A good concept that wasn't executed properly. The author is an under-writer and this story required more fleshing out of characters and world.

I like the premise, and I tried really hard to find something I liked about the book. In the end it just not is something I would pick up again.

This is just very much telling rather than showing, and I wasn't able to get very far through the story... Not for me

Pale Wolves by Thomas Hulse, an interesting book. The dead have risen and are being led by a sociopathic young man who raised most of them. They act and think in packs and have been christened as wolves. Written pretty well, but what threw me off was the extremely short chapters.

Not a fan of this at all unfortunately, I tried to like it as the concept sounded so good but I found it slow and uninteresting mostly, the sex was inappropriate at times I felt and was unnecessary. The characters were not interesting and couldn’t empathise with any of them.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

The publishers accepting my request not even five minutes after I requested it should have been my first clue that it was not going to be as incredible as I thought.
The sentences were fragmented and either too many short sentences together or too many long ones together. There is too much telling and not enough showing. I had to DNF it after the multiple times of two characters having sex with each other while his pregnant wife and kids are in the house. I felt so disconnected from the characters and it kills me to say this.
I thought it was going to be fantastic because who doesn't love necromancers and dead armies with claws and fangs? And the cover is gorgeous I am in love with the cover. However, I fell out of love with the story from the first line. I felt like I was reading the first draft.
