Amazing!

I love the first book in this series and I got such a pleasant surprise with this second book. The story is really well written, as can be expected by Michael Connelly.

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves good crime novels.

Michael Connelly, so it's a given that the plot will be satisfying and impossible to guess with the added benefit of 2 great lead characters. Bosch is an old favourite and in Ballard he has created an intriguing lead female with an unusual backstory and demons that are different from the usual cop in crisis whilst feeling completely plausible. She's someone whose fiercely intelligent, not above bending the rules and sometimes isolated in a testosterone fuelled world. I always welcome a new Connelly but this was even more satisfying than usual. Thankyou to Orion and Netgalley for providing me with this free ARC.

Apologies I have already reviewed this when it was published as a hardback last year! Great team up with Bosch and Ballard though.
