When I first read PS I Love You back in 2004 my life had been turned upside down, I had just got divorced and was just starting a new relationship and then I read PS and it really resonated with me, the loss and the change that Holly had to go through to continue to live her life after the death of Gerry, So I was delighted to be chosen to read the sequel.

In postscript, It has been seven years since Gerrys death and Holly has moved on, She has a new boyfriend and she's working in her sister's vintage clothing shop and life is good, but when her sister ask her to do a podcast about her letters that Gerry left for her, she has no idea that her carefully created new life will be rocked to the core when a listener and customer of the shop decides that she wants Holly to help her and other terminally ill people write letters for their loved ones and she calls it the PS I Love You Club and just like that Holly finds the ghost of Gerry is everywhere making her rethink everything that has happened to her.

Cecelia Ahern has a wonderful way of writting great characters that you really want to know and care about, and like any friend you will find yourself running a gauntlet of emotions with them, happy, frustrated and sad but ultimately cheering her on to succeed what ever she chooses to do.

a lovely heartwarming story which is a follow up years on from ps I love you....the loveable characters and the inevitable welling up. It’s not as devastatingly sad as the first but it is very sweet. Thank you so much for the read!

There are few books that really have really touched my heart and brought tears to my eyes as much as this book.
The p.s. I love you club is a group of people brought together in the back of Holly's podcast where she tells of the letters her late husband left her after his death from a brain tumour. Her story inspires lots of other people who have been given a terminal diagnosis to leave behind some sort of legacy for their grieving family or partners.
There are no huge spoilers in the book as there can be no surprise reprieves but the way it is written is allows you to follow the stories with every fibre of your being.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book. I couldn't put it down.

Fabulous, heartwarming, funny, poignant and at times heartbreakingly sad,
Now I should say that this is not my normal genre of books, I’m normally your murder mystery sort of girl. I first read PS I Love you some 15 years ago and cried, a lot. I re read it two days ago in preparation for Postscript and sobbed all the way though again!- but it was worth it, because it was just lovely to meet back up with Holly, and all the other characters 7 years on. It was like meeting up with old friends. Postscript is original, clever and a brilliant read. It is engaging and heartwarming and I was pleased I had control of myself this time - until towards the end that was 😢
A book to pull at the heartstrings of the hardest amongst us.

Tissues at the ready! This IS the tearjerker novel of the year.
For fans of PS I love you, comes the long awaited sequel charting Holly’s progress, seven years on from the death of her husband Gerry.
Holly has found love with Gabriel but as ever the path of (true) love never does run smooth especially when you’re still grieving your late husband and having difficulty moving on. Life becomes further complicated following a podcast Holly reluctantly features in, talking about the letters Gerry left for her after his death. Naturally listeners are inspired by Holly’s story and see her as someone who could offer guidance etc in their own similar situations. Will this be a positive role for Holly to embrace or will it be her undoing??
Unashamedly sentimental, there are some beautiful passages in this book about death, bereavement, grief and letting go of the past , proving that Ms Ahern is at the top of her game. So whilst the reader is engrossed in Holly’s continuing journey without Gerry, as well as the stories of the other members of this unusual club, the whole narrative provides the basis for much thought and discussion about these often taboo subjects.
For me Ginika and Jewel’s story was my unravelling. Feisty, brave and determined, Ginika is bursting with love underneath her tough exterior for her baby girl and the relationship that develops between her and Holly is inspiring and uplifting and a joy to read.
The characters of Sharon and Denise provide an added touch of humour to this novel with some hilarious exchanges between the pair. Postscript isn’t a depressing read, rather it is poignant, heartbreaking and also full of hope. Incredibly easy to read, I was wrapped up in all the characters lives and Holly’s quest to help those facing their final days.
The novel is also about the growth of Holly as an individual, how she can learn from others to enable her to move forward. She is such a warm, giving and stoic character that you can’t fail to love.
A huge thank you to Harper Collins (and Netgalley) for giving me the opportunity to read Postscript in exchange for an honest review. Obviously a massive thank you to Celia Ahern for delighting her readers with this sequel. No doubt this will be a bestseller and deservedly so!!

