Georgia Beers always delivers and as usual this book doesn’t disappoint. Dana and Sophia have great chemistry and despite this being a celebrity novel the story is entirely believable. The romance is well paced and sweet. A great holiday read.

Georgia Beers is one of the most popular lesfic authors and we really, really want to like her books but often feel that we could do with more of the madness of love in her books. She writes really well and has us invested in the relationships, but usually one of her characters ends up being a little too pragmatic for our requirement of crazy romance. This one, though, he's left us borderline angry and quite sad.

Sophie James, now 29, has been in the public eye as an internationally famous singer since she was in her teens. Her long time manager, Ray, has just died leaving her quite shattered. A couple of drunken public appearances have her recording label concerned and Dana Landon is appointed as her new manager-cum-publicist. Sophie finds herself unaccountably attracted to the openly gay Dana and a personal relationship develops between them, slowly but surely. In the meanwhile, Sophie is also trying to change her sound and her image to something edgier than the Adult Contemporary love ballads niche that she is stuck in facing severe resistance from the label.

The pacing of the book is good. The chemistry between the MCs is excellent.

Sophie is achingly sweet, sincere and vulnerable.

Dana is the problem for us (hence the borderline anger).

It hurts us when one person in a relationship is more invested and going out on a limb entirely without getting an equal response from the other. In this book, Sophie is all in while Dana is skimming the surface. Dana is consistently emotionally lacking when it comes to Sophie and shows a steady (and alarming) lack of spine when it comes to standing up for and with Sophie or standing up against her ex. Dana was too lacking for someone like Sophie.

Either consciously or sub-consciously, Beers has written Sophie as completely emotionally deprived so it is possible that the tiny bits Dana offers are actually more than she's ever got. And this thought is just so, so sad.

Recommendation? Yeah, okay, maybe.

I love Georgia Beers' books! I love the banter in them, I love the characters.... Sophie and Dana start of a wrong foot, I'd say, but there is something in Sophie Dana sees, that feels more than the media presents the young "diva". LIttle by little, they open up to each other, and they can't seem to stay out of each others' ways. Which Dana isn't sure it's a good idea.
I loved this book! It's not very angsty, but it's very fun and nice read. I usually leave Georgia Beers' books for the afternoons when I'm tired, and in need of a good romance, with a strong cup of tea. This book is a perfect adding for the afternoons like that.

Love it great romance

Sophie been a famous singer sent she was discover when she was fourteen years old.

When her manager and father figure Ray pass away she has a hard time coping with his death so she goes out drinking to numb the pain so her record label decide to step in and hire a new manager to help her clean up her image.

Dana is one of the best manager in the business so she is assign to manage Sophie she hopes she isn't going to be a handful like other celebrities she help before.

When they meet they both sursprise how comfortable they are around each other. I like the romance between Sophie and Dana and yes it was a bit quick them getting together but I didn't mind it because the characters were both likeable and their chemistry felt organic and it work with Georgia Beers writing.

There were some angst with Dana ex Laura coming back in the picture and wanting her back, Sophie struggling to stand up for herself and wanted to stir her career in another direction I love her putting Dave in his place that he was speechless to say the least. I didn't care for Sophie mother loved the friendship with Dana and Anya she was a hoot and Dana family was so loving.

I actually really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for celebrity romance because of the drama that often comes with the dynamic. This book surprisingly didn't push that aspect of the trope as far forward as some and I was okay with that.

The major conflict here stemmed primarily from the internal struggles of the characters, both Sophie, the celebrity and Dana, her manager. I felt Dana had a really good internal struggle and honestly the issues she dealt with were handle a bit differently than I tend to see. I genuinely enjoyed both the main characters. They were interesting and I felt I could sympathize with both. I even really liked Dana's ex, which I did not expect. I really appreciated that actually wasn't an antagonist in any way and I actually wanted a happy ending for her.

The only actual issue I had was that Dana didn't really feel like a manager from the get-go. Things went from professional to friendly and then some really fast. She was sort of billed as the professional, can handle the problems manager early on so I expected her to be just a bit more like that. I stilled liked her character as a whole though.

This is the 5th book I have read from Beers and I really liked it. I would say it's likely my second favorite Beers book - Blend is still my favorite.

I am a sucker for a good Celebrity romance and this one is right up my alley. Sophie James has been a singing and touring since she was 16. Her manager / father figure sudden dies of a heart attack. During the few months after she has been photographed or recorded being drunk and being helped to walk. To get a handle on this her record label assigns Dana Landon to be her manager and publicist. I am not sure if I would classify this as a slow burn or not but what I can tell you is that there is a ton of chemistry between the MC's. Sophie hasn't really dated a ton in her past just because of her hectic schedule and after meeting Dana she often questions her attraction to Dana. Dana is an out Lesbian, so she is not bothered by her attraction but knows she should not mix business with pleasure.

