I did not realize that this was a true story until I had finished it. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book because it had everything in it .I learned about pigeon racing , whippets and horse racing. There was a lot of happiness init and will read it again .

Dream Horse that is now being made into a film with Toni Collette. A true story of a Welsh woman's determination to take on the giants of horse racing after being raised on the back of the allotments.
More than a story of a racing horse but how a small valley in Wales became to dream of a winning race horse.

I loved this book and was gunning for Janet the whole way through.

This is a book about racing and winning. It is about impossible dreams that come true and I was cheering Dream on in all of the races discussed.

What a fantastic tale from rags to the top of racing! Glad I read it

This was a double bonus for me reading this book as both Whippets and horses were featured! A really easy read for anyone who loves horses and the National Hunt racing. Janet is an ordinary woman with all her hopes and dreams fixed on a horse she bred herself, Dream Alliance. A heartwarming story and very moving. My thanks to Net Galley for my ARC. Thank you for NetGalley for an advance copy of this book. I just loved it ! A must for any follower or interested bystander who occasionally watches the english National Hunt scene. The book was an easy flowing read charting all the ups and downs of normal people struggling to make their way. It is the application to each hobby that many will recognise - the wish to beat all their competitors.
It is a great book which I will buy in hardback just to keep on the shelf. My only disappointment was to read right at the end that a ghost writer had been employed. I always feel slightly seen off when this happens - I feel duped to believing that the name on the cover is the person who puts pen to paper but perhaps that is just my naivety.
