I'm really sorry to say, but this book was not for me.
I hit the 25% mark and the story was dragging... I felt as if it was a chore for me and my readings are not chores, but exciting times for me to dive into different worlds.
I simply couldn't relate to the characters, they were so shallow and selfish people. The plot was repetitive and something that I've seen a lot around.
I hope there are people out there who've enjoyed it, I'm definitely though, not one of them.
OMG I LOVED THIS BOOK! Just one bed, marriage of convenience, reality TV show setting. It has it all. This book has steam and a swoony hero. I absolutely adored this book.
Katy Evans has done it again with Million Dollar Marriage. Hot and swoony with the right amount of angst to keep you gripping your kindle until the wee hours of the morning.
We met Luke Cross in the first book in this series but now we really get to know him an WOW do we get to know him. He is deeply in debt and that is how he ends up waiting to audition for a reality show. Penelope Carpenter has her doctorate and more student debt with no job to help pay it off than she knows what to do with. She could have gone the easy direction and let her parents pay her way and gone to Harvard but that is not what she wanted instead she moved to Atlanta and accumulated one degree after another until she is out of options. That is how she ends up at the audition. Who would have figured she would have been picked to be one of the contestants but she is and now after the first show she is actually married...married...to Luke. Over the next two weeks they work together as they travel the world and fight and fall in love. They say opposite attract but do not last but also soulmates find each other and these two are definitely soulmates. They complement each other. Loved this one!