There are so many things I really liked about Fear of Falling. I loved the Celebrity aspect. I also liked the chemistry between the MCs. I felt that even though they initially have a business relationship, they take the time to get to know one another and become friends. This romance is also a self discovery and the willingness to accept who you are. Sophie also grows in the months after her manager dies. She never really made any decisions for herself and now is the time for her to step up to the plate and become the woman she wants to be. I just really liked this one. Oh and the sex scene...HOT! I do wish I could have seen more of their chemistry play out in the bedroom. I think that is the one thing missing from this one...more sex.

I will rate this one a sold 4.25 stars maybe even 4.5.

it was an ok read. I love the author work in general so the good writing was there for sure. that's why I wanted to like this one so bad but I did not feel the main characters. thought I must say the first kiss hey shared was very well done. I felt that

Georgia Beers captures it all - the first love, the speed we fall in love and all the fears that come with it.

I could not put this book down - the characters are beleiveable and ready to live in your imagination.

Sophie James was a very popular adult contemporary singer. After her longtime manager died, Dana Landon became her manager. They worked well together and Dana respected Sophie’s need to take on an edgier approach not only to her looks, but get music as well. After spending personal time together, both women’s relationship deepened. However, thrown into the mix was Dana’s long term ex-girlfriend,Laura, who tried to win her back. These were the moments of angst and fears that were felt by the characters.

This was another sweet romance by Georgia Beers. The characters complemented each other well. I liked the intelligent way the characters reacted to various life changes. This was a solid 4, but I felt it could have easily been a 5 if there were less scenes with Dana and Laura, and more of Sophie’s major life altering news and the reactions to it, especially from her own mother. Other than that, it was a good read.

Aaaaah. That's exactly how reading a Georgia Beers book is for me. It's like coming in from the cold, snuggling under a blanket in front of the fireplace - warm, familiar and something I'd do over and over again.

This book is like that. It's not groundbreaking in its newness, but I don't think any typical romance novel is, so for me, I read these kinds of romance books just for the fun of it. I know there's almost no possibility of being disappointed, and it's more often than not a slam dunk.

Fun, a little bit angsty, great characters. Very Georgia Beers, and very recommendable.

Georgia Beers does it again! An amazing book! Sophie and Dana are wonderful together. The book touches on life situations of career, lack of family with warmth, humor, honesty and sincere romance. Love this book and highly recommend for a great read!

This was a very good read! Georgia Beers is an exceptional writer that pulls you in! The dialogue between the characters was amazing, the story line was very solid and most importantly the romance was so heartwarming!
The blurb grabbed me from the beginning, because who isn’t a sucker of celebrity romance? :) But it wasn’t that straight forward celebrity it was deeper than that with some interesting complications in the middle!
I fell in love with one of the MCs family during a thanksgiving break, I just wished their role was a bit more in the overall plot!
This is a 4.5 rounded up to 5! I think for some reason, I wanted a bit more! I just didn’t want the story to end (it wasn’t a rushed ending, but I felt at some parts the author could’ve given us a bit more).
Some spelling mistakes were there but I couldn’t care less because the story was very solid!
I would definitely recommend this, I think it’s one of the best that Georgia Beers has written lately!

Everyone looking from the outside would think she lives the dream life. The truth is, she is basically all alone other than the companionship of two friends, her longtime stylist and makeup artist. Her mother sees her as a cash cow and the only person she could look to as a loving parent figure, her long-time manager Ray, has suddenly passed away. Sophie is beginning to realize that she needs to forge her own life and start making music that means something to her.

Dana Landon has just been assigned Sophie as her new client. She will be the singer’s PR specialist as well as her manager. She could not be less excited. Sophie has gone a bit off the rails since Ray’s death and the last thing Dana needs is a superstar that has public drunken escapades she has to clean up. Dana really doesn’t think too highly of the “diva” she now represents.
What I really adored about this book is how the main characters, Sophie and Dana, played off each other. The unhurried pace lets them develop from a business relationship, then to friends, and then finally to lovers. Beers sets a nice pace, not too long, not too short and just enough heat to keep you begging for more. It’s the little moments or intimacy between Dana and Sophie that really hook you. You the reader are right there for every step and misstep on their journey. Georgia Beers always delivers amazing stories. This is a book that will charm you and leave you with a smile. Not a bad way to spend your time.
