Due to a passing in the family a few years ago and my subsequent health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for years after the bereavement. Thank you for the opportunity.
Such a fun book to read! Great Wildlife Experiences is adventurous and enjoyable. Perfect for any nature lover!
After reading this book, I'm ready to pack my bags and go visit the UK! I also implemented this into my children's home school Summer supplement. What an amazing book!
Konik ponies, ospreys, Scottish wildcats, avocets, basking seals, and more. The stunning photos in this book are alone worth having, but couple them with an excellent guide to the activity of seeing nature and you're well provided with entertainment as well as information. The author gives a star rating for family friendly (yes if kids can muck about, no if you are not that likely to see the whale) and budget friendly, and ends by recounting his own experience on that trip. Be it snorkelling with sharks, fossicking for fossils, birdwatching or damselfly or daffodil spotting, there is something almost anyone can do. And they are all in Britain. Go for it, support wildlife tourism and wildlife sanctuaries. Another bird is the urban peregrine, in case anyone thinks these are all rural experiences. Bring a camera.
Great book, stories well told. Index P232 - 234.
I downloaded an e-ARC from Net Galley. This is an unbiased review.
I received a copy of this arc from NetGalley for an honest review. If you are headed to the UK anytime soon this would be a great book to bring along with you.
A must read book for anyone planning a vacation. James fair has given us some very valuable tools to make our travel memorable. The photos alone in this book will make you want to go places to see what he has seen. My bucket list just got ALOT longer.
I pick my travel based on location, but another major factor is the wildlife. Fair’s 100 Great Wildlife Experiences: What to See and Where is a great guild for finding wildlife in expected and unexpected places in the UK. This book works with the budget conscience and includes great details including when, where and season, which is a major factor in sighting those special wildlife finds.
I would recommend packing a copy of 100 Great Wildlife Experiences: What to See and Where as a travel guide must for those traveling or planning to the UK. Amazing pictures, great website and tour details that you won’t want to miss. Don't leave home without it.
I received this ARC copy of 100 Great Wildlife Experiences: What to See and Where from Pen & Sword - White Owl. This is my honest and voluntary review. 100 Great Wildlife Experiences: What to See and Where is set for publication June 30, 2019.

Overall all a great book to have when planning today's out in the British Isles
I loved looking through this book. It was a delight to read. Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this book.
This is pretty nice! I thought at first that it would be filled with text but it's actually really short. Just a paragraph or two with some "friendly" information and the rest are pictures of each wildlife there is in the book.
The wildlifes are all from the Great Britain and there is a DIY section with the location and links for more info.
Thank you so much for providing me with the digital copy for an honest review.
Pdf version was difficult for me to access to review, sorry. But I love the idea of this one, it's something I haven't seen before amongst the many activity guides.
I found this book fascinating and informative. The book is divided up into 100 experiences with wildlife not to be missed in the British Isles. It offers pictures, descriptions and then websites/contact details of tours etc used by the author.
Most of these I’d heard of but some I hadn’t and I’m looking forward to discovering some new wildlife sites.
I confess I love theses types of books. All those beautiful places that I want to visit, set up in a book form. I may never really see all the beautiful wild places in the UK detailed in this book, but I can visit them vicariously through gorgeous photos and informative text
This is the perfect book for adventurous little ones and families who are wanting holidays closer to home.
Within this colourful guide is information about some of the most beautiful and spectacular aspects of British wildlife that you will immediately want to view. Each one has contact information for enquiries.
The book has two types of title pages: one that reveals the plants or animals listed by name and another that shows their location.
