I was completely gripped by this story and was impressed with the writing quality. I was entertained throughout the story and would not hesitate to recommend this book.
A delightfully funny read that just when I needed something light to read.
Crazy Busy Guilty is about Georgie Henderson discovering that in the twenty-first century being a Good Working Mum means answering emails at midnight while you purée vegetables, line up play dates and French lessons for your four-month-old daughter.
Georgie’s ex, Jase, gets 100 per cent of the credit for 5 per cent of the work, and her best friend, Nina, is on a ‘self-discovery’ journey that involves a young bartender and a plan to become an artisanal florist. And all her mum wants is for her to find a man. Preferably the one who is the father of her child. And Georgie? She just wants a nap, which she's quickly discovering is harder to come by than nuts at a preschool.
It is a relatable book to mothers out there.
Shows the issues and struggles women face after giving birth and seeing how others lives compare to your own as a mother.
An easy read with some great characters.
was able to read this book thanks to NetGalley. It was a solid thriller and was fast paced and entertaining. I was very invested in the characters and their stories. I will be recommending it to my friends. I hope to see future books from this author in the future. Thanks again to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.
After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.
I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.
Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.
This delightful, laugh out loud book is about a new Mom, Georgie, and her journey being a single working Mom. This book of characters were great and very funny. The story made me remember what life was like when I became a first time Mom and went to the office!
I wasnt that into this book. I found it hard to get into. I couldnt relate as I am not a mother so that possibly made it harder for me. So unfortunately this book is only 2 stars from me.
I started reading this book, but did not finish it. I read a few chapters but did not connect with the story.
I adored this book! I'm mildly obsessed with mom fiction as of late. In fact, I purchased this for my new mom friend and included it as part of her new baby gift basket. Sometimes the best way to survive parenthood is to read about other parents having the very same feelings as you.
The main character, Georgie Henderson, is on a mission to do it all - same as just about every other mom I've ever met! The treadmill is vicious and unrelenting and completely unforgiving.
I've read many comparisons of this book with Sophie Kinsella's writing but I will say that I find Laren Sams' characters to be much more empathy-inducing.
Lauren Sams, thank you for writing this! And thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read it.
DNF for now, never realised this was technically a sequel. Will be purchasing the first one to read first.
Ich habe Tränen gelacht wie selten, obwohl gestresste Mütter über das Buch vielleicht nicht so sehr lachen, sondern eher gequält gucken können...
I loved this book! And now reading that this was a sequel - I'm going to have to find the first one immediately!
This book speaks to my mommy-lit soul. For any working mom who has struggled with any type of guilt, to try and be everything to everyone and losing themselves in the process, this book is for you.
In this story, we meet single mom Georgie, who has just had a baby and has now returned to work as an editor of a magazine. We see the struggle to maintain the work-life balance while also trying to date and maintain her friendships that may be crumbling around her. And how can she be the best mom she can be when her phone won't stop ringing with her boss on the line?
This book will speak to parents of any kind (single, in a relationship, etc). It was a fast read that I would classify as a great "beach read!" And if you listen to the audio book, you get the added bonus of an Australian accent!
I give this one 2.5 stars. I ended up listening to it on audiobook and the reader absolutely made the book for me. She was hilariously entertaining; however, I think if I would have tried to read the print version I wouldn't have finished. The format of the book was a little jumpy and there was no real depth or progression of the story in my opinion. It was a good depiction of chaotic mum life, but just not my personal cup of tea. If you enjoy quick, funny reads without a lot of depth this one would be great for you. Grab a copy, maybe some wine and lay by the pool.
An amazing novel! The characters are well-drawn and truly pull at your heart strings. I couldn't put the book down till I reached the final chapter. Highly recommended.
I received Crazy Busy Guilty by Lauren Sams as an ARC from Netgalley. I loved this book! Georgie is a single mum trying to navigate working full time, a new baby and her love life. I found this book hilarious. It is chick lit at its best and I'll definitely be reading other books by Lauren Sams. Her characters are relatable and interesting and I enjoyed her writing. This book gets a big thumbs up from me!
This was not my type of book and I was very disappointed in it.
I had such high hopes for this book
Being a young mum I was interested in this book. And I felt somewhat inclined to want to like the characters but I felt annoyed by them as I would in real life. The writing of this book pulls you in as of your interacting and are part of their story and you become invested either way with what is going to happen. Fantastic writing and story and not how I envisioned the ending when I started this book
The book provides the insight of the life of a 21st century woman who needs to juggle between being a mum and having a career. It is funny and makes you giggle.
Great read when one wants to relax.
I enjoyed the premise of this book, finding the characters to be interesting and the storyline easy to follow. It did not truly pull me in and make me want to sit down to read all day like some tales do, but it was definitely worth the time. Thanks for the opportunity to read this!
Oh my word, this has got to be the best book I have read in ages. It made me remember how I felt going back to work after my children were born. George, the juggling mum, made me laugh out loud and I felt her tears as well. Every character fitted perfectly into the book. This is definitely on my 'to buy' list as I would love to read it again and again and again
Wish I could give it more than 5 stars!
