This is the third book in the series of The Outback Brides of Wirralong.
This is the story of Jenna and Sam. The characters will have you banging your head and thinking what are you doing? But of course, you are going to enjoy this story.
Barbara has continued the to draw us into the town of Wirralong and you will feel like you have steps off the pages and right into the town.
I enjoy that these books are quick reads and you can continue to read them all in a row.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one and I am diving into the final book in this series.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book in the Outback Brides series, I loved the chemistry between Jenna and sexy Sam and enjoyed the way neither was completely able to fight their feelings despite wanting to. The storyline brought to light the issues farmers have with drought and with mining companies after their land to explore and mine. The way the government often overrides the farmers' rights giving the large corporations more rights than the owners is completely wrong and is something the government needs to change. Money over the rights of the little people is not the way this country should run. You can completely understand how our farmers too often choose to give up when they have no support or feel they have no options in which to hold on to. I thought the parallels between Jenna's father's plight and Sam and the community's plight were important and show that we need to put laws and support networks in place for these often forgotten people.

Thanks to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for a digital copy of this novel in return for an honest review.

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I have read all the previous books in the sister series and am now enjoying reading these 4 books as well. In this book, we meet Jenna, a very sweet girl who is a corporate attorney in Melbourne. She is the bridal attendant for her best friend Cate. Cate is a former accountant who worked with Jenna. She is from Wirralong originally and is returning after falling in love with her old classmate., a rancher there. Jenna coms for the wedding and meets the grooms best friend Sam. They have an instant attraction and have a wedding fling. When Jenna is trying to leave to return to Melbourne Sam is served with legal papers concerning the water rights on his ranch. A large company has made a secret deal with the government that prevents all of the local ranches from having access to the only lake and water around. Now there is a drought that is killing their land and livestock. Sam removed the fence between his land and the lake and other ranchers began to do the same. This allowed them the only way to get water to save their livelihoods. Jenna offers to take their case and fight the mining company and the government. She and Sam have several meetings, calls and emails. Both realize they are in love with the other but due to where they live and their occupation, they don’t pursue it. We also learn about Jenna’s childhood trauma and she bonds with Sam over the pain she has also felt caused by a drought and her father’s suicide . Th book is well written and has a lovely HEA. I highly recommend the book and both sets of Outback Brides books. Ms Hannay did a fabulous job on this book.

This is a very entertaining story of when opposites attract to find a commonplace. Jenna will do her best to fight the attraction to one very sexy grazer Sam Twist has she is a city girl at heart and her career is her life. This is the third book of this great series set in the Australian outback that will capture your heart and love of this great outback town.

I have not had the pleasure of reading anything by Barbara Hannay before this book and I must say I found her work enjoyable and easy to read. Her characters were very relatable and interesting; this is a great addition to this series.

What happens when a very driven female corporate lawyer meets with a sexy sheep farmer at a wedding in the country town of Wirralong?

It’s the long-standing old story of the Best Man and the Bridesmaid meeting at a wedding
.
A one night stand!

“For sure, only a pirate could rob a girl of breath at first sighting. Crazily, and without warning, Jenna had the whole weak-kneed, lightning-bolt attraction thing happening.”

But before Jenna leaves the town she finds herself in the middle of a lawsuit with a mining company.
Can she help these farmers and save their livelihoods and family history unlike her father past?
Helping this town and farmer does not give her the distance she needs to forget the man she can not have a future or even a past with. That was never in the plans.

Thank you to NetGalley and Tule Publishing for gifting me this ARC copy in which this is my honest and voluntary review.

Jenna's best friend Cate is getting married and she is the maid of honor. The best man is the grooms best friend Sam. Jenna is a total city girl and Sam is a sheep rancher. They meet for the first time at the wedding and their is a spark. What harm could a one night fling do? When one night turns into several Jenna finds herself reflecting on her childhood. When her legal skills are needed to help the local ranchers everything changes. Can she be honest with Sam and herself about her feelings? Can you make a city girl a country girl? Great read.

The Outback Brides of Wirralong is a series of romance books by a selection of Australian authors. Together they bring to life a fictional Victorian town through selected stories filled with drama and romance. Each book can be read as a standalone and, on this occasion, I could not pass up the opportunity to read Barbara’s contribution as she is a firm favourite of mine.

Barbara Hannay is a talented writer, I mean who could write so much in so few words, providing such an engaging getaway. A classic scenario of workaholic city girl meets sexy outback farmer. Cliched? Of course - but that’s the point - it guarantees light and entertaining escapism. For a breath of fresh air, take a journey with Barbara as she transports you to the country where Jenna and Sam try to distance themselves from their certain attraction. Add in a few sweet lambs, a big international corporation fighting over land rights and this little novella packs a real punch.

Superbly written, I highly recommend this light and romantic novella that has more to it than first meets the eye. A great weekend read.

‘How did people get over the biggest mistakes of their lives?’

Jenna is a hard working lawyer who attends the wedding of her best friend in Wirralong, a town known for being a wedding destination in Australia, where she hooks up with Sam, the groom’s brother, after the wedding. She thought it would be just one night and then she would be on her way back to the city, but it turns out Jenna’s advice was needed to help the ranchers fight a mining company who has cut off access to their livestock. No one knows about Jenna’s time spent in the outback, but when Sam figures she is hiding something and she finally tells him, it only brings them closer.

