If you can't tell I adore a romance book this one was cute. We follow Molly Quinn who is divorce lawyer and dare we say a little jaded on love? She bis on a getaway for an adventure vacation in Canada and is paired up with Eric Chambault. Like most romance books he is a tycoon and disgustingly gorgeous. Sparks fly when they are on their travels, they are pushed to the ends of their limits on this vacation but that isn't a bad thing as they get closer together along the vacation.
This was a cute romance book, and I enjoyed the adventure they went on. It was a cute romance book that I like reading as a palate cleanser in-between fantasy reads. I will definitely pick up more books by this author.
This is the story of Molly and Eric, which is told over 14 Chapters (+Epilogue). The story is intriguing from the start and it is plain to tell that these two characters do not like each other to begin with. However as this is a Mills and Boons books this situation does change as the book goes on. The readers get to watch them warm up to each other. The book is addictive and the descriptions are first rate. These descriptions will leave the reader wanting to go on this Summer Escape themselves.
Molly Quinn’s trip to the Canadian outback is the adventure of a lifetime. She won the trip in a blind auction where she battled it out with Eric Chambault. She is just about to start her adventure when in he walks - he had bought himself a ticket! She is paired up with Eric, as they are the only two singletons on the trip, who is a rich tycoon. As they are pushed to the limit they become closer, but will their holiday fling survive in the real world?
I enjoyed the descriptions of the scenery and activities / it made me feel as though I was there enjoying the holiday with them. I found Molly’s internal monologue rather negative and depressing at times. The novel examined and developed their characters rather than their sexual chemistry.
I received this novel from Mills & Boon via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review
Eric and Molly had met at a blind auction where they both battled to win an adventure holiday. She won and is relaxing in the bath at the start of her holiday when in he walks. He had bought himself the holiday and then been given the wrong room key! Over the next days their romance grows as they, as the only singles, tend to be paired together. It’s an ok story to pass a long evening!
When Eric meets Molly he assumes she is just another divorce laywer..something he hates. But the more he gets to know her the more she surprises him. The book is set as a adventure holiday of a lifetime and with Molly and Eric being the only singles among the group they are paired up. With each adventure they discover a little bit more about each other. The scenery and locations are described wonderfully and made me feel like I was right there too. This is a love story with a difference as Molly and Eric need to discover themselves before they can fully discover each other! A great read
Molly is a divorce lawyer who is really good at her job but she has lost her motivation, She only sees the ending of a marriage and not the beginning, so while feeling jaded she went to an auction and put a bid on a holiday and won. She was bidding against Eric who instead went to the same holiday by paying for it. The met again when Eric was given her room key by accident and he walked in on her in the bath.
This is a story about trust and two lost souls finding each other.
Molly is a divorce lawyer who is starting to get frustrated with her job of breaking things apart, especially when she sees the impact on the children of those families. When she goes to a charity fundraiser there is a silent auction with the opportunity to go on a once in a lifetime adventure trip in Canada and she is determined to bid and prove to herself that she isn't just a stuffy lawyer, especially when she see's Mr Mysterious also bidding; her competitive nature coming out
Our main man is Eric, a very rich business tycoon, and the person Molly is bidding against. He also has insecurities of his own, will a woman want him or just his bank balance...
Molly wins the trip but Eric is so interested in it that he buys himself one from the tour operator, kayaking with killer whales and zip lining through the rainforest, I mean who wouldn't want to go (I will admit to be jealous that I can't be on this trip 😍)
Through sheer coincidence Eric and Molly end up on the trip at the same time and it's a chance for them both to rest and take time out from their work lives, even to the extent of breaking their phones to stop the temptation to have a look and see what's going on!
Most of the tour group are couples, with Eric and Molly being the odd ones out without a partner so they end up partnering up for a lot of the activities and as they get closer the sparks begin to fly but can their romance stand the test and not just be a holiday fling?
