This is the first book I have read from this author.

In Sheba’s Ghost we see that Sheba has found her husband dead after 40 years of marriage. She begins the struggle of living alone with David. However, soon things change when lost items disappear and the reappear. She can actually smell his scent, and even hears him call her name. Definitely an interesting read.

The characters were interesting and the storyline was easy to follow. Intrigued to read more from this author.

The narrator of this story is a woman who enjoyed ahappy and fulfilling marriage, until suddenly, without warning, her husband dies.
Sheba, the narrator of this story, then discovers that it is not just her husband she has lost, but the entity that was their relationship - and with it, most of her reason for living. Bridge parties are no longer feasible now, as she is no longer in a partnership. Her social status is also diminished.
She is too resilient to give to a complicated grief. One of the problems she experiences is that rather too many friends and relatives are already matchmaking, something she has little time for, and even less for the hapless men that come her way.
Sheba experiences things others similarly bereaved may or may not be familiar with. She senses her husband near her, vividly smells his scent, hears his voice in her head.
This novel may speak most powerfully to those who have experienced a loss of this nature, or know someone who has. There can be a tendency to to try and 'fix' the bereaved, where the process should perhaps be more respected. Sheba has her own message to pass on to these fixers and that is perhaps more important than anything else: this is far less a ghost story than one about the need to find closure in one's own way.

Description
Sheba finds her husband of 40 years dead on their sofa. Soon enough, she realizes he wasn’t the only one to lose his life. No longer part of a couple, Sheba feels quarantined, untouchable. Her home is silent and empty; her social life dwindles. Attempting to create a new life, she explores volunteer work and even computer dating, all without much success. Yet gradually she suspects her beloved, David, may be dead but not gone: Lost items reappear, she sniffs his scent, hears him call her name, sees light orbs in photographs. She wants to share her joy at this discovery, but neither her friends nor her family wants to hear her story. They don’t want to believe. So, what happens at Sheba’s, stays at Sheba’s.
I found the book to be ok. It was Sheba 's story of carrying on after David her late husband passed away, She clearly feels his ghost and everyone refuses to hear her out.
