I am reviewing a copy of Rediscovering the Reformation: Learning from the Church and It’s Struggles:


Why is it import to rediscover the Reformation, did we ever really allow ourselves to loose what it taught us.


The first fifty years of the Reformation were quite complex when it comes to both relations between different groups and the nature of reforms being proposed. This book goes on to point out that Luthers ideas on the leadership are a part of the Reformation teachings.


We are reminded too that the Early Church did not have access to the Bible’s in the way we do, that in fact it wasn’t until 419 at the Council of Carthage that established the books and the Old and New Testament for both the Western and Eastern Church.


This book goes on to teach us about Calvin and his belief reminding us from the authors perspective the Church could not split because it is Christ’s one body. From this the book will explore themes of Christianity such as the church, attitude to scripture and faith, belief, grace and works seeking wisdom from each of the incarnations of the church that resulted from the disagreements of the sixteenth century.



I found Rediscovering the Reformation to be both educational and enlightening and therefore worthy of five out of five stars!