Sam is a committed bachelor. He has no plans of ever settling down and getting married. He is happy spending time with women. Once he is through with them, he moves on. But, there is something about Jenna that has piqued his interest. There is more to her story than she lets people know. She plays tough and loves her city life, but deep inside there is a country girl waiting to come back out.

I enjoyed this book. Jenna and Sam seemed to fight their true feelings for a while, but when they finally gave in, it was worth the wait. I enjoyed the author’s descriptive writing. I felt like I had been right there with the characters in Australia. This book is part of a series, but all of the books can be read on their own.

In town for a friends wedding hot shot workaholic lawyer Jenna meets farmer/sheep rancher Sam. Can two such opposite personalities and lifestyle work? Jenna by Barbara Hannay is a light enjoyable clean read for romance fans. I like a bit more steam in my books but that's just me.

Jenna is the name of the third female lead in The Outback Brides of Wirralong Series. This series has different authors with Jenna being written by Barbara Hannay. As it opens it is not Jenna’s wedding at all that is coming up soon. Instead it is one in which she is to be a bridesmaid.

Jenna is a total workaholic that barely had time to be a bridesmaid let alone a bride. It made me tired just reading all the hours she put in for work, especially on the weekends. This is one person who definitely needed to relax so that she could re-energized herself or burnout was bound to happen. She is also a city girl who doesn’t “do” country. However she does consider a very short fling while at the country wedding.

Sam Twist may seem like the complete opposite to Jenna. I saw him as having a more balanced perspective to work. He also has struggles that is common to farmers/ ranchers who are always dependent on nature, meaning the weather conditions. I was pulling for him to win Jenna over. I was also eager to see her find purpose that still allow a more reasonable enjoyable life. Life often gives opportunities that we miss if we are not open to change. It was a pleasure to watch Jenna and Sam become open to what life had in store for them.

An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The third book in this series and this time we meet Jenna

Jenna may have grown up in the outback but now she is a city girl through and through and she has no intention of changing that in fact it is a major stretch for her to stand at he best friend Cate's wedding seeing as it is in the middle of a paddock in the bush. When her eyes meet the best man Sam on the day of the wedding she sees danger not only in him but in what he makes her feel Can he get this city girl to return to her roots or is their love doomed Another great fun read set in the town of Wirralong a real pleasure to read you could almost smell the eucalyptus.

Jenna, book three in the Outback Brides Of Wirralong series, is my first Barbara Hannay Story but it definitely won’t be my last. I loved this book. Set in drought-stricken north east Victoria the story pairs Melbourne corporate lawyer Jenna Matthews with Wirralong pastoralist Sam Twist. For these two, what was meant to be a brief, no-strings fling after their best friends’ wedding turned into a longing for much, much more. The trouble is neither of them was prepared to reveal the extent of their feelings. I honestly wanted to bang their heads together and make them wake up to themselves at times!
This story is short but so elegantly written you feel as if you’ve lived through months by the time you reach the end. The sub-plot, which involves a corporate action over riparian rights, helps the story to move along while providing another point of interest in the story. While I’ve loved all the Outback Brides stories this one stands out as my favourite so far. Can’t wait for book four in this series.

I love this series. I don't know this author, but well done on packing so much into a quick read. I was hooked from the beginning. Former country girl is a big city lawyer, can you really take the country lifestyle out of the girl. This bridesmaid due to circumstances is spending more time in the country side than she expected. Not only did she become involved with someone but a legal issue had her attention too.
A wonderful outback romance, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

When I saw another Outback Brides of Wirralong, I did a little happy-dance. Yay! This time, I didn't know the author Barbara Hannay, but since it would be about a wedding in Wirralong: how bad could it be? Well.... it is bad for Jenna. After fleeing in the outback years ago, she is now happily living in the city with her best friend Cate. Until Cate found her future husband and they decided to move back to Wirralong and have her wedding there. As a lawyer, Jenna is happy to be busting cases (and other things). With no-strings-attached guys and a suit with stiletto's. So, when she realizes she has to go back into the wildlife to be the bridesmaid to Cate, she figures she will be gone within 24 hours. She didn't expect to feel the sparks flying between her and the groomsman Sam. And when she ends up in Sam's bed after the wedding, she definitely didn't expect to be helping saving a little lamb. But the lamb reminded her of her youth... of the Before...
When the next morning Sam is receiving a court order, Jenna is torn: should she help Sam with his legal issues? Or should she just leave, before her After... memories will resurface?
Find out for yourself in this wonderful read. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This, book #3 in the series, was my favourite by far. The legal information - the backbone of the story - was presented in such a way as to be informative without being boring or coming across as an dump of knowledge the author had gathered via research.

There were spots of humour interspersed with poignant moments, and I could easily sympathise with Jenna's childhood trauma. I wasn't thrilled with the cut to black moments; all that steamy build up and no payout?! (I'll get over my disappointment.) And I'm never thrilled when the man is a legendary rake, but the woman has next to no social life, but in this case it works out. Once Sam meets Jenna no other woman can hold his attention, and his previous conquests are nothing but wisps of faint memories.

Also, even though this book is part of a series, you don't need to have read any of the previous books in order to enjoy it. The book stands on its own quite well, with a slight nod or two to previous books in this series.

This was my first book by this author, and her talent and skills are top notch. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future.

The story of Jenna and Sam.
She is in town for her best friends wedding, then plans to escape back to the city as soon as she can. But then she meets Sam - can he convince her that life in the country isn't all that bad?
