Kendra Elliot finishes her Mercy Killpatrick series with an adrenaline fueled bang that will leave you on the edge of your seat praying for a happily ever after for her and her little family. Mercy is chosen to go undercover with a group of peppers where there is a very real threat of a terrorist plot that might just be to much for Mercy to handle. Whilst no one is told exactly where she will be going, they do know that there will be no contact, which is very hard on all of them, especially Mercy and Truman. Bodies keep turning up all over Trumans town, and he is trying to stay busy, until his case brings him to Mercys and that's when he discovers where she really is. It's brilliant and terrifying, satisfying and epic and it truly is the perfect ending to Mercy and her eccentric family and friends and I truly hope we see them again soon. Just a little visit will do nicely!

Sad to see this series end. Not my favorite because little interaction with Mercy and Truman (or the rest of the family). Still good and a satisfactory ending.

This is t he 6th and final book in this series. This is one of my all time favorite authors and I love all of her series. I hate to see this series come to an end. The book is full of danger, romance, emotions, and wonderful characters. I highly recommend this book to any mystery series

This is the final book in the Mercy Kilpatrick series. It can be read as a stand-alone but will benefit the reader to be read as a part of the series.

Mercy finds herself undercover, alone, and with no means of communication. The militia group she’s infiltrated is suspected of dealing arms and conspiring against the Government. They do not take lightly to outsiders and punish those who break the rules, severely. Truman is beside himself when he finds out Mercy’s assignment has went sideways and he finds himself willing to do whatever it takes to find his fiancé.

Kendra Elliot ends the series with an emotional, action packed narrative. As usual, her characters are wrought with depth and the plot line is primarily character driven. In this installment, the crime/police procedural takes a minor back seat to the emotional aspect of the characters as Elliot leads the foretelling of their futures and wraps up the storyline of the series. 4 stars.

Thank you to #NetGalley and #MontlakeRomance for this ARC of #AMercifulPromise

I have been very fortunate to find authors who excel at their craft in all of the genres that I read. One of my favorites in romantic suspense is this author, Kendra Elliot. I have read all of her books, and each one I download or buy is like a Christmas present...pretty wrapping and a wonderful gift inside!

A Merciful Promise is the latest, and possibly the last, in the Mercy Kilpatrick series set in rural Oregon. Each book has been an absolute pleasure to read, and this one is no different. To recap for anyone who has not read the first books, Mercy is an FBI special agent based in the bureau's Portland office. A case brings her back to the small town of Eagle's Nest where she was born and raised, the youngest daughter in a family of preppers- people who are prepared, at any moment, for the government to collapse and anarchy and chaos to take over the world. Mercy is involved with several high profile cases, and as she solves crimes she is also working at making amends with her family and trying to bridge the years that she was gone. She has fallen in love with the police chief of Eagle's Nest, Truman Daly and they are planning their wedding.

This story opens with Mercy being tapped to infiltrate a militia compound deep in the Oregon wilderness, a compound whose members follow their leader almost blindly. Rumors are heard that something big is about to go down, but no one knows what. Mercy is hesitant, but realizes she is the person best qualified to do the job. Cut off from the world, with no backup, can she determine the plan that is being hatched, stop it, and survive?

While Mercy is gone, strange things start happening near Eagle's Nest. Truman struggles to understand why bodies are appearing in the country around his town. Nude males, shot execution style, with no identification have been dumped. Working together with the county sherriff's department, Truman tries to put the pieces together.

I love these characters, and I love this series. Kendra Elliot has written another one that will go on my shelf!

Full review to be published online in late June.

A MERCIFUL PROMISE is the sixth book in the riveting ‘Mercy Thomas’ series; and apparently the final installment to the series. Mercy has been borrowed from her FBI unit by the ATF to help in a deep undercover assignment. They are investigating the group as possibly being behind a hijacking of a weapons transfer, and there is a possibility that the group may be planning a terrorist attack. The paramilitary group doesn’t allow outside contact, so Mercy will be completely hidden away from the outside world. In the meantime, Mercy's boyfriend, police chief Truman Daly, is investigating a series of murders where men are being shot execution style and the bodies dumped in his jurisdiction.

