Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.

I received a free ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

An atlas with lots of extra information. Great for learning or kids that just have an interest in other countries.

Take a trip around the world and learn more about the various cultures and regions you never thought possible. This book is so informative and fun you learn and indigenous people and how they live and work. The pictures really kick up to make it better and help with understanding.

This is a great little atlas. Beyond just the location of countries, it identifies different biomes, key facts about regions, major attractions and exports. Really well presented.

I personally enjoyed reading all non-fiction books published by the publisher. "Children's Discovery Atlas" is a wonderful book about continents and geography for young readers between age 8 to 13. There are plenty of information for readers to learn about different regions (i.e. landmarks, biome, animals, cultures, demography and etc.) However, there are plenty of similar books out there and this one does not stand out distinctively. At the end of the day, consumers' personal tastes, choices and budgets would be their primarily factors which dictate their final purchases. In terms of contents and values, though, "Children's Discovery Atlas" is definitely a quality choice but it certainly is not the most economic option out there. Personally, I would be glad to add this title to my home library. 4.5 stars!

This appears to be an excellent atlas for children. However, sadly, much of the text did not appear when I opened the book on Bluefire reader.

Children’s Discovery Atlas
by Anita Ganeri

This book is a cute reference book for kids. The illustrations are bright and elaborate. Kids will have fun going through this book and learning about each continent.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.
All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a cute/simple book. I liked the use of photos along with illustrations. I could see using this in the classroom to introduce the concept of an atlas.

This book is very basic and not very accurate.. It is widely accepted that Robert Peary (a not very nice man) was not the first to the North Pole. Even if that were true the fact remains that Matthew Henson, a Afican American was first to the pole and returned to assist Robert Peary who was ill and was being pulled on a sledge by Henson and two local men. Once I saw this error I began to see more mistakes and general lack of basic knowledge of countries, people and culture. This book is full of old fashioned cliches!
