Who wouldn't love this book!? The characters make you feel you are part of their lives, you experience their highs and lows just as you would in your own lives with the hope that the ending would turn out well for them, after all a fairy tale always does doesn't it? This is a fabulous book, humorous, poignant and a true reflection of modern life. A great read - highly recommended.

One more chance..do you take the risk?
This is a powerful love story that I have nothing but love for.
Beautiful captured the true essence of love and taking the chance at saying I love you.
This is most defiantly a book to read for anyone who loves a good romance and cannot be missed.

This book could be summed up in one sentence. It's a quote from the story: "You must be yourself, because everyone else has already been taken."
The least you can say about that is that it is a truism. You can dream all you like of course and you can keep on looking back and thinking what if, but the only thing you are sure about is the life you are actually living at the moment.
You can feel guilty about some things, but you also have to realise that adults are responisble for their own actions. Not a feeling you can easily get over.
Beware: a dream can always turn into a nightmare ...
All the time I was thinking, 'please Charlotte', begging her to do what I would have liked her to do and then the author made my heart stop for a few pages ...
Kudos to the author for giving me that feeling. I just love it when it happens in a book.
It's a story that gave me the 'could have, would have, should have' impression, where you are thorn and find yourself between a rock and a hard place and where you long for something else than what you have got, without the certainty that it would have been better. For all you know it might have been worse.
In my opinion a wonderful book. 5 stars.
Thank you, Emma Heatherington and Harper Fiction

A heartwarming, serendipitous story, about Charlotte's life and loves. At twenty-two, she meets the one, but there's someone else in Tom's life, and the love remains unrequited. The story continues with chance meetings, but life events force them apart.
Music is a recurrent theme in this story, reflecting life events and changes in emotions.
The romance is chequered, but Charlotte faces family tragedies and difficult decisions that shape her as a person. The impact of mental health issues on families is explored with sensitivity. The idea that our lives could be different if we'd made another choice is also a theme of this emotional story. As Charlotte matures and changes, as life events occur.
There is a strong sense of place in this story that grounds it, adds interest and give it authenticity.
The characters are realistic and draw you into their world.
The ending is plausible and positive.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Collins UK - Harper Fiction via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This is a very atmospheric book of missed opportunities, second chances and indecision. It’s also about making things happening – rewriting those stars. We have two very charismatic characters in Tom and Charlotte. They’re not perfect, they make mistakes, but they’re genuine. We follow them through their ups and downs.
The writing is clever and it’s a unique story. Entertaining.

From the first moment their eyes meet, we know there is something special happening between Charlotte and Tom.
A lovely, if somewhat frustrating, journey for the two who are so destined to be together. I enjoyed this immensely and couldn't wait to find out what would eventually happen.
Thank you to Netgalley and Emma Heatherington for the chance to read this ARC copy of a great book.

This is a beautiful, romantic love story that will certainly pull at your heartstrings.
Set in Dublin, over several years, the book features main character Charlotte, a primary school teacher, free spirit and songwriter. Her world changes when she meets Tom, a friend of her brother’s and member of his band. She immediately falls for his smouldering good looks, easy charm and interest in her musical talents. They don’t meet each other again until five years later when Tom ‘accidentally’ bumps into Charlotte at a local pub. The spark is still there and Charlotte is overjoyed to find that Tom feels the same.
However, the path to true love is never easy and their relationship comes under strain.
Charlotte is torn between the love of her life and a family she adores. When her life takes an unexpected path, the doubts never leave Charlotte. Loose ends crowd her thoughts and she struggles silently, unable to share her uncertainty with anyone.
This is the perfect escape read, with characters who just melt your heart. It is a thought-provoking, charming and beautifully written romance. I loved the Irish setting but it was the main character Charlotte who really shone in Rewrite The Stars.

This is a book that makes you wonder. Where would your life take you if you had taken different paths. Was the love that wasn't meant to be, really the one true love of your life and have you missed that chance forever. Or is life all about second chances, listening to your heart and taking a risk occasionally!
Were Charlotte and Tom meant to be together despite the obstacles? We feel the innermost struggles and the love in the air.
An enjoyable read.