I began this book with mixed feelings. I was excited as I, like many others, absolutely loved P.S I Love You, but nervous as I didn’t want this book to ‘let it down’. I needn’t have worried as Ahern has written a beautiful sequel to a much loved book, one which does it justice and makes you re-examine the original story, without taking anything away from it.
We return the the life of Holly Kennedy, 7 years after Gerry’s death and she’s grown and changed so much. We follow her as she begins working to help people suffering a terminal diagnosis, helping them leave messages to their loved ones. We follow her journey, which is not always straightforward and I felt I learned along with her what leaving a letter meant for those facing their deaths. Ahern had me laughing and crying in all the right places.
It was lovely to get to meet characters that meant a lot in the original book and to see where their lives had taken them too.
I’d definitely recommend you read this book, even if you haven’t read the prequel it’s still beautifully written and thought provoking.
Thank you to netgalley, the publishers and the author for gifting me a copy of this book on exchange for an honest, unbiased review.

It's been seven years since Holly Kennedy's husband died – six since she read his final letter, urging Holly to find the courage to forge a new life.
Postscript is a perfect sequel to P.S I Love You. It's beautifully written, emotional and keeps true to the original characters

It's tale of life after loss, of staying true to yourself and of hope even in the face of sadness. It's about friendship, it's about making a difference and it's about love. A beautiful tale of how leaving a legacy behind helps the process of dying knowing you interacting even when you are not around. Inspired me to leave notes to loved ones just when going on holiday - little motivational notes to know that I love them

A brilliant read and highly recommended

I was so excited to read this book. P.S. I love You is one of my absolute favourite books. I was a little worried that this might not live up to my expectations as I enjoyed the first book so much but I was certainly not disappointed. This is so cleverly written. I love the way this intertwined with the original book and helped you to understands Gerry's journey and why he wrote the letters. Holly's journey in this book really helps you to come to terms with the loss of a love one and that no matter how hard grief is we have to carry on. Cecilia Ahern is such an accomplished writer. This book will certainly live on in my heart forever, If I could give this more than 5 stars I would.

I'll give you some sound advice before you start to read this book, don't whatever you do attempt to read it in public, it's best read in a nice quiet room with no distractions and plenty of drinks and snacks readily available so you don't have to keep breaking off from reading. It is an absolutely brilliant read, a story of, loss, grief, hope, new beginnings and love. It is sensitively written, one minute you are happy for the characters and the next overwhelmingly sad, the author must accept praise for such a well-written story.

If you were a fan of P.S I love you, you'll love this sequel. We join Holly seven years after the death of her husband Gerry. She's moved on somewhat and is now in a new relationship about to move in with her new man. Then her sister persuades her to do a podcast about the letters her husband left for her and everything changes.

This is an emotional book about grief and how it affects us. It's not perfect. Much of what happens is not all that believable and characters are not always fully drawn. However there a lot of wisdom in its pages and I can imagine that many people will find solace in it.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.

After reading Ps I Love You over the years I was very excited to find out there was going to be a sequel.

I would say Postscript has been totally worth the wait! Discovering Holly’s character eight years after Gerry’s passing has been eye opening and inspirational. She is brave and determined to help other terminally ill leave messages for their loved ones leading the Ps I Love You Club to be founded. Whilst reading the story of each member of the club I have had to try (and fail) to hold back the tears. I could see this being made into a film and it would be a huge hit. I won’t go into specific backstories as that would spoil the impact.

I am a massive fan of Cecelia’s books and this is no different. The way she pulls you into the story is magical. I didn’t want it to end so I savoured every page. This is definitely a story I will read again in the future.

Postscript is a long awaited inspirational story about hope, love, grief and helping others ❤️ I wish I could give this story way more than 5* 😊

Postscript Cecelia Ahern
I’m struggling to know where to begin with this book, my mind is reeling and my eyes are sore!
PS I Love You was the first book that made me ‘ugly cry’, so this book, a follow-up, had a lot to live up to! Rejoining Holly has been a total pleasure (& exhausting!). The first half of the book I was enjoying reading, it was pleasant and entertaining.... and then... OMG... it has been a long time since I put my life on hold to read solidly, but I couldn’t do anything else. I have gripped a tissue frequently & had to pause whilst my eyes refocused! Even though I thought I could see where the story was going, Cecelia’s emotional writing both moved and surprised me. I loved it! Brilliant follow up! And now what?

