I am afraid, contrary to other reviews, I did not like this book at all and in a way I found it annoying in that it's a style of comical chic lit that has missed the band wagon by a very long stretch, if not decades. Similar, but not up to the calibre, of Jilly Cooper, Helen Fielding, Marian Keyes. and many others. Certainly in the beginning almost every sentence was full of remarks aimed at being funny, such as my tummy looked like a packet of ham, sadly these were tired and not at all funny,. . With regard to the story line, would Max, someone who is a world famous mountain climber, educated alongside Prince William, related to royalty with a title in the family and privileged girlfriend, not to mention great wealthy, be looking for female company on a dating site, I think not? But setting that aside he meets Lill, a girl who steals the batteries out of the flatshare Sky remote to put in her vibrator, who shaves her legs, and everywhere else probably, with her flat mates new razor, who take Imodium on this date because she had a curry last night, be someone who is appealling and kind and genuine? Unfortunately I also found that the stable of characters involved in Lill's life were stereotypes of parents, friends, flat mates, including her foreign obstetrician who came across as a copy of the Robin Williams character in Nine Months with Hugh Grant. I'm very sorry to leave such a negative review but I felt quite strongly about these matters as I was working my way through this book.

I absolutely loved this book. Such well written, funny yet relatable characters and set in the modern world without references feeling too forced. You could well imagine yourself being friends with these likeable characters or imagine yourself as part of the plot line.
Money-Coutts calls on her knowledge of the aristocracy without being contrite and offers a refreshing broad background for her characters so as to not get too lost in the rah set.
I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

I was in need of a light-hearted book and this definitely ticked the box, I laughed out loud many times with Lil's anecdotes and her honesty at every thing she deals with is refreshing, no sugar coating anything it's warts and all's descriptions of bodily functions that really made me laugh. I loved her friendships and her developing relationships with Max and her pregnancy turmoils. She'd be great friends with Bridget Jones

4.5 stars

3am I put this down last night. 3am! And I love my sleep. I was completely engrossed in this, I couldn't put it down. I have been so grumpy today, but it was worth it.

I enjoyed the wit and the snark and the storyline kept me reading, long after I should've put my kindle down and gone to sleep.

Unusually for me, the romance was probably the least important part of this story; I was more invested in seeing how Lily adapts and grows -literally as well as emotionally - when she finds herself up the duff after a one night stand. She's real, authentic and genuinely funny, one of those characters that feels like a friend. Love that, just love it.

However, the smut is fab so fear not, it's still a winner for us smut connoisseurs.

I would have liked an epilogue, the ending was a bit abrupt, but otherwise this was a stonking good read.

Complete story, highly recommended.

What happens now by Sophia Money-Coutts was a delight to read. The story follows a young woman who has discovered she is pregnant and deals with the consequences of her one night stand. I was hooked from the very first page of reading. It is extremly funny, light-hearted and well written. I loved the narrator and she did a good job of keeping the reader engaged with her witty narration. This book made me laugh more times I could count and would definatly recommend to anyone looking for a good romcom.  Thank you to Harper Collins and Netgally for allowing me to read and give an honest review of this wonderful book.

At the start of this book I thought that maybe I'd made a mistake requesting it. I was looking for something light-hearted and this seemed to fit my requirements.

I didn't love the first few chapters, the characters were annoying and the details the author went into during the sex scene were unnecessary.

After my initial reservations I found myself warming to the characters particularly Lil, I liked reading about her interactions with family and friends and her job as a teacher.

I liked the no holds barred look at pregnancy and how there was no sugarcoating.

This ending up being the light-hearted, enjoyable read I was after, I'm glad I stuck with it!

I wanted something fun and light to read and this did not disapoint.

The story centers around Lil and her close friends and family. Lil is a teacher at a boy's prep school in London. She's recently had her heart broken and after a one night stand with someone she meets on a dating app (enter a very hot Max!), she finds herself pregnant, oops! We then follow Lil through the ups and downs and hilarious incidents of the next 9 months!

The author writes fluidly, the book is really funny in parts and heartfelt in others. There are also a few steamy encounters in places...
The characters are lovable (including Lil's hilariously odd mother Jackie) and relationships are really important throughout. I especially loved how the author added nearly every family arrangement into this book, and showed how each one could be unique and special in it's own way!

I read this in three days which is really quick for me, as it was such a nice, warm read! I'd recommend to everyone that fancies a bit of escapism and a whole lot of laughs.

Overall a fab book and many thanks to NetGalley and Harper Collins for a very much appreciated ARC!

This uplifting, humorous which does not hold back on the realities of pregnancy was just what I needed to read on a miserable rainy day. I read it in one sitting which meant a sleepless night but it was worth it. I have discovered a new author I need to keep an eye out for.

Lil has not long come out of a long-term relationship and her best friend Jess persuades her to download a dating app and go on a date. This ends up being with Max, a professional climber, and goes really well - up until he ghosts her. And then she discover she's pregnant.

It's light reading, but it's entertaining and the characters are actually people you could imagine meeting in real life. It's one of the appealing aspects of the book, Lil's flatshare is fairly realistic, rather than purely aspirational and the aspirational lifestyle bits of the book are mostly related to the school parents at the posh school where Lil is a teacher. That makes Lil a better narrator, she's also a very funny and blunt one, while her friends also come across as real people - albeit Jess is the only one who is drawn in any depth. The relationship between Lil and Jess is a good one, and one of the strengths of the book. The romance is almost a plot point, rather than the focus of the book, which makes it all the more enjoyable.

In short, a surprisingly fun read for something about accidental pregnancy! Will be perfect for holiday reading, and I will actually seek out Sophia Money-Coutts' first book for the same purpose.
