Here we have Gino Rolseth and Leo Magozzi investigating the murder of Kelly Ramage whilst the Monkeewrench crew are working on the IT security of a ‘bitcoin’ company. It was hacked and they are not only trying to make it secure but also trace the hacker.
For those who know the series we get the ongoing characters storyline which is nicely weaved into each book and yet does not stop any of them being read as a stand-alone. Still this is a really terrific series and I think you will enjoy starting with, or going back to, the first one. The series in order is given below. This is the tenth book in the series it carries on the high standard of writing, characterisations and intricate plotting.
I want to say that it is the storyline that I love the most – it is and I do but the characters Gino, Magozzi, Grace, Roadrunner, Annie, Harley, baby Elizabeth and the wider police team all make these books personal. You want to know what is happening with them as much as you want to be drawn into the investigations.
Minnesota is gripped in a bitterly cold winter and even that will play its part in both the storyline and the plot. It is the way that you are given what seem to be disparate investigations along with other threads of storyline to build up into a whole that will keep you guessing, gripped and thoroughly hooked.
This is a terrific book and I would highly recommend it.
Thanks
‘As you’ve read previous titles by P.J Tracy, we thought you’d like to know that you can now read the latest in the Twin Cities series, Ice Cold Heart, available to read now on Netgalley!‘
Thanks Michael Joseph Comms for the invitation to read and for an eCopy via NetGalley.
I will, of course, be buying the paperback in October to go in my collection…
Thankyou to NetGalley, Penguin UK - Michael Joseph and the author, P J Tracy, for the opportunity to read an advanced readers copy of Ice Cold Heart in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I jumped at the chance to review this book as I really like the way the author writes. You never know where the storyline will take you. This book was certainly no exception.
The storyline was well written with compelling characters. I was hooked from the start, furiously turning the pages to see how the story was going to end.
Well worth a read.
I love the Monkeewrench team along with Detectives Gino and Magozzi and book 9 doesn't disappoint even without the input of joint author P.J who sadly passed away, but her daughter Traci Lambrecht is keeping up the brilliant writing with this latest instalment, Ice cold heart.
Without giving to much away, this novel deals with the BDSM scene alongside war crimes and crypto currency theft, its all in a days work for the team and Detectives Gino and Magozzi's find the crimes they are investigating begin to overlap with Monkeewrenches job. As always its good writing and a pacy plot with a few implausible moments thrown it but hey its fiction, but i definitely look forward to book 10.
This was another instalment of the Twin cities series with Detectives Gino and Magozzi with the monkeewrench crew. You don’t need to of read the previous books in the series but it adds more depth to the characters if you have.
This one involves both a serial killer possibly a crazed fan of an artist and a search for a war criminal. It was a great read and I really enjoyed how it all came together.
Highly recommend.
Thanks to Michael Joseph and NetGalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.

Another great read full of all our favourite characters. I really enjoyed seeing thier relationships change and grow. The story was interesting and kept me turning, although I had to read it in 2 sessions.
I am looking forward to seeing how new friendships progress.
Thank you very much for the advanced copy. I love this series very much so I HAD to read the latest instalment. It didn’t disappoint either. In fact I read in one sitting, I didn’t want to put it down. Really different to what I’ve been reading lately and a good change. I’m not going to go into the storyline because you need to read it for yourself. Can’t wait for the next one.
A brilliant read, lots to take in but persevered. Story of Kelly Ramage who was murdered after lying to her husband to have a night out. Detectives Gino and Magozzi are on the case, hunting for an elusive murderer. A twisty story that comes together.
** spoiler alert ** 3.5 stars
There is a lot going on in this. War criminals, murder, sex games, psychic,a currency scam I didn't understand, disturbing art, and a new friend for Roadrunner.
Amongst all that,is the usual gang, doing what they do .
Annie was a bit part player in this, but apart from that, they worked their magic and all came good.
A nice addition to a long running series.