I enjoyed parts of this book more than others, especially the descriptions of the scenery and the activities that made me feel almost a part of them and have a desire to go on an adventure holiday! I did get a bit annoyed with Molly who's inner monologue was quite negative for a while but once she got over that I warmed to her
I would recommend this book to anyone who dreams of that once in a lifetime holiday and maybe meeting new people whilst there!
This book was a really enjoyable read on a number of levels. I liked the set up with the hero and heroine that they were on this trip together and that they were able to enter easily into a relationship thinking that it was a finite thing only, therefore no holding back. I liked the descriptions of the actual trip that they were on, the different experiences showed different facets of the characters’ personalities. I like the fact that the bedroom action took place behind closed doors, I do not need to read a step by step description of a seduction understand the way it affects those involved. Finally, I liked the way the Eric and Molly actually spoke with each other at the end to identify the stumbling blocks they had encountered and how they were going to resolve their issues in order to build a future together. A very satisfying read!
Molly is a divorce lawyer and for the first time in her life takes an unexpected adventure break in Canada and that’s where she meets -again – Eric, a rich businessman that recently divorced. Although the characters sat at opposite ends, the chemistry between them felt real and it sparkled. Both Molly and Eric felt like real humans with real problems trying to figure out life and where to go from there. The characters grew a lot through the story and I really liked that there was no silly miscommunication trope happening and discussed like adults and it made the angst even more potent as real feelings were in the way, and old perceptions.
This book was written with maturity and I was glued until the end, needing to know how it all ended. It was easy to relate to the characters and I felt an emotional connection to both of them. The backdrop of the story was beautiful as well, transporting me to places I have never been.
I will happily read more from this author and recommend it to the Romance enthusiasts! Not one to miss!!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a ‘True Love’ romance, these concentrate on the emotional connection between the couple and the internal and external conflicts they have to overcome to find their ‘happily-ever-after’, whilst there is sensuality in these stories, it is of the ‘closed door’ variety.
This story is a good example of the genre, Molly is a likeable heroine, who has never really experienced love, and Eric is a troubled hero, who keeps his emotions well-hidden. Both successful professionals, they are career driven to the exclusion of everything else.
The Canadian adventure holiday setting is full of vivid imagery that adds additional interest to the story and allows the couple’s past and present fears to be explored. It also is the perfect backdrop for romantic encounters.
The characters are easy to empathise and the plot is simple but effective. If you enjoy romantic stories, with engaging settings this is a lovely read.
A sweet story about love and romance, on a daring bucket list adventure, that tests, dares and strengthens the ability to stretch your comfort zones and challenge your fears to become a stronger, happier more relaxed person.
The fact that it's all rolled up into an emotional holiday romance, that finds love and has a happy ever after ending, is just the icing on the cake.
3 - "You’re my first fling." Stars.
I’m a fan of Donna Alward, although this was my first foray into her M&B/Hqn offerings. It’s no secret that you know what you are going to get with this publishers releases, the heat and sexiness varies from different imprints obviously, but Summer Escape with the Tycoon was of the closed door variety.
A change of scenery and a challenge might be exactly what she needed…
There is nothing wrong with this book, I just wasn’t wowed. I loved the places that Molly and Eric visited whilst on their Wilderness break in Canada and the way they were described, but I just felt their actual relationship fell short. Maybe in part because I am used to reading longer more in depth books from the author, I don’t know, I didn’t struggle to read it, I just don’t think it’s one I’ll remember in a few weeks.
There was something going on between them, and it wasn't friendship and comfort...
If you are looking for a few hours of escapism, with low drama and angst levels then this is definitely one I’d recommend. I’d happily read more of the author’s offerings via this publisher if I was looking for something light and stress free to read, it’s well written, I just found it a bit lacking in depth and development when it came to the actual H/h.
I really enjoyed this book, the author did a great job of setting up the story and the characters. The connection between Eric and Molly felt really genuine and the story moved at a believable pace. The scenery was described beautifully and I loved the development of both our characters. Was really impressed with this author
