 5 stars so I started this one with very high expectations. I was not disappointed! The story progresses quickly and is very well structured. The characters are believable and for the most part likeable. The murders are well described but not over gory (that puts me off) and there are enough twists and red herrings to keep you riveted and guessing until the author decides when to reveal. Another outstanding story by an excellent author. I just downloaded another book in the series, 'Her Final Confession,' so I'm for a bit more reading.

How could this have happened? Josie and Noah arrive at his mother’s home to find her in the backyard, dead. This is no accidental death as his mother’s mouth is full of soil and there are other signs of foul play. Josie and Noah are both employed with the Denton P.D. where Josie is a detective. How will she be able to investigate such a personal case to both of them? The only odd clue they find in the home is a belt buckle, a flash drive and an arrowhead all hidden in his mother’s sewing machine. Why was she hiding them? Is this why she was killed? A totally absorbing and fascinating mystery as clues are scarce and as they do turn up, lead to more questions. Josie is dealing with the investigation as the other lead detective is still on desk duty. In addition, Noah is in shock from the death of his mother and not happy that Josie is working the case…she should just be there for him. Ms. Regan knows how to keep you guessing as there are more victims and crimes. The investigation soon leads to a much larger crime buried in the past. I absolutely loved this book. There were so many different elements to the mystery and you keep thinking "How on earth is this going to tie together??" but it does, and perfectly. Not only is there the death of Josie's boyfriend Noah's mother to figure out, but it may or may not be related to disappearances from years back that were complete mysteries in their own right. She literally goes all over the place to put the pieces together and determine what happened and how many people were involved.

The only issue I had was that Josie seems to have yet another not so great guy in her life, based on her Noah's behavior throughout the story. Of course the death of his mother is a terrible event, but throughout the story he seems more loyal to his sister and her husband than to Josie. His sister is even worse and there seems to be no reason for constant dislike of Josie except that she works all the time. And Josie should have been stronger in standing up for herself and making Noah realize how much he was taking out on her and how she didn't deserve it. I hope this doesn't signal trouble ahead for this couple! I can't wait to see how the story line continues in the next book.

The story starts with murder of Collete Fraley and Josie and Noah finding out the same. The emotions of a son on finding her mother in such a state are very real. The state of denial is what people actually go through before the reality sinks in.

The story progresses further to finding clues and trying to figure out the murderer and the motive behind it. What starts as an investigation of a single murder paves the way for finding out something much bigger.

I picked up this book thinking it to be a thriller as given in the genre but was not a thriller. It is a Crime mystery genre. The pace of the book is also slow. There aren’t many scenes in the book giving you adrenaline rush. Few places gives the reference of past cases which I haven’t read.

I won’t say the revelation was something that was not expected since I did get a vague feeling of who could have committed the crime. The character of Luke I felt was uncalled for and could’ve been avoided.

Overall it’s a good book with detailed descriptions giving you the feeling of visualing in front of you.

I am so addicted to this series! I am like an eager child waiting for each installment in this series about Detective Josie Quinn. This installment of the novel focuses on the murder of Noah's mother Colette. Noah is Josie's boyfriend as well as fellow detective. Josie and Noah discover Colette's body in her yard and it becomes quickly evident that there was foul play involved. Josie walks a tight line between comforting Noah and trying to solve his mother's murder. He starts to close Josie out and she is really powerless to help him especially with his pregnant sister helping to stir the pot. As usual this was a well crafted story with a nice twist at the end. The reader spends a lot of the book wondering if Colette was involved in something nefarious during her younger years or was she just another victim. What did Colette know that led to her murder and is Colette's murder tied with several other murders that occur rapidly though out the book? I guess you will just have to read this book to find out!

Wow,I have just finished The Bones She Buried and what an amazing, exciting read it was! I enjoy reading about Detective Josie Quinn so much. She is a strong intelligent police officer that gets more interesting every time.

This book is set around Noah, Josies latest boyfriend, and his family. At times I felt like stepping into the story and giving them a piece of my mind! That's how I know I've enjoyed a book so much, when I actually become part of it! Highly recommended.

I always have a weak spot for a good detective thriller series, and Detective Josie Quinn has quickly grown into one of my favorites. I have been enjoying spending time with his main character in the fictional city of Denton, and book number five is without doubt another excellent addition to the series. If you like your detective thrillers fast, intense and basically similar to crazy rollercoaster rides, you definitely have to try this series. What a ride! I wasn’t sure what else could be happening after all Denton and its habitants have already gone through, but Lisa Regan has another surprise in store and the plot intensifies. One of the reasons the series works this well is that the main characters are easy to like and connect to. Between this, the writing style and a gripping plot you will definitely want to free some of your time when you start reading The Bones She Buried. I like how we with each installment not only we are given a new intense investigation to follow, but we also see the main characters we've grown to love evolve over time. This means you'll have to read the books in order, but every single one has been a more than solid read so far and definitely worth your time. In fact: The Bones She Buried is one heck of an entertaining and intense ride and this time around things get personal once again. Things might be said about the credibility of certain aspects of the plot, but personally I was too busy enjoying my adrenaline ride to worry about it. I’m already looking forward to meet Josie Quinn again!

Detective Josie Quinn has quickly grown into one of my favorite detective thriller series. I like my thrillers fast, entertaining, suspenseful and action-packed, and every single book has delivered exactly that so far. The main character is easy to like and meeting up with Josie Quinn is like visiting an old friend. Things can be said about the credibility of certain aspects of the plot and the fact that a LOT seems to be happening in such a small town and within such a small group of people. But I have to be honest here and say I was far too busy enjoying the ride to really think about it. This is one of those series you will find yourself flying through and it will be hard to let go before you reach the final page. The Bones She Buried is another scorcher!
