I absolutely adored She's Having Her Baby so it was a no brainer that I need to read this follow up.
Lauren Sams does not disappoint. As brutally honest and hilarious as ever.
We follow Georgie on her new journey, juggling single motherhood with a career and what we get is a honest to goodness laugh.
I am a sucker for Women's Fiction and it was just everything I needed and more. This book is for anyone, not just parents, which is something else I absolutely love.
A great addition to this set of characters, Lauren Sams done good!!!
While I admit, I'm older than the target reader (my kid's 19!) I still am a sucker for books with newborns and the struggle with being a mom - I remember these days like they were yesterday. The struggle of balancing being a mom with a full time job - its so real and everyone's story deserved to be heard.
George is adorable, if not a little pigheaded and determined to do so much on her own. I'm glad she pulls her head out towards the end and creates the village she needs to stay sane. I would have loved to see a little more of the romance aspect of the book than just recap at the end...
And shout out to the Wiggles - I'm glad to know they're still an Australian institution!! My daughter was in LOVE with them - and Anthony was pretty hot when she was 3...but my favorite was Captain Feathersword - is he still around?????
Well written and fast paced with a sprinkling of humour and some relatable characters, this is a great read for anyone who’s experienced motherhood. Recommended.
This book made me laugh out loud and made me think at the same time.
I liked the style of writing and the characters.
The plot was engaging and entertaining and I was hooked since the first pages.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
Fast paced, honest & absolutely hilarious I would recommend this to anyone who wants a nice funny relatable quick read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for letting me read this book.
I normally dont read books like this so that might be why it's taking a while to read it but I've read enough of it to get my review and this is one of the most honest and relatable books I've ever read. I'm a new mom myself and everything she said I related to in some way like when George said "There’s life Before Baby, and life After Baby" and "Your life is full, which you like but also find terrifying because if one ball drops the rest may come crashing down soon after." I think this book is perfect for a new mom or mom that's done it before. I can't wait to see if George finally gets everything she wanted.
One of the most honest fiction books I’ve read in a long time. While I don’t have children, I do have a lot of friends with kids, and I feel like I’ve lived this story through them. Women of all ages will find something to relate to in this book!
Thank you to the publisher for an advance copy of this book. All thoughts are my own.
Georgie is a young singe mom struggling with the work/home balance. Wherever she is, she feels pulled to be the other place. Her boss is horrible and unrelenting; half the time she doesn't even seem to remember Georgie has a baby. When Georgie has a breakdown while interviewing someone, she realizes she needs to re-think her priorities and make some changes.
This book was a lot of fun. I think anyone who has ever been a new mom will be able to empathize and laugh along with Georgie. Perfect for lovers of chick lit, and all moms out there.
I thought motherhood was universal, I was wrong , I could not relate to this book at all. So to be fair I did not read the entire book. The preface was awful and by the first chapter I was bored to tears. British humor is not my thing.
I didn’t really like the prequel to this book, however, I really enjoyed this one! Very funny look at new motherhood, adult friendships and navigating career and children! Hope to see more from this author in the future! Happy to have given her a second chance!!!
Never heard of this author before however found her to be truly a fun read. Wish I would have read the 1st novel so I would have the background on the friendship and Georges job.
This book is a laugh out loud read that is honest and hard to put down.
I will for sure watch for more books by Lauren Sams.
Thanks for giving my the chance to read this copy in advance.
In a follow up to She’s Having Her Baby, Georgie us trying to juggle a work life balance along with raising her daughter Pip.
As she returns to the workforce her boss SEEMED perfect. Throughout the book, her boss Meredith seems more like Miranda Priestly from Devil Wears Prada.
This was a cute fun read.
Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've read the Lauren Sams first book and this is the sequel, I have finished it and I want more from these characters. I hope that's a possibility but maybe one more wouldn't be enough that's how much I love them!
A twist happened that I was ultra pleased about. Despite not been a mum myself I enjoyed hearing about the mum aspect of this book and how juggling everything is such a major difficulty . There was some people who Georgia worked with that I wanted to shout at as they were rude or thought they were better than everyone else. I love Georgia and her Pippa daughter, and during the book I thought I love the name Pippa! I was rooting for Georgia and for her to find happiness. Did she find out she could have it all? you'll have to read this fantastic book to find out. I'd recommend starting with the first book.
Thanks goes to net galley and the publishers for providing me with a copy in exchange for an honest review.
Women's contemporary fiction are usually a hit and miss for me, but this book was absolutely hilarious, entertaining AND had a simple, but important message to tell.
I found myself more than a few times laugh out loud. The humor is great and I can highly recommend this to any mother-to-be or already mum.
This book was better than the latest Sophie Kinsella or Kasey West books. Hands down.
I will be keeping an eye out for more of this author.
Thank you so much Netgalley. This was a treat.

The most standout thing about this book is how real it is. The struggle with juggling both kids and career is difficult and the author raised some thoughts I’d had myself many a time. The quote about life before baby and life after baby is so true. This book was entertaining, honest and very easy to read. I was sad about the friendship deteriorating however that was realistic also unfortunately. It’s very hard to have it all.
This book is real. I don't have kids but I identified with the struggle when you are emotionally and physically taxed. I would read more from this author.
