If you are a fan of the Bachelor and the Amazing Race, then this book is for you. Million Dollar Marriage combines both of these hit TV shows into one adventurous journey.

Once the contestants are chosen from hundreds of auditioners, the producers pair them up. They purposely couple the most unlikely to work well together, in order to create a television ratings extravaganza. These insanely matched couples compete against each other via crazy challenges and stunts, to hopefully be the winner of the grand prize, one million dollars. Oops, I forgot to mention that before they are eligible to compete, they must marry each other. This story is a true roller-coaster ride of adventure.

Nell Carpenter needs the winnings to pay off the tremendous amount of student loan debt she has accumulated. She just earned her doctorate, however, her various degrees do not provide many future earning opportunities. Nell is very smart, beautiful, and completely lacks self-confidence. Her college roommate is her best, and only friend. She is naive about most things, including the latest trends. Nell is coupled up with Luke Cross, a bad-boy and hottie, who will undoubtedly attract a ton of female viewers. Luke never finished high school, lived on the streets for two years after his parents kicked him out, had a drug problem, and served a little time in prison. He inherited his grandparents bar, and now he owes a ton of money to the bank because the bar was mortgaged to the hilt. Their forced marriage evolves into so much more.

I enjoyed this book by Katy Evans. It is a quick and fun read. This is the second book from the Million Dollar series and it can be read as a standalone.

Penelope (Nell) is much more comfortable staying at home studying for her PhD then going out and enjoying the single life. The only problem is that she finds herself drowning under her student loan debt and the only solution she can come up with is participating on a reality show where she marries a stranger and then has to live with him.

Luke is outgoing and enjoys the single life so managing the family bar is the perfect job for him. The only drawback is that it is struggling financially, and he needs to turn its fortunes around, the sooner the better. Participating in the reality show won’t only be profitable but it will be fun as well.

When Luke and Nell are matched together you have two opposites with one goal, what could possibly go wrong?

What was supposed to be a business arrangement takes a turn as the chemistry between them ignites. It was fun to watch Nell’s less serious side to emerge while Nell causes Luke to start thinking about more than the next fun experience and they balance each other off to perfection.

This is Survivor on steroids!

Imagine a reality show where you have a chance to win ONE MILLION DOLLARS if you successfully complete all the tasks they give. One catch. You and your partner must work together and complete all tasks together. Oh! A couple of rules: you MUST marry your partner, and your partner will be assigned. You cannot choose who you want to partner with. Easy, right?

Nell and Luke are two opposites that would NEVER be teamed together. She is the typical bookworm and over achiever with multiple college degrees and an insurmountable debt in college loans. Luke is a bartender for his own failing bar in debt to the hilt. The only thing they share is determination to win the $1M and move on.

I do not normally watch Reality shows. This book is entertaining, challenging, and gripping. What appealed to me from the beginning was potential for growth in both characters. As they team up and are forced to work together to achieve their goal, they both help each other grow and look at life differently. You must read this book!

I am voluntarily reviewing this book. Thanks to the author for sharing a copy with me.

Million Dollar Marriage by Katy Evans brings us the story about total opposites Luke and Nell and a reality tv show. With nothing else to lose, they separately decide to audition for a reality show where they could win one million dollars. Nell is drowning in student loan debt and thinks this may solve problems but she is the quiet and reserved girl, how could this work? Luke is facing the closure of his bar and will do anything to save it. They can survive a marriage if it means solving their problems, right? But they could not be any more different if they tried. And yet they find a way to connect and work together and before you know it, sparks are flying. This was such a fun and delightful read!

Happy reading!

I am clutching my heart swooning over Luke Cross & Penelope "Nell" Carpenter!

Seriously the cover, the blurb and I was totally suckered into finding out if this "marriage" could work.

Be ready for one hell of an adventure with these two characters.

I was rooting for Nell & Luke as they venture into getting to the end to get that Million Dollar Prize they both desperately need.

Fun Adventures, pent up chemistry that is off the charts hot, as well as both of these characters exploring themselves as well as each other.

I enjoyed how [author:Katy Evans|6997072] gives us characters we can relate to when it comes to self doubt in the actions we take into making what we think we should be doing.

A lot of self discovering with Luke & Nell in themselves as well as with each other.

Signature Swoon & Sexy factor make the Cherry on Top of this Must Read book!

I freakin' LOVED this story! It had chemistry, friction, adventure, and passion!

"Every part of him is so strong and masculine and begs to be adored; he's raw, dirty sex on a cracker."

Penelope AKA Nell Carpenter is a serial student! So much so that she's racked up quite a debt. Cerebral and serious but desperate, she auditions for a reality TV show, and is shocked as hell to be selected. What on earth has she gotten herself into? She's way outside her comfort zone. Especially when she gets paired up with the hot, dirty yeti?

"She looks up at me with those big blue eyes, and it gets me. Right there. In the heart, in my cock."

Luke Cross is on the verge of bankruptcy. His bar is failing and he didn't know that he'd also inherited a heap of mortgages with it. In desperation, he auditions for a reality TV show where he could win a million dollars. The minute he sets eyes on the nerdy girl with the big glasses and cute freckles, and giant textbook, he's wants her. However, it appears that she can't stand him. Even better when they are paired up together for the challenge of their lives.