I've gone with 3 stars on this one for a couple of reasons.
I'll start by saying it's a good story and I liked the pace of the writing, the story really flows. It is set in Ireland over the course of a few years and we follow the main character through her family and relationship troubles. The problem I have is I didnt really warm to the main character all that much and when that happens, it kind of taints the story.
I really enjoyed the way that the author cleverly ended it though, I won't give anything away but I had one of those "noooooo" moments 2 pages from the end!
I wouldn't call it a love story, I would say it is a story about growing up, letting go and taking ownership of your own happiness. All very important lessons!
Overall, a good read, there was just something I didnt warm to.
Thank you to @netgalley and @harpercollinsuk for the opportunity to review.

Rewrite the Stars is a beautiful story of love, loss and fate-vs-self determination. It has a holiday setting through the years but is perfect reading for anytime.
Charlotte, Charlie, loves music and loves to write music. She falls in love with the drummer of her brother's band but her brother is determined to keep them apart. Over the years they are thrown back together again but never quite make the connection with one another. Tragedies occur in both of their lives altering their dreams and hopes. When they finally meet again we are asked if it is too late or can we "rewrite destiny" and create our own fate.
The story is simply written, flows beautifully from start to finish and is perfect for readers of multiple genres.

This is the kind of book that leaves you with tingles down your spine and a warm cosy feeling in your tummy.
I loved the main characters, fist pumping the air a couple of times in elation.
A wonderful love story that you can just melt into on a chilly afternoon. Perfect.

I have loved reading Emma Heatherington's previous books so jumped at the chance to read this one and what a beautiful story.
Charlotte was a character who embraced life who lived and made mistakes and I loved her vivasciousness for life and all it had to offer.
Whilst reading this book your taken on an emotional rollercoaster that leave you remembering you never know what's round the corner and to grab life with both hands whilst you can. A story that will make you laugh, love and left me with tears as I reached the end. This book is a delightful blend of wonderful characters set in the heart of Ireland and I loved it from start to finish.

A sweet and easy read. At times some of the longing became rather cringe-inducing. However I liked where the novel ended up, and it felt like a refreshing change from a lot of similar reads..

Charlie fell in love with Tom many years ago when he was in a band with her brother. When they meet years later, with her now a primary school teacher with questions about how her life would be if she had been able to be with him, they start out again.
When she goes home to have the discussion with her brother about this new relationship that she knows will not get his blessing she could not imagine the horror that will lie ahead....and yet the new relationship that it will also lead her to.
However throughout this relationship lie the questions and deep discontent as she wonders what might have been.
Will her current path lead her on the road to find Tom again and is it what she dreamed of?
A good read with lots of turns

An emotional rollercoaster story in the style of a tender‘will they? won’t they?’ romance set in Dublin and perfect for a festive seasonal read. It doesn’t quite have the power to tug at my heartstrings in the way that ‘One Day’ did but its light, engaging Christmassy and enjoyable. I read it in one binge-sitting on a rainy afternoon. Thank you for the advance review copy and Emma Heatherington is definitely an author I’ll look out for in the future.

A lovely story of lost love, guilt, family and how one action can lead to multiple others.
Beautifully written with enough action to keep you reading yet still being believable. A few twists and turns with an ending that I was not expecting but that I was pleased about!

This is a really beautiful romance read. Perfect characters and lovely little story. Really enjoyed this.

This was not the book I was expecting from the blurb, there was an awful lot more meat on the bones of what could at first glance be dismissed as “another Christmas Women’s Fiction”. The emotional connection to our heroine was immediate but it was the plotlines of secondary characters that really fills the story with heart and a very realistic study of family in all it’s guises that really kept me turning the pages at a brisk pace. Yes this is about missed chances and taking every path to happiness you can grasp at but it also speaks to the value of gratitude for what might have been overlooked or taken for granted. Particularly important as we approach the season of giving
Do not despair the ending is satisfying with just the right level of sweetness with a back note of citrus tang so as to please the most ardent Romantic Christmas lover and still maintain the more serious tone that I loved so much.

Last year Emma Heatherington's Miracle on Hope Street got my Christmas read of 2018. Rewrite the Stars gets my Christmas read of 2019. An extremely moving and well written story that I read in one sitting.

A light, straightforward romance perfect for someone looking for a quick love story to brighten their day. A little bit too light for me, but that's just my taste.
