This is such a beautifully written book. About grief, yes, but Jayson captures family life incredibly well too. A real talent.
An incredibly moving memoir about the accidental death of a young child and the grieving process for a parent.
Not an easy read- the grief and pain are are raw and gut-punching. It feels intimate and at times I felt intrusive reading about the horror but it is compelling and well written.
The death of a child often unites or destroys the marriage and this book explores the effect on the parents as individuals and as a couple.
A real insight and a real privilege to be taken on this most painful journey. Ultimately leaves you valuing your life and the life of those closest to you.
The last quarter doesn't feel quite so well written somehow but it is overall a good read that takes one of the worst life experiences imaginable and helps us understand the drive to not give up, or give in.