"I kiss her. Tongue and teeth, hands and hair. Crush her lips with mine and devour her mouth like she's my last meal."

This was a hugely addictive read! I thought it was fun and thrilling. Luke and Nell were complete opposites in every way. Luke was an absolute sweetheart - he was honest, likeable and had a lot of integrity. He had excellent social skills and I adored his undeniable attraction to Nell. She, in contrast, was socially awkward, lacked a lot of self-confidence, but I loved how being with Luke helped her blossom. I loved her determination and her smarts.

This was a fabulous hot, hot read with a lot of character!

You would do anything for cash, right? How about marrying a stranger? Reality TV isn’t were Luke and Nell thought they would end up but with money on the line, anything is possible.

This was a cute story playing on our thirst of reality TV. At times the story was a little over the top and I was fine with that because as with reality TV, it needs to be a little crazy. Katy writes well and although this wasn’t a favorite, it was a cute “pallet cleanser” read.

I can actually say at this point that you can always read a good book with Katy Evans, this book is fantastic, Nell and Luke story was amazing. Nell is a smart girl but let's just say she has some issues. Luke appears in her life and their relationship begins within a TV reality show, opposites attract romance is one of my favorites and to see their journey it just made this book a great read. Absolutely a must read.

Penelope "Nell" Carpenter is a 25 yr. old literature major living in Atlanta, Georgia who is deeply in debt with student loans. Out of options she decides to audition for a new hit reality show where the top prize is a million dollars. This could be just what will fix all her problems. The only issue is she's a nerdy introvert who is uptight, high strung, and socially awkward. This show is totally not her scene, and she would be completely out of her comfort zone, but she's desperate. That's how she finds herself saying "I do" to a stranger on national television.

Luke Cross is a gorgeous 28 yr. old guy who grew up in downtown Atlanta, and owns a bar that's in jeopardy of closing if he doesn't find a solution soon. Broke and up for anything, he jumps at the chance to save his bar. The show is a once in a lifetime opportunity, and he's excited to play the game.

When bad boy Luke and good girl Nell meet they are complete opposites. They are about as night and day as two people can get, but they must work together and think of the situation as a business arrangement, and nothing more. They are on a crazy adventure played out on tv for the entire world to see. Soon they are in it to win it, and don't want their time to end. As brains and brawn collide the passion between them is inevitable. As he teaches her to live in the moment, what is to be for show starts to feel so very real.

Million Dollar Marriage (Million Dollar #2) by Katy Evans was fabulous!!! We first meet Luke as Jimmy Rowan's best friend in Million Dollar Devil. He's the hot, tattooed, sexy beast, and Nell is the prim, proper, innocent rule follower. Opposites attract in this fun, lighthearted, story about falling in love. This was like the Bachelor and the Amazing Race mixed into one show. It was extremely entertaining, and full of adventure, emotion, and amazing chemistry!

Quirky, lighthearted and steamy story of opposites attracting.
What would you do to cover your debt?
Penelope aka Nell and Luke explore that concept and take on the challenge head on!! What they discover is more than they ever bargained!!
Both characters are truly opposites, head scratching huh?
But...their chemistry is undeniable and they fit in the strangest way. She’s socially awkward, nerdy and stuck up. He’s all alpha all brawn and something sometin else!!
Luke’s POV adds a little goodness to the story giving them both a lot of heart.
As they get into their agreed upon challenge they learn a lot more than the rules of the game.
Great fun read!

Another fantastic read by Katy Evan, Luke and Penny are the most unlikely couple on the planet. The circumstances of how they get together makes for one amazing read that has his ups and downs fabulous twists. The power of their attraction is what drives the story of the unlikely couple. Both of them trying to get out of their own problems but trying not to fall in love with one another. The passion and emotions in this book will bring you to tears and lift you up at the same time. A happy yet unexpected twist happy ending awaits you in this romance. This is yet another hit for Katy Evans!

My first impression? Wow.

Sorry if this review is too long, just know that I loved the book :-D The hero is delicious!

Yes, wow, pretty much that’s what I felt all along, really.

From the catchy title to the mouthwatering cover and the rollercoaster plot, I just couldn’t take a breath that wasn’t full of sighs or laughs or thrilled yells.

I gravitate towards this author’s books because they’re passionate and addictive, and this one is pure adrenaline and chemistry. The first chapters introduce the main characters and their financial plight that moves them to even remotely consider going ahead into an audition to take part in a TV show à la Survivors.

I loved every step of the build-up as they audition for it, then pass the first round which I found imaginative and exciting, and finally embark on the most physically challenging, mind-testing, exhilarating set of missions to be pulled off.

While street-wise, hot-as-sin Luke and bookish, cute Penny run and sweat for their prize like in the Herculean twelve jobs, this impossible couple starts feeling and desiring, and the heat between them is epic!

