This was an intriguing story. It's clear the author knows what they're talking about, and managed to keep decent tension going throughout the story. The one major downside were the occasional info dumps that interrupted the flow of the story. The overall story, following the trek across the length of Africa, was absolutely fascinating with little side bits scattered throughout. I really did enjoy that it was part political commentary and part travel journal. If you're looking for a straight thriller, you might be disappointed, however.
Shelter Rock is the first book I have read from this author and it was quite enjoyable.
In this story, we meet Elanza and Ralph during a time when South Africa is being attacked. However, when Ralph disappears Angel, a spy sets out to find him and settle an old score. A very well-written thriller, Shelter Rock is full of all the necessary characteristics to make this a great novel.
