Oh my goodness I just love these book and I can't wait to hear what Cinders and Sparks get up to next. If you loved the last Cinders and Sparks book then you are going to love this one even more. There are more funny moments, more silliness, more girl power and more fairy tales twisted and adapted for your reading pleasure.

I just love how we can have a children's book that is silly and funny and yet have some strong characters who are good role models in the process. These books take what we know about fairy tales and turn them on their head. The stuff that remains is great fiction and something with a bit of a lesson along the way.

I also really love the magic in this book. Again, I think that this has been ramped up for book 2 but it is a kind of realistic magic, something which characters often question and often pause before 'activating'.

I definitely laughed during this book, it was a quick read and I enjoyed every moment of it. I'm headed to pre-order the next book in the series right now!

Lindsey Kelk is back with another fabulous and funtastic adventure featuring the much loved comic duo, Cinders and Sparks.

Kelk's writing is, once again, effortlessly hilarious, with the perfect amount of silly twists and turns that'll keep her little readers entertained and engaged. Along with Pippa Curnick's charming illustrations throughout, Fairies in the Forest, will have readers wishing for the third instalment.

It is so great to be back with Cinders and Sparks again. I had been looking forward to this, the next book in the series for some time now.
Cinders has found out that her mother was a fairy, making her part fairy and since discovering she has magical abilities, life has become new and interesting.
On a quest , or rather exile, from King Picklebottom’s kingdom, she is looking for Fairyland. With her are Sparks, her talking dog and Mouse, her horse. Her friend Hansel has come along as well. Cinders is much braver than Hansel and rides headlong into the Dark Forest.
They meet new creatures, the three bears and Rapunzel on this adventure. I love the links between fairytales in this series.
Her fairy godmother, Brian, is as helpful as always and now there is a huntsman on their trail.

Ending on a cliffhanger, I am ready for the next in the series!
Super illustrations from talented Pippa Curnick keep younger readers entertained and engaged. A brilliant plot full of twists and turns makes it an exciting read.

I feel I want to go back and read them all again! There is so much in each one and they make excellent bed times stories!

This is book two in the series and it is such a fun read. I've been reading this with my son and he says its one of his favourites this year, which is quite high praise!

This starts up right where the first book ends and we get straight back into Cinders adventure again, It is so full of funny and silly moments and I must say that I love how headstrong Cinders is!

My only problem here is how quickly it ended and how long we must wait for another installment!

Absolutely amazing! I have loved this series aimed at you her readers and this was a brilliant second instalment to the Cinders and Sparks story

More madcap fairytale fun! The story picks up immediately where book 1, Magic at Midnight, left off, and follows Cinders' continuing adventures as she attempts to find Fairyland and her mum. Fans of the first book will be thrilled to see the characters again - there's a lot of humour and silliness, and plenty of sausages. As with the first book, Fairies in the Forest ends extremely abruptly, mid-quest - there's a real pacing problem when you are startled by seeing the words 'The End'. This is probably a series to read all in one go, so keep an eye out for book 3!

I picked this book because I have read and enjoyed many of Lindsey Kelk’s books aimed at adults. I didn’t regret it!

This is a great story, a fun adventure for Cinders and her friends (of human and animal types). However, this is the second book in a series, and as such, doesn’t really have a satisfying ending. I didn’t feel like I’d missed too much by not having read the first book, but really felt the lack of ending.

A great fun adventure for kids, but definitely read the series, rather than just one book. Oh, and the illustrations are great too.

I was given a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