A MERCIFUL PROMISE is another great read by Kendra Elliot. If it is indeed the end if the series. It is a fitting one. Recommended read.

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this arc.
A Merciful Promise is the 6th and final in the series.
What a way to end the series. Kendra Elliot you definitely kept the best till last!
Mercy is sent in undercover to join another agent and infiltrate a militia style group or cult! She's not allowed contact with anyone outside the group and has no way of doing so!
Mercy's and her fiance Truman's wedding is due to take place in the coming months.
Meanwhile Truman is dealing with unexplained murders. Could they be related to Mercy's case??
An action packed and fast paced story right to the end.
I'm sad to see the end of the Mercy and Truman storyline, but again I say "What An Ending"! And I'm definitely looking forward to the next and exciting new surprise from the so, so talented Kendra Elliot.

This last book in the Mercy Kilpatrick series is a thrilling and satisfying end to a great series. It is an action packed story full of tension, danger, suspense, intrigue and emotion. Mercy is a survivor. In this story both her physical and mental survival skills are severely challenged and Truman has to face the anxiety and agony of not knowing if the women he loves is alive or dead. The authors vivid writing makes you feel the emotions the characters are going through and you experience the desperation, fear, despair and love right along with them. Even though this is a fitting end to a well written series, I will still really miss Mercy and her cobbled together family.

I'm sad that the end of the Mercy Kilpatrick series is here! This was my first set of series I have read by Kendra Elliot and it has led to me digging in to her other books.

In a Merciful Promise, Mercy goes undercover at the very last minute into a militia amassing guns. These are dangerous men and Mercy soon finds herself in an extremely dangerous and vulnerable situation with no way to communicate to the FBI.

Truman himself stays busy while Mercy is away, but that doesn't ease the loneliness he feels without her or the worry he has when he encounters several murders that could all tie in with what Mercy is investigating.

Once again, I love the suspense and drama of the writing. Kendra Elliot has a way of drawing you into the story and rooting for the minor characters along with the MCs.

While this is the end of the Mercy series, we are treated with her wedding that was amazing! As well- teased that she may be included as a minor appearance in future books.

I received an ARC copy of this book from the Publisher via Netgalley and voluntarily leaving my review.

This is the last book in this series and it was a great journey getting to know Mercy Kirkpatrick.

When Mercy is ask to infiltrate a militia group she unable to tell anyone what she doing.

As she goes deeper she find the leader of the group as cruel a violent person who doesn't hesitant take to use violence to control over the group. As she finds that she can't communicate she has to stay a step ahead to keep herself alive.

Her fiance Truman has his hand full when 3 bodies found in various locations in his county as he investigate you start to wonder if both case are related I won't spoiled but you have to read it your self.

This is a great satisfying end to this book series.

A Merciful Promise the sixth and last book in the Mercy Kirkpatrick series is a rollercoaster of a ride with Mercy placed in heart pounding danger. She is asked help infiltrate a group of militia in an isolated forest community. She is unable to tell her fiancé Police Chief Truman Daly anything about her mission.
Truman is kept busy with 3 bodies found in various locations in his county. Meanwhile Mercy is having an extremely difficult time with the militia, they are suspicious and their leader is a cruel hard man handing out terrible punishments for any infringements of his rules.
As things go from bad to worse for Mercy, with no means of escape or ability to communicate with the outside world it looks as if it’s the end for her.
A great story with hold your breath moments, the relationship between Mercy and Truman remains steadfast and beautiful. I was so saddened that this was to be the end, but what a wonderful and fitting end it was.
My grateful thanks to net galley and publisher Montlake for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

A Merciful Promise is the sixth and final installment to the Mercy Kilpatrick series. The Bend FBI office is approached by the ATF for assistance with an assignment - they have an agent in deep cover with a radical militia and he's obtained permission to bring in his girlfriend. Unfortunately, the ATF agent who was supposed to join him has shingles - and the ATF wants Mercy as a replacement. They are investigating the group as possibly being behind a hijacking of a weapons transfer in which two of their agents died and there is some suggestion that the group may be planning a terrorist attack. The ATF insists it has to be Mercy - she looks enough like the ATF agent to pull it off and has the background to pull off the assignment on short notice. The mission is deep cover and the militia doesn't allow phones, so Mercy has to agree to be off the grid for up to several weeks.

