Tegan thought she was finally safe in Miami. With friends filling her life she thought she had put the Mob hunting her firmly in the rearview mirror!
Aaron is a single father, working for Red Stone. He has taken to frequenting Tegan's little cafe and when he witnesses her car blow up, he immediately puts Red Stone on the case. Try as he might to tell himself that he is just doing what anyone with his skillset would do, he grudgingly has to admit that Tegan has sparked the fire in his libido. He thought he was done with long term relationships after the disaster that was his marriage.
Aaron is tall, strong, silently gruff with most folk except his son. Tegan is sweet but wary of people due to her past. These two are just crying out for a HEA! Oh, and Kali, the dog will make you feel all the warm and fuzzies!
Red Stone Security Series books are awesome. This is a stand alone story with lots of heat. IT was a good plot and great characters plus added suspense. A fast-paced storyline.
A fast paced sexy read. Full of a lot of suspense, action, and romance in a shorter read. There's a lot going on in this one. A satisfying read that I wish had went on longer.
The Story in 4 Sentences or Less: Tegan O’Kelly spent two years on the run but when the gangster after her dies, she feels she’s finally safe, has a job, and has finally found a place to call home. Then her car is bombed and instead of running again she decides to stand her ground, with the help of her brooding regular customer, single dad Aaron Fitzpatrick. Aaron’s tried to ignore Tegan’s appeal but when she needs help he’s the first one to offer even if it means having her in his home and his son and seeing just how good it could be between them.
Like It? Hate it? Love it? Why? Katie Reus is a no fail author for me, because even when it’s a quickie romance like Dangerous Protector it’s fun. Aaron’s growly, brooding exterior hides a heart of gold. He’s a great father to his son Dillon and had his doubts. What I really loved about Aaron was that he was a natural born protector but wasn’t the smothering type. He respected Tegan’s choice to stand her ground and he supported her while he protected her. And Tegan wasn’t a fool either. She didn’t take stupid risks with her safety and I could believe that she managed to survive two years on the run because she was street smart and sneaky. More than that though, Tegan was just a good person, and when paired up with someone like Aaron, I totally bought their romance.
As quick as Dangerous Protector was, it managed to pack a lot of action, suspense, and heat into a short time. Of course, this author has never disappointed me with her novellas so I’m not surprised.
Click It or Skip It? Click It. Tegan and Aaron make a cute and dangerous combination.
In Dangerous Protector the heroine, Tegan O’Kelly, after two years of living in fear of the retribution a Chicago mobster, has finally stopped running and felt safe enough to settle in Miami after learning of his death. She’s working in a coffee shop frequented by Red Stone Security. One morning one of their operatives - Aaron Fitzpatrick, an ex-marine and single father - gets more than he bargained for when, on a coffee run, he gets caught up in an explosion when a bomb planted in Tegan’s car goes off early. Just when she thought she was safe has her past caught up with her? But her enemy is supposed to be dead isn’t he? Aaron immediately steps in to protect Tegan but how can he do that and protect his heart and that of his son at the same time especially as the more he learns about Tegan the more he comes to love her.
This is a quick read but the action doesn’t let up for a minute. The characters are well developed. I loved the fact that Aaron and Tegan didn’t jump into bed at the first chance they got, although there were a few steamy encounters between them, but that we got to see their relationship develop gradually. This book is part a series but can be read as stand-alone as even though some of the previous characters appear no spoilers relating to previous books.
Dangerous Protector
by Katie Reus
Being part of a series, this book can be read as a stand-alone.
Aaron Fitzpatrick has had his eye on Tegan O’Kelly since she showed up in Miami 8 months ago. He’s never so much as talked to her, but on this one morning everything changed.
Tegan stopped in Miami 8 months ago, but made it a more permanent home only 3 months back. After being on the run for 2 years, she felt safe after hearing the mob boss was dead. But that safety was shattered on that morning.
Aaron watched as Tegan walked toward her car and as she pressed the key the car exploded. Now his protective instincts have kicked in and he plans to keep her safe.
I throughly enjoyed reading this story, and seeing the relationship bloom between these two. The characters were well defined and so lovable.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Another great story by Katie Reus. When I saw this book with her name on it, I knew it would be a good read. The story starts off with a "bang," bringing both Tegan's and Aaron's worlds together.
Aaron is a single dad who works for a security company, though we really don't see the dangerous side of his life. Tegan is on the run from a killer and finally decides to settle down in Aaron's town to create a new life. Unfortunately, the killer has found her and wants his revenge.
If I could add one thing to this story, it would be an additional chapter at the beginning, allowing the reader to see the main character's interactions with each other. We're told of the tension between them, but I'd rather see it.
My thanks to NetGalley and KR Press, LLC for the pleasure of reading and reviewing Dangerous Protector by Katie Reus.
Dangerous Protector by Katie Reus is book Four in the Red Stone Security Series. This is the story of Aaron Fitzpatrick and Tegan O’Kelly. This can be a standalone book.
