Thank you NetGalley and Raven Books (Bloomsbury) for an extract of Never Have I Ever.

OMG. What an introduction chapter. We are immediately thrown into a scene that starts off as an innocent book club get together but escalates into full blown debauchery after Roux decides to get a game of Never Have I Ever started. The caveat? The stakes keep increasing until you've uncovered the worst thing you've done in your life. Everything seems to be all fun and games until Roux alludes to Amy (MC) that Amy has done something far worse than anyone in the room.

I will definitely be getting a copy of this book when it comes out! I need to know what happens!!

This looks so good! Ok, so I have to agree with others that it only being the first chapter was really frustrating, but that's because I got into it so quickly that I just wanted to carry straight on and read it all in one go.

Obviously, hard to review, but I will say that Roux seems like a great villain if you will. Threatening, but also unique - something about her felt special, and unlike anything I'd read before.

I've never read anything by Jackson before, but I must admit this has be intrigued, and could end up being my first!

I really should've paid attention to the fact that this was an extract of a book prior to downloading it because now I don't know how the book is going to end. Since I could only read chapter one, my rating for this book will be based upon that and my frustration that one chapter is all you offered the readers. The plot was okay. It was kind of sketchy for me in some spots and confusing as to who I should be paying more attention to... Amy or Roux? I do not believe that I will attempt to read this book once it actually is released for purchase.

This is just the first chapter of this book, but it left me wanting to know more and read the rest, especially to find out what dark secrets are going to come out between this group of friends and where they will lead.

This was just a snippet of the book given as an E-ARC to get you hooked and wanting to read the whole book. You think your past is in the past---wrong! Someone out there knows! I can't wait to read the entire book! Thank you NetGalley for the extract E-ARC of this for an honest review.

I was offered an extract/exerpt of this new book, which is the first chapter. It was very compelling and I really want to read the whole book!

Although the opening of this novel is strong, I didn’t realize this was just an excerpt and I don’t see the point of reviewing it on my sites. I’m a huge JJ fan and would be honored to review the full novel, however! (Pretty pretty please!). It felt like a bit of a bait and switch to get excited about being approved for this book and then feeling disappointed when I realized what it was. I’m still giving it four stars for what I read, however.

This was an ARC extract of the book from Netgalley and the publishers and it was an interesting and intriguing start. I will probably get the book to read the rest of it to satisfy my curiosity. The female neighbours assemble for their regular book club meeting and the new neighbour from the Airbnb house comes along to and takes over.
Interesting start.

Never Have I Ever by Joshilyn Jackson has a very promising start in the small introduction. A group of young mothers gather for a weekly wine, gossip and a book club. A new neighbor, Roux joins the group at the last minute and derails the usual conversation until only a few women are left and after plying them with more alcohol than is usually consumed starts a game called Never Have I Ever. The game goes awry and the newcomer seems to know a secret about one of the women Amy than she should.
Based on the introduction I would give this a try. Thanks to #netgalley #bloomsburypublishing for the extract and the opportunity to give my opinion. #neverhaveiever

Oy. I missed the EXTRACT in the book. I thought my kindle zoomed to the end. It started fine... then. Hard to review a chapter. I suppose I would purchase it, just to see what happens.
Thanks, NetGalley for the EXTRACT to review.

Ok, I need this book NOW!!!!!! This book right here. I need to read this to find out who Roux is and what she is up too. If the sample is any indication of the rest of the book, this is a winner. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for the arc of this book in return for my honest review. By receiving the book in this manner had no bearing on my review.

Thank you to Net Galley and Bloomsbury Publishing for an extract of the beginning of this title. All opinions are my own. Normally, I hesitate to get an extract, because then I'm left wanting more. In this case, I'm glad I did it. The plot drew me in immediately, and I wondered which of my friends would be Roux, and which might have been the other characters. I disliked Roux so much immediately, because I'm the one who doesn't like to make waves. Does Roux know something about the others and does she have an agenda? Or, is it a fluke that she seems to be pinpointing everyone's weaknesses? I cannot wait until this comes out in July 2019.

Oh wow how teaser-y is this extract from the forthcoming Joshilyn Jackson book,'Never Have I Ever'?
I read it in what felt like the blink of an eye before throwing myself on the floor and yelling 'Noooooo!' when I realised I had turned the last page!
What she does is very celverly set the scene with the main character, first person narrator Amy,who is getting ready with her best friend Char for the 'Brain-Dead Mommies Book Club'. They are tired of being tired from being mums to little humans and want to read again, starting with 'The House Of Mirth'.
The politics of motherhood are swiftly conveyed, there are the control freaks, the soccer mums etc and into this basement comes Roux. She is renting what Char refers to as 'The Sprite House', a neighbourhood Air B'n'B which is the bane of most of the cul de sacs life.
Roux is a breath of fresh air and accidentally commandeers the whole meeting.
One at a time the women drift away leaving 6 women who decide to play a grown up version of 'Never Have I Ever' but this time, it's the worst thing that you have done that day. Then the fireworks start...
I cannot wait to read the rest of this when it comes out!
Thank you so much Netgalley and Bloomsbury for letting me read this !

If the purpose of releasing an opening chapter is to get people wanting to read the full book, then this absolutely succeeds.

Amy's first-person narrative gives us a number of insights into her small mommy community, which is suddenly burst open with the arrival of newcomer Roux. And we're in no doubt as to what this arrival might mean for Amy because she is remonstrating with herself on page one that she could so easily have let such a force into her house, saying: "She didn't look like my own destruction to me."

Tate, Charlotte, Panda, Lavonda and most of all Amy sense that Pandora's Box has been opened. As a result, I can't wait to see exactly what high-stakes game Roux is playing...

Many thanks to NetGalley, Bloomsbury Publishing, Raven Books and Joshilyn Jackson for a copy of this teaser.

I had the privilege of reading an excerpt of Never Have I Ever, and I'm hooked! These ladies are so well drawn as we're introduced to each character. I'm dying to know the secrets they are hiding, and how newcomer Roux knows these secrets. I can't wait to get my hands on the full book, on sale July 30 and on shelves Aug 30.