Million Dollar Marriage tells the story of Penelope and Luke are partnered in a reality show that is a mix of The Amazing Race and Married At First Sight. As a reality show enthusiast, I loved the premise so I was attracted by the blurb right away. The question to be answered is: Will they find love in the middle of the competition?
It has been a while since I read a steamy contemporary romance, and I guess that fact has influenced how much I loved this read. I have always been a sucker for enemies to lovers stories. I enjoyed the adventures and how these events change them from fighting to falling in love.
This book had the mix of a fast-paced plot and a slow burn romance that really ignited when it burned. Though it felt that I will not connect with the characters at first, they have grown on me and I enjoyed watching them get their happy ending.
All in all, a great read. Interested to read more books from the author.
This was a good and quick read. I enjoyed the characters and it wasn't overly cheesy. I will be reading more from the author.
5 star
This story has laughs, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Million Dollar Devil (Million Dollar #1)
This is Nell and Luke’s story. Nell needs money and if she has to say “I do” to get it she will. She is preforming a business transaction or so she thinks. Her groom is about to change all that. The chemistry is off the charts and they have to prove themselves and win out over eight other couples. They both want to win the grand prize but what happens when they start to fall for real? Who is going to be a winner in the end and who is just going to be hurt?
I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I highly recommend this book.
I cannot for the life of me find my review of this and I KNOW I wrote it weeks ago. So here we go. This baby is LIVE right now which means you ABSOLUTELY need to be reading it. Twice as good as the first book in the series even though technically they can each be read as standalone.
Like I said, this can be read as a standalone, but you absolutely should not do that. GO buy the first book too because, HELLO, it is a Katy read.
This one had me DYING of laughs though, I honestly went through the wringer of emotions reading it. I loved the premise and even though I am not a fan of any type of reality TV, I totally was into this one. Can we have a series of books that are reality TV please? Because I DEVOURED this read.
Nell and Luke were fantastic. I loved both of their personalities and I loved how even being complete opposite, they matched to each other so well. Well, that is, when they were arguing and bickering and just not getting along. Actually, I loved those parts even more I think, because we really got to see these characters be themselves and I love that in a read.
Also, the last 20% of this book was the absolutely best. I felt like I spent as mica time grumbling toy myself while reading as I did yelling at the actual book.
Love Katy Evans and all her books as always another great read that I recommend for romance lovers Thankyou for the arc
Million Dollar Marriage is the second book in the Million Dollar series. Even though it is a part of a series it can be read as a standalone very easily. Some characters overlap in this series but the stories are essentially standalone. It is a contemporary romance told from two POVs, Nell and Luke.
This story is centred around Nell and Luke. Nell's love of studying and avoidance of reality has caused her to amass roughly half a million in student loans. Trying to figure out how to start paying this massive amount of debt, she is guided by her best friend to a reality TV show audition here she ends up nailing. Can she find a way to win the show and prize offered? Luke's bar is going under and the only way to save his family's legacy is to get a whole lot of money and fast. The reality TV show's producer knows Luke can bring in the rating thanks to his good looks and charm. Unfortunately, he has been partnered with shy (and often times annoying) Nell. Can they both find a way to beat the other contestants and without falling in love in the meantime?
The story was a bit predictable but still highly enjoyable to read. The characters however are what really made this story for me. This was such a fun and exciting story that left me at times laughing out loud! Evans is skilled at pulling a reader into her story and capturing their attention from beginning to end through fast paced stories, thrilling plots, and a romance that makes them want to know so much more after the story has long since ended.
eARC was kindly provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. Thank you!
As much I love Katy's Books, this series isn't my favorite. I didn't like it as much as I would want. I couldn't connect with characters, however, books hasn't been written in bad style. Of course it's only my opinion. I still will be reading Her books, and still will be big fan of Katy's work.
This book had be laughing out loud at times. It totally had the vibe of The Amazing Race. Nell needed money to pay off her student loans and Luke needed the money to save his grandfather's bar.
The saying goes. Opposites attract and these two definitely were opposites. The chemistry between Luke and Nell was obvious to those around them, yet they both seemed to ignore it. But when you have two smoking hot people, who are attracted to each other, somethings are bound to occur. Fate set these two on the same path, but will their love of each other keep them together, or will they will tore apart.
Nell and Luke couldn’t be more opposite. That’s what the reality show producers were banking on. I thought the premise for MDM was so cool! With a “little” twist on the Amazing Race, this was a unique way to get characters to know each other quickly and under extreme pressure, when their true colors show. I kept wondering how it was going to end and was quite surprised at the “finale”. I love Nell and Luke and need a tiny bit more…a glimpse of their future ❤️
Totally different but perfectly matched!
A totally fun, sexy romance based in the ever entertaining world of reality tv. You will fall for Penny and Luke just as hard as they fell for each other.
She's under a mountain of debt. Education is not cheap, especially when you have made it your career to gain more degrees. He's buried under the financial burden of the bar that he runs. Both need a mini-miracle to save their future.
Penelope decides to try out for a new reality show. How hard can it be? Complete some challenges and win some money. Problem solved, debt gone. She had no idea how her whole life was about to change.
Luke is willing to do whatever it takes to get the money. Failure is not an option. He just never counted on having a partner he was attracted to. His world was about to get turned on it's axis.
Luke and Nell were total and complete opposites. He was social and capable of all the physical challenges. She was quiet, introverted but had the smarts to take on anything that required extra brain power. Totally different but perfectly matched!
They had chemistry that sizzled. Their relationship was a gradual progression from enemies-to-lovers. The characters were fun and their push and pull will draw you in. I definitely enjoyed their adventure.
Million Dollar Marriage is about Luke and Nell, two people who desperately need cash because of their bad financial situations. When you need something bad enough, people do crazy things….such as joining a reality show which is exactly what Nell and Luke do. They are complete opposites: Nell is the quiet, hardworking, no nonsense student while Luke is outgoing, loud, social extrovert. They join the show for money not to like one another or most of all, fall in love. Opposites attract as they say and that is exactly what happens between the two love birds. Apparently reality television isn’t all fake!
Million Dollar Marriage was funny, with added touches of romcom and contemporary romance to wrap it up into one great book! As an avid romance reader I really enjoyed the reality show plot and I always enjoy it when two characters who don’t like each other end up falling for each other. All in all, another great Katy Evans book to add to my growing collection and Million Dollar Marriage is a must read for any contemporary romance lover!
I enjoyed this one more than the previous book in the series! It was a fun and sexy read!Luke and Nell's story was funny and sweet with low angst.
"I don't think the Million Dollar Marriage crew could've picked a couple that is more wrong for each other. But maybe that's just what they wanted."
The characters were the main reason I liked it!They are like fire whenever they are together!

I tried to like this but I just couldn't get into it. I love Katy and her stories but this wasn't for me. I could not finish it.

I love a good game show romance where opposites attract and sizzle. Penelope and Luke combust with how much heat builds between them. Both participate in a game show where they have to marry and work together to win the race towards a million dollars. The game show is unique and the obstacles real enough to show the hardship they have to endure in order to win the game. Each challenge bringings out Penelope's true strengths and Lukes confidence. He makes her realize her true worth and although things don't turn out like you'd expect, Luke never gives up on Penelope and wins her at the end. The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star is because the ending was a bit sloppy and rushed. Other than that an entertaining and sweet romance.
Luke and Nell were the perfect couple. Nell reminds me a little of myself and Luke was so swoon worthy! It was one of those stories that I just loved right from the start to the last page. Loving this series!
