Well done to the author on her debut novel, a novel that will stay with people for quite a while.
The story is told through two points of view. Catherine and Lucian.
After a traumatic event Catherine has become mute. We don’t know what the event was until much later. While reading this I felt it was like one big puzzle... the more you read of it the more the pieces start coming together.
After reading the blurb I couldn’t wait to read this. I did think it was dragged out but I still enjoyed it. I’m looking forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I realised that I had read this book before. Here is my review.
This is a book about relationships, love, lies and friendship. There is a lot to this story and I found it be an addictive read. The only thing that annoyed me about the story and the plot was that it seemed to take too long to reveal what Catherine had witnessed.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.

I got into this from the off, enjoyed the writing style, descriptions and unique second person narration in many parts. Unfortunately, by around 30% in, I'm too bored to carry on and finding it a little slow. I would try this author again though, because the writing is skillful and descriptions beautiful.

I couldn't finish Him, while I found the storyline interesting it's lost within the writing style. Too slow for me and also slightly confusing. I really wanted to love it buts it's not for me.

Emotionally charged and a compulsive read. The triple timeline and dual perspectives work well, giving us a real sense of the characters and story arc. Great musical references are an added bonus.
