The detailed artwork of this title is bright and fun! I wish that there were more than 100 butterflies. I believe this book will help children and their families discover their favorite butterflies. I enjoyed the short descriptions and the layout was easy to follow.
This is a lovely introduction to butterflies and moths.
The book has several sections giving the basic details of each family and them some examples of the main species found in them. I have a passion for butterflies and moths as an adult and I have to say that I thought that the images were lovely, I love taking my young daughter to our local Butterfly Farm and the images were very realistic and lifelike too which I though was excellent.
It is 5 stars from me for this one, very highly recommended and an excellent introduction to the different species of both!
My son learned about the life cycle of butterflies this past month and this book helps to reinforce what he has learned from school. He was excited when I showed him the book and he shared everything his teacher has taught him about butterflies.
"The Butterfly House" is collection of artworks about butterflies and moths Children learn about the insects' life cycle, the differences and similarities between the butterflies and the moths, their diet, as well as the identifications and few interesting facts of their subtypes. The illustrations are beautifully rendered which adults would find them mesmerizing. Although the book is not a comprehensive guide but it serves it purpose just perfect for young readers. Another great educational book for readers of all age.
I received an arc of this title for an honest review. This book is great for all ages and has beautiful illustrations and information about butterflies. Kids will enjoy reading this one over and over.
The Butterfly House has beautiful pictures and that is what is appealing about the book. I had difficulty with the cursive that was used for the names of the butterflies. Cursive being more elegant might seem to be a good idea but for me it fell flat. If you are looking for an in-depth book on butterflies, this is not it. Recommending this for the bright pictures.
This book is beautifully illustrated with amazing pictures. It’s colourful, informative and wonderfully written.
Perfect for children.
The Butterfly House is a beautiful book written for children and adults. The illustrations are fun and colorful while the text is very informative. This book contains a wealth of information about butterflies but does so in a way that does not overwhelm the reader. My children and I enjoyed reading this book together. The Butterfly House will be added to books that we give for book lovers.
We have been on a butterfly book reading kick lately and The Butterfly House was a wonderful addition! Our kids loved that this book was both super informative and beautifully illustrated and we all found it super engaging. We were able to learn so much new information about all different butterfly species and the colorful and detailed illustrations really helped bring this book to life. We can't wait to add this book to our home library. Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Los Angeles was recently overrun by clouds of migrating butterflies so this is a topic I’m sure has been on the minds of lots of kids lately! This brand new nonfiction picture book tells you everything you ever wanted to know about butterflies and moths. It has beautiful, vibrant pictures and takes readers through an imaginary butterfly house, where field notes and diagrams teach about the life cycle, classification and behaviors of many different species.
While this book is written at about a 4th grade independent reading level, the illustrations and facts will be interesting to even the youngest entomologists- you might just want to browse and choose a few pages to read with them rather than studying the entire book.
I'm giving this book 4 stars because I really liked the way the information was organized; I'm sure it would capture the attention of any child (or adult) that is interested in learning more about butterflies and moths. The ARC was missing some information on a few pages so I wasn't able to read the entire book- otherwise I probably would have given this one 5 stars!
Thank you to NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group for providing me with an ARC of this title in exchange for honest feedback.
The copy I received has text that was unfinished but nonetheless an amazing butterfly book! Pictures are amazing, colorful and detailed. The book also provides an easy to understand layout to tell which butterflies are which and other facts about butterflies. The perfect book for little gardeners and butterfly lovers!
This is a book about butterflies and recognizing them. It's very colourful, beautiful art style and wonderful drawings. Perfect for adults or children wanting to learn more about these fascinating insects. There's also information about moths. The information is not too much, just right.
This is like someone's artist sketch book with stunningly beautiful, very colourful illustrations and information given as notes so as not to overwhelm. The writing is a cursive font so may not be suitable for very early readers. Any child who likes butterflies and moths would just cherish this book.
Many thanks to Netgalley for a copy of this ARC for which I have given my voluntary and unbiased review.
An amazingly illustrated book that would be loved by kids of all ages. While packed with detailed information of all kinds of species of butterflies for the older kids, it wouldn’t be overwhelming to the younger littles. This is a book to be read again and again and taken outside on seek and find missions.