It feels like a marathon through hell, where they pant, fear, bleed and put their wills to the test, but all the time they’re part of this bizarre TV contest and their hearts fall in love despite the onslaught. I loved it, though I was dreading the conflict that would inevitably send their relationship to a screeching halt. I didn’t think it was as bad as in the previous novel, where it didn’t make sense. Here it is almost expected and helps with the drama and with making their actions take a less forced path.

In the end, it works really great and they get rid of all the insecurities and social pressure. It’s a thrilling ride till the end. And Luke is really loveable.

If you read Million Dollar Devil then you remember meeting Luke, the owner of Tim's Bar. Luke is struggling with the finances of his bar which he's about to lose and Penelope "Nell/Penny" is drowning in student loans bur what happens when a reality show has a prize you can't refuse? Luke and Penny had me laughing, smiling and cheering them on throughout this read, I couldn't get enough of them! If you love The Bachelor and The Amazing Race, you'll get a kick out of this storyline so grab your copy now!

This was such a fun read!

Luke and Nell couldn't be more opposite on paper if they tried. Paired up for a reality show they seem doomed from the start. That is until they choose to ignore their differences & actually work out who they are together.

I loved that this was a spin on the reality television everyone loves and what we all know goes on behind the scenes. I finished it in one session with a big smile on my face.

Definitely recommend.

Penelope Carpenter is the last person that should be on a reality television show. She has never even watched a reality television show. But when her student loan debt becomes too much to handle she agrees to go with her best friend to the tryout. She is sure she will never be picked anyways. She can not believe it when she is casted in the show. She is shocked when she finds out that the annoying guy in line behind her gets casted as well. In her eyes Luke is a dirty thug.

Luke is not the marrying kind but he is willing to do whatever he has to do to keep the bar open that his grandfather left him. In a shocking elimination Luke and Penelope become partners for the show. Penelope is appalled by him but Luke can not keep his eyes off her. There is something about her shy, smart exterior that excites him.

They will now have to learn to work together if they want to win the money. It is not going to be easy. They are so different. However maybe their differences is what will bring them to the finish line first.
Another great book in the Million Dollar Romance Series.

Luke and Nell seem all wrong....to each other, but we know better, well, Katy knows best. I've loved her books for the way she makes you fall in love with characters and couples where you want to date them AND be their friends. She makes them funny, even if they don't mean to be, sexy, even when they don't think they are and perfect for the other person, when everyone keeps telling them no. This book did not disappoint and I binged it so quickly I'm going through withdrawals.
Keep em "coming" Katy!!!

Though this book is part of the authors Million Dollar series neither of the characters play a major part of the other's story.  Million Dollar Marriage focuses on Luke and Nell.

Luke is the owner of the bar you'll read about in Million Dollar Devil.  He's been through the ringer in life and is looking at Million Dollar Marriage as a way to pay off the debts he's encompassed in the last few years.

Nell, sort for Penelope, is a PHD and a perpetual student.  She refused to follow her parent's path laid out for her so she's been amassing quite a huge debt with college loans.  Million Dollar Marriage could be her way above water.

This story throws these two in the deep in right away.  There's no thinking about it - if they want to win they have to sign on the line and compete together.  There's tons of obstacles in their way and I don't even mean the stunts the TV program throws at them. Luke and Nell just need to figure out if they're worth it.  You know they say when life throws you lemons you make lemonade.  These two didn't get a chance to make lemonade but they did what they could with what they had.  Definitely helped them in the end...that's for sure!

I am a Katy Evans fan and the idea of a reality TV marriage was a cute idea and had a lot of potential. It followed a predictable course and it was full of humor and some conflicts. It was a read which was easy. The chemistry between the two main characters wasn't as strong as I would have liked but overall, I was ok with the read.

Nell and Luke both need a hug infusion of cash to pay off some big debts. Both try out for a new reality show not knowing much about it. Nell is pretty sure she won't get picked she's kind of a nerd and a brainiac stick in the mud. Luke on the other hand is kind of the life of the party. Makes friends easily and i open to anything. Complete opposites. They both end up getting in and paired together and then married for the two weeks of the contest. I loved watching these two. Both had some problems in their pasts and very different in nature. It's kind of a rocky start to say the least but these two slowly come together. Luke could easily have been a jerk as Nell was really hard to get along with at first but he gets her to open up and he's patient. He sees things in her she doesn't see in herself. You literally watch her confidence grow. Luke seems like he let's nothing slow him down but Nell is this immensely smart woman and he didn't finish high school. Yet she makes him feel brilliant. Like all good stories there someone working against them. Other competitors and the shows producers needing that high ratings and when their finally ready to let the world know they've fallen in love in all comes crashing down. I admit i laughed alot reading this. It's easy to get lost in these two. I do not watch much reality TV especially shows like this one so I didn't think I'd enjoy this the way i did. A definite fun read.

The premise of the book really had me intrigued. I started out liking it just fine but then 70% through it just fell flat to me. For some reason the heroines in this series irk me so bad. They start off snobby and act like they are better than everyone else and then boom they have some kind of epiphany. It's just unbelievable that just some hot guy can make them change. Ugh it's frustrating and I think that takes away from the book for me. I guess that's what I keep going back to later on in the story. After the heroines start falling for the hero all that snobbiness is forgotten. It was good but I just didn't like the heroine.