TW: discussions of death

Thank you so so much Harper Collins Publishers for reaching out to me and asking if I wanted to receive an ARC of Postscript. I was absolutely over the moon but all my views and opinions discussed here are my own.

It has taken me so long to get around to writing this review because I just wasn't sure that my heart could take it. Oh this book 😭😭😭 💔💔💔 it absolutely destroyed me. I was so worried about reading this because I wasn't sure if it was going to ruin my memories and experience that I had all those years ago with PS, I Love You. I HAD NO NEED TO BE WORRIED. This book excelled all expectations that I ever could have had and was such a roller-coaster ride of emotions.

I full on sobbed to this book; it is such a strong read and it really feels that Holly has matured along with the audience and I feel this book was just so well developed from the first. I honestly preferred this so much more over PS, I love you because I feel Holly really comes into her own in this book. This book is about her whilst I feel that PS, I love you was really about Gerry and his story for Holly. Holly was herself and front and center in this book and I adored her. Watching her still struggle with her life and try to navigate how she moves forward whilst still dealing with the grief of Gerry was so raw and just utterly touched my heart. I sobbed in a caravan in Lincolnshire.

I sobbed so hard when we found that Gerry had left another letter for Holly; this was such a real shock because I really didn't expect it but it also makes absolute sense. Gerry left a path for Holly to move forward along so I love that he left her one final letter for a big moment in her life. I also loved Holly's reflections on the letters and her mixed emotions about whether she enjoyed them or not; I love that we actually got to explore this and the impact it had on her, both positive and negative. I think that really played into how she helped those involved in the club, because she has been in the position of the family member getting the letter and knows that sometimes, those letters can be a hindrance just as much as a help.

My favourite new character has to be Ginika. She utterly broke my heart; she was so strong and brave throughout the story and she must have been in so much pain at the thought of not seeing her baby grow up. Her letter was absolutely perfect; I love that she didn't put expectations on her baby about who she would be when she grew up. She told her who she was when Ginika knew her AND I LOVED THIS. I love that Ginika's story tied in well with Denise; I loved Denise and thought she got quite a hard ride in both books from Holly and Sharon so i'm glad she got a happy but bittersweet ending. I also loved that Holly helped Ginika to learn to write so she could write her own letter, MY HEART.

I honestly think my favourite bit was the last few pages where we got to see the PS, I Love You Club in action and got to see all the gifts be delivered to the loved ones. Oh this just utterly destroyed me.

I would wholeheartedly recommend this book; it is utterly amazing and heart-wrenching and so damn good. It was a well-awaited sequel that surpassed the first book. I loved it. I loved it. I loved it. Thank you so much Cecilia for bringing these people back into my life.

A beautiful and warm thought provoking story about love and loss and about what and who we leave behind when we’re gone.

I absolutely adored the first book of this series PS I love you along with enjoying the film even though they were both very different. I was slightly wary about reading this because I always worry that the sequel to something I originally loved won’t live up to my expectations but I needn’t have worried. Cecelia Ahern tells Holly’s story beautifully and we get to hear more stories about Gerry along with a surprise or two thrown in along the way. The story is about how one persons actions can effect a multitude of people and how they can live on through others.

I’ve been debating between scoring this a 4 or a 5 ever since i finished reading it. I was adamant on a 4 until the last couple of chapters and they reflected on the message and meaning behind the book and they really touched me. However I’m going to settle for a 4.5 as a couple of things niggled me in regards to a few of Holly’s life choices and how she left certain friendships without making amends but all in all a wonderful story. I don’t tend to read emotional stories about death and such because they turn me into an emotional wreck but this one is worth the exception.

I read PS I Love You when it was first published and loved it. As so many years have passed since I read it I was sceptical about reading a sequel in case it went in a different direction to what I imagined for the characters. I realise my doubts were misplaced as I was immediately transported back to the world of Holly and Gerry and loved finding out where Holly is seven years after Gerry's death. This is a perfect sequel which honours PS I Love You beautifully. The depictions of grief are authentic, realistic and very well observed. A brilliant read.
