This was quite a gripping story about a murder, but who's was it? Who did it? Who knows about it?
The story - as the front page implies - goes back and fore and it was a little confusing until the characters were fleshed out. I liked having bits revealed to me as the story unfolded.

Due to a sudden, unexpected passing in the family a few years ago and another more recently and my subsequent (mental) health issues stemming from that, I was unable to download this book in time to review it before it was archived as I did not visit this site for several years after the bereavements. This meant I didn't read or venture onto netgalley for years as not only did it remind me of that person as they shared my passion for reading, but I also struggled to maintain interest in anything due to overwhelming depression. I was therefore unable to download this title in time and so I couldn't give a review as it wasn't successfully acquired before it was archived. The second issue that has happened with some of my other books is that I had them downloaded to one particular device and said device is now defunct, so I have no access to those books anymore, sadly.

This means I can't leave an accurate reflection of my feelings towards the book as I am unable to read it now and so I am leaving a message of explanation instead. I am now back to reading and reviewing full time as once considerable time had passed I have found that books have been helping me significantly in terms of my mindset and mental health - this was after having no interest in anything for quite a number of years after the passings. Anything requested and approved will be read and a review written and posted to Amazon (where I am a Hall of Famer & Top Reviewer), Goodreads (where I have several thousand friends and the same amount who follow my reviews) and Waterstones (or Barnes & Noble if the publisher is American based). Thank you for the opportunity and apologies for the inconvenience.

A clever thriller that kept me invested and interested until the very end. A really decent 4 star read.

A Clever, claustrophobia inducing atmospheric thriller from an exciting and extremely readable author.

Full of creeps and chills, a book that will have you looking around your hotel room the next time your In one!

That said I didn’t love the fast forward rewind style and I guessed the twist. But give me this on the beach on holiday with a beer and the sun and I would happily immerse myself.

Good read

This book is an addictive and absorbing read. It’s a stand alone novel from this author, whose novels I always enjoy reading, and I loved the character development in it - thy e people in Rewind fit the novel brilliantly, and the changing perspectives only adds to the entertainment.

The novel opens with a bang and continues from there! The plot is brilliantly crafted with plenty of psychological suspense. I loved the way the novel jumps around from one point in time to another, and the way it’s written is so readable.

I sorted of guessed some of the ending but it doesn’t matter with a book like this, where you’re just enjoying every page! To me, this is pure entertainment - but I’d expect no less from Catherine Ryan Howard!

Rewind is an original and highly gripping story told with multiple points of view and takes the reader back and forth in time revealing the real story bit by bit.

It's great to be in a position to recommend much more diverse books to our young people at school. Building the senior school library as a place where students actually come and find books that they want to read as opposed to books that teachers think they ought to read is an important responsibility and one we take really seriously.
Books like this are such a positive move as they will appeal to a broader set of readers than we are usually attracting. Dealing with modern issues in a clear and captivating way with a strong narrative voice and characters that the students can relate to is critical as we move forwards. This book is both an intelligent and compelling read that will hold even the most reluctant reader's attention and keep them turning the pages long into the night. It keeps the reader on their toes and ensures that you give it your full attention too. I found myself thinking about its characters and events even when I wasn't reading it and looking forward to snatching kore time with it and I hope that my students feel the same. An accessible, gripping and engrossing read that I can't recommend highly enough. Will absolutely be buying a copy for the library and heartily recommending it to both staff and students.

This was a creepy but well told story as it says in the title to get the full story you need to rewind.
Andrew is a strange character, the manager of Shannamore Cottages who likes to view his guests through a hidden camera in their bedroom! When Natalie arrives at Shannamore Cottages she is more than a little unnerved by Andrew and desperately wishes she had never left London but now she's there she needs to find what she is looking for.

This book was just ok for me. I really loved the idea of the changing timelibes but I'm afraid the execution was a bit clumsy and just resulted in confusion for the most part.

I received an ARC of this book thanks to NetGalley and publisher Atlantic Books in exchange for an honest review.
Having previously read a thriller by this author and been really impressed, I was hoping for so much more from this book. Rewind is the story of Audrey, a protagonist so inconsequential she didn't even appear on the blurb or in anyone else's reviews. But while the blurb claims this is the story of Natalie, in reality she doesn't play much of a part in it aside from being murdered. Audrey is the wannabe reporter investigating her disappearance and what I would consider the true protagonist. Natalie is an influencer and our murder victim, a woman who gets attacked while investigating somewhere she thinks her husband might have cheated on her at.

Rewind is ultimately a fairly boring story with a needlessly confusing setup. The blurb got me pretty excited and I normally don't mind stories told out of time, but the way this is set up makes it a little pointless. The PAUSES, REWINDS, FAST FORWARDS do little apart from indicate that the story is taking place in the present or the past. The video aspect of the murder is extremely straightforward and not really part of the actual plot at all. There aren't any twists, nothing surprised me and I didn't really care about any of the characters. It was all so generic.

Ultimately, I can't recommend this thriller. It's a shame because it has a lot of elements I love (I really like thrillers based around social media influencers, and that's a pretty hot topic atm) but everything was so dull and straightforward. If you prefer very linear thrillers, you might like this one but otherwise there isn't much to recommend.

Overall Rating: 2/5 stars

Not for the first time Ms Howard hits the mark with another cracking yarn
I seem to have missed this one when first published but having now read it I have completed the set of all her publications. Usual five stars. Here's to many more

Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

Warning: this book will melt your brain and you will LOVE it. "Rewind" starts with a bang and maintains momentum throughout. I loved Catherine Ryan Howard's writing style, the character development and the ways in which the plot unfolds from different POVs. She keeps an expert hold of all the threads and ties them together brilliantly. There is a lot going on in this book and I found it a thrilling, compulsive read. In fact, I felt extremely frustrated when the daily toil got in the way of my reading time. Thoroughly enjoyed "Rewind" and am annoyed it took me so long to get around to reading. Looking forward to more from this author!

Incredibly creepy and very cleverly paced, this story will churn your stomach and keep you hooked until the very last page. (And also completely avoid holiday homes...)

I like this novel set in Ireland. It’s got a really scary side to it but also good characters. Interesting style of rewinding the story and telling from different points. Really good. 4/5.

TWITTERESQUE REVIEW

Creepy sinister read that will make you feel anxious about staying anywhere ever again! I loved the rewind, fast forward, play format and thought the author nailed the suspense aspect. I had no clue what was going on, and couldn’t put it down till everything was resolved.