Meanwhile, Eagles Nest Police Chief - and Mercy's fiance - Truman Daly is investigating a series of body dumps in the area. The case involves several men being murdered with execution style gunshots to the head; then men are then stripped to boxer shorts and dumped.

In her undercover assignment, Mercy finds herself in a worrisome situation - the militia is run by a violent and charismatic leader who only trusts a small inner circle and doesn't hesitate to use barbaric, cruel methods of punishment to gain compliance from the members of the group. With no way out of the remote compound and no means of communication, the assignment is increasingly dangerous.

I absolutely flew through this book. I was captivated from the first page to the end and read it in a matter of hours. While this is the sixth installment of this series, it could be read as a standalone novel although then you would be depriving yourself of five other very enjoyable books.

I am sad that this the finale to the Mercy Kilpatrick series. Mercy is a fantastic heroine - tough, capable, prepared for anything, and badass. I will miss reading about her exploits. I'm excited to read any of Kendra Elliot's future works as her writing style is engaging, readable, and entertaining.

Sadly this is the final book in the Mercy series and I'm sad to see it go but can't wait to see what Kendra Elliot writes next! Mercy is undercover in a cult when she is found out will she be able to get out alive? The book starts a bit slow but quickly ramps up to the typical great suspense of Kendra's books! The Mercy series is ended with a great finale and a wedding (finally) . Love this series I will miss the characters they have become like family to me. If you have not read this series you are seriously missing out. A bit of romance, lots of suspense and great story lines in every single book. Highly recommend!!!

This is the 6th and final book in the Mercy Kilpatrick series. This book, like the other in the series, keeps a fast pace and doesn't take a breather. I am sad to see this series end. The author has a way of writing her characters in a way to make you want to see what happens to them, to see them grow. Its not just the main characters, either, she develops the secondary character as well. That is why I usually recommend for people to read the series from the beginning even though this is written as a stand alone.

Mercy is asked by the ATF to replace one of their undercover agents that has fallen ill. Her partner is already under and she would play his girlfriend, but they can't call and let him know of the switch. See, Mercy would be totally off the grid with a militia group. She can't tell anyone where she is going, including her fiance, Truman. All she can tell him is that she will be away for a couple of weeks and will not have any way of communicating with the outside world. While she is gone, Truman gets involved with investigating some murders, which may be connected. Will Mercy be able to get the information that the ATF needs before she gets caught?

With this being the last book, I was hoping for Mercy and Truman working a case together, not them being apart for most of the book. It almost felt as if this really wasn't the last in this series, so that was a little disappointing. The story, however, doesn't disappoint. It makes you want to keep reading to find out what happens, with both story lines. There was one mystery that wasn't solved by the end of the book, what was Mercy's reaction to Truman's wedding gift?

Another fast paced, exciting story in this series.. The characters are varied and interesting and it's good to catch up with them.

Another good story from Kendra Eliot. This time, Mercy Kilpatrick is undercover, embedded with a militia group not too far off from the survivalist group she grew up in. The difference: her parents weren't planning on killing anyone. With Truman at hime, wiling away the hours she gone - no contact allowed - and hoping she'll be back and able to get ready for the upcoming, wedding, simultaneous plotlines run thru the book. Truman has a case that may or may not be a serial killer among them, and Mercy's father's got some upsetting health news.
Told in rotating POVs this book as all the other Mercy books is a well thought out, planned and executed story.
Eliot never disappoints.
