I have really enjoyed reading this series. Mercy, the preppier and FBI agent, is such a strong female character and being a part of her story of finding love and her way back to her family has been has been so much fun that I’m sorry it’s ended. This series is really about the mysteries, though, and this one is so worthy of a series finale. Mercy is undercover in a militia group and just about everything that can go wrong, does. I was reading this one long after my bedtime just to finish. I love Truman’s dedication to Mercy, his dedication to his job and how well the author brought Mercy’s story and Truman’s together in this mystery. Sad to see this series end.
Book 6 in the series, and what a fantastic book it is.
Mercy finds herself in so much danger in this book, you'll be hanging onto every word praying she makes it out alive.
Poor Truman has no idea what undercover assignment Mercy has taken on, but when the truth comes to light he wonders if he'll get to marry Mercy, or even see her alive again.
A twist involving Mercy's family comes to pass in this book as well, which adds another layer to the story.
Edge of your seat, page turner. You can't help but be drawn into the story because within minutes of starting the book you're already invested in the health and safety of the characters.
Kendra makes her books come alive in your mind.. Another outstanding book by Kendra Elliot!
Mercy is a FBI agent who has been asked by ATF to go undercover in a militia group. She can tell no one not even her fiancé, Truman. He’s a cop and knows sometimes Mercy can’t give him details. But when dead bodies start showing up, Truman thinks they are related. Mercy is trying to find out what the group is up to and where the stolen guns are. Cam Mercy keep her cover or will she be outed and punished?
Short review but I didn’t want to give anything away. A totally edge of your seat story with action and suspense. This is the last of this series and this is the first one I’ve read. This book will keep you hooked and reading until the end.

From the very first sentence I was pulled into the story and held my breath until the very end. Well not quite held my breath, but I could not imagine a better way to end this incredible series. The story once again is about Special Agent Mercy Kilpatrick, who works FBI and her fiancé Eagle Nest police Chief Truman Daly. They both have “adopted” Ollie and Kaylie, who is Mercy’s niece. The blended family have tragedy in their lives that has them all brought together. Mercy is on a undercover assignment to infiltrate a militia group who is rumored to being to do something “big.” She meets ATF agent Chad and it just explodes into on your seat, heart thumping story. Betrayal, loyalty, anger and love and forgiveness is some of the emotions this story has put me through. Gripping almost to the very end, I cannot say enough about this story and the incredible series that Kendra Elliot has written. Her very best! Bittersweet due to the last in the series, but hopefully they will return in another series which I’m sure will be just as amazing or better.
The final book in the series has Mercy Kilpatrick having to go undercover in a segregated community that borders on being a fanatical cult.
There are many things about being a survivalist that Mercy still embraces but how this leader runs his community and treats the women and children is the one of things Mercy despised about her upbringing. Having to play subservient is tough for the strong and independent FBI agent. And it's even tougher for her when she is just months away from marrying police chief Truman Daly whom she could not tell where she was going or how long she would be gone for.
I remember starting the first book in the series wary of a heroine like Mercy because of her background. But it only took till the end of that book to fall in love with her and her man Truman and the rest of the series. It's always sad when a series ends but it at least ends very satisfying. Looking forward to whatever comes next from this author.