Tegan has been on the run for years from a dangerous man, thinking he was dead she has settled into a new life. Tegan has build friendships and found a home, but then her car is bombed bringing back the past to the present. But this time she standing in place to face her past. Aaron is single father working to keep down his attraction to Tegan, because he knows there is something more going on there. But when he see her in danger he knows that fighting his desire for her is no more...he is in full protective mode.
This is the 14th book in the Red Stone Security Series. There were no surprise in this romantic suspense, but sometimes you just need a quick, fun, sexy read.

I didn't realize that this was an old title when I requested it from Netgalley though interestingly enough it was a story that I hadn't read even as I've read a lot of the books in this series.
Tegan has been on the run and living off the grid for many years until she's finally settled in Miami. She works in a bakery which the Fitzpatrick family patronizes but most particularly the two handsome single brothers. Things have been at a simmering flirtation stage with Aaron when Tegan's car explodes and puts her front and center of Aaron's protection.
The story is a quick read as the bad guys hunt Tegan and the police and Aaron's team try to keep her safe. I enjoy romances with their touch of suspense that keeps the adrenaline going and adds a nice touch of spice and mystery to the story.
Tegan has been running and hiding from a crime boss, who thinks she has something of his. When the danger approaches, Aaron, who works for Red Stone Security, offers to protect her. She is reluctant, although she has been attracted to him for a long time, because he has a son and she does not want to put anyone else in danger. Aaron is almost too good to be true. His family embraces Tegan and they grow in their relationship.
I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion. I absolutely love this author and all of the previous books I’ve read. This book was also excellent.
Aaron is the strong silent type who is intrigued by Tehran but doesn’t know how to show it. When Tegan’s Car explodes Aaron takes her under his protection.
Once he is watching over Tegan their attraction grows but Tegan is still in danger even after the first threat is gone. Will their love survive or will Tegan run?
Tegan has been on the run from a gangster who thinks she knows where some stolen diamonds are. Now that he's dead, she can safely settle down in a small town and enjoy her life. Unfortunately, the gangster is not dead and he's not the only one after her. When her car explodes in an attempt on her life, Aaron, ex-Marine and employee of Red Stone Security, can no longer deny that he has feelings for Tegan. Lots of suspense, and romance make this a fun read.
#14 in the Redstone Security series. This is (somehow) the first book of the series I've read...and i love romantic suspense!! What a great ride! Nonstop action starting on the first page and it never let's up! Combined with a sexy hero and a smart, sassy heroine this the perfect book for a lazy afternoon. I loved it. Thank you to Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This was a very quick read...a bit too quick if I’m honest as the relationship between Teagan and Aaron wasn’t really developed enough for me....it went from 0 to 60 in a matter of paragraphs. The overall story was good but this book would have been a lot more enjoyable if it had been a few chapters longer...give the relationship a chance to grow organically. A fast read but had the potential to be a really good book if it wasn’t so rushed
This is Tegan and Aaron book, Tegan is running from a gangster who thinks she stole his diamonds! After being in the run for so long she gets news the bad guy is dead! So she puts down roots in Miami , she has a great job and good friends! Then her car gets bombed in broad daylight! Aaron is a single father and is ex military who now works in security with some of his military buddies , his wife left him and his kid five years earlier! He knows he wants nothing to do with the fiery new woman so he's a jerk to her to keep her away! But all that changes when her car gets bombed! He's done pushing her away! This book was ok it was definitely to short for me but still a decent read! Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me!
This was a pretty quick read... possibly too quick because I felt that there wasn’t enough story to build the characters, which meant that it felt like there wasn’t much chemistry between the two leads. The hitman storyline was good, but there was a plot element that really didn’t work for me. A small spoiler here....
They knew Enzo had no reason to blow up her car, but when he was arrested, they all just went on their merry way without a thought about WHO actually did blow up her car, or the fact that she was still a target.
So, I want to give this a higher score than 3 stars because I enjoy Reus’ writing, but that hole just prevents a better rating.

Another great Red Stone book. Tegan's situation is different from any of the other ones in this series which I like. Aaron was a great guy and an amazing dad. He was, of course, as hot as all the previous boys in Stone Security. Great epilogue.
4.5 Wonderfully Addictive Stars
A quick, truly enjoyable, entertaining and addictive read. Aaron Fitzpatrick and Tegan O’Kelly have been attracted to each other for the eight months they’ve known each other. Neither acting on the attraction as for reasons personal to them, they don’t want any entanglements. All that changes when Tegan’s life is threatened. Aaron is willing to move heaven and earth to protect her. With every bone in his body. A wonderfully written action romance with some lovely characters. I adored ultra cute Dillon, add Kali the Siberian husky into the mix and you’ve got a fantastic combination that I loved. I received a review copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest opinion.
Tegan works at a cake and coffee shop. Aaron works for Red Steel Security.
Thinking she is finally safe after a mob gangster had died. Then her car is
bomb and Aaron witnesses it, now the attraction is something he doesn’t want to ignore any longer. It was her brother that stole from the gang and has since disappeared. Aaron ‘s mother is also bring his son into the coffee shop and getting to know Tegan. A fast paced action, with a love that won’t be denied any longer. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion my Net Galley and. K R Press,
