Wow what a book
This book has so many ups and downs, twists and turns.
This book is addictive. I read in one day and absolutely loved it.
A must read

This was an absolutely fantastic book. It was full of so many lies, twists and turns I genuinely didn’t know who to believe or what to expect. One of my top reads this year and I throughly recommend this book. A well deserved 5 stars

Written from two points of view, Adele Parks has succeeded in capturing the complexities of relationships and with so many twists and turns in the plot, she keeps the reader engrossed.
The novel deals with alcoholism, bullying and other antisocial behaviour, so not an everyday domestic drama. Nevertheless an enjoyable read.
My thanks to Net galley, the publisher and author for allowing me to read an advance copy in exchange for an honest review

Simon and Daisy seem to have tge perfect life a lovely home good jobs and a beautiful daughter.
Until one day Simon decides he would like another child, Daisy is distraught about the idea as it took them 4 lots of IVF and years of pain and disappointment to conceive their gorgeous girl and with the way that Simon is drinking these days it really isn't a great idea.
One trip to the fertility clinic changes their world forever.

Another hit ! I loved it :) 8/10
I have read all of Adele’s other books and I can honestly say this was a brilliant read :)
You can always be guaranteed a with story with an Adele Parks book :)

Another great story from Adele Parks, a fab author. This story was heartbreaking and compelling and completely hooked me in from the first page xx

Adele Parks has a real gift for capturing the intricacies of relationships, whether it's parent/child, husband/wife or groups of friends. I love the way that nothing is quite as black and white as it seems, and was engrossed from first to last, riveted by the twists and turns.

I am already a huge fan of Adele parks and have read all of her novels, since picking up a copy of one of her early books at a holiday villa in Turkey around 12 years ago. I never have to read the blurb; I just know it’s a book I’m going to enjoy. This one blew me away. It is completely compelling reading. As an author I feel she is growing and moving in a slightly different direction with this one, more action, more gripping storylines, and sooo many twists and turns! Her last two books have been on a similar vein, but as this book is so aptly named, the lies just keep coming. And keeping us guessing.
Simon is an alcoholic. We know this from the very start. He is destroying the life him and his wife and daughter have and breaking up their little family. Yet he wants more. He wants more children, Daisy does not, she is happy with the one daughter they are blessed with after years of infertility. But she loves Simon and goes along with him initially. He is weak, as is Daisy at times as she seems to bury her head in the sand - and his drinking starts to affect more than their little bubble; it starts to hurt their daughter and come between their supportive friend group. Daisy is understandably defensive; she wants to protect him and is in denial that everyone can see he needs help - she needs help.
I liked Daisy, although at times you wanted to shake her and make her seek help, but who knows how you would be in such a relationship....and I could actually sympathise with Simon despite hating what he was doing at the same time, as he does clearly love his family. They have a close friend group, made up of Daisy’s old college friends and their partners. This is a group of friends that we can immediately relate to. Connie who is the outgoing party lover and mother of 3 girls, Lucy who made a mistake in the past and has been judged and punished for it ever since, but shows her true colours when her friend needs her most. Rose, Daisy’s sister and confidante who she is currently struggling to confide in. The husbands - all friends who socialise together and who’s kids all get along like family. But Simon is set to spoil things with his addiction. Not only that but an old college friend shows up who we immediately know is going to cause ructions in the group, and it all escalates from here. I don’t want to give too much away. It certainly left me guessing on many occasions, I like to think I usually work out plot lines and can guess a twist but not this time.
A couple of times I felt like there should have been a warning - I was looking around me thinking “did that just happen” .... not just once, but on many occasions. And all through the book, right up until the epilogue.
I actually put the book (well my kindle) down when I was almost finished to take a breath and prepare myself for what was coming. That, and I didn’t want it to end. This was going to be a big book hangover!
The only criticism I have of Adele parks is her novels are too far apart; I literally cannot wait on the next one when I’ve finished reading one of her novels. But they are so worth the wait! This is one of the best books I’ve read in a while, certainly this year, and one that will stay with me for a very long time. The characters are so real, the friend group so relatable.. Whether it is the first one you have read, or you have read her previous novels, you simply must read this one. This book tackles addiction, love, loss, infidelity, fertility issues, abuse, friendships ... and that’s not all. For me, her novels get better and better and I have to say this is by far her best yet. A truly amazing book - I hope there’s not too long a wait for the next one!
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the chance to read this ARC.

Oh my goodness so many twists in this story. Just when you think there can’t be any more lies another one appears all of them totally shocking. I could not put this book down. I read late in to the night eagerly wanting to find out what happened next.

Adele Parks never sugar coats her novels and this is a prime example
Daisy and Simon meet at university marry and have a happy life even happier when their daughter Millie arrives
They still hang around in the same group as at university with a few differences Lucy slept with Daisy's brother in law and Daisy will never let Lucy forget it as Daisy always holds a grudge even for 15 years
Then Simon starts drinking a little too much too often and Daisy hates it he wanted another baby but even though they never did anything to stop a pregnancy there was no more babies
Simons drinking gets worse until one night after getting so drunk Daisy tells him to leave the part they are at as she is driving them home but then Simon is driving and they are almost home and why is Millie in the middle of the road?
Will Millie survive will their marriage ?
The answers come thick and fast in this at times breathtaking novel and are they the same answers you would give?

Not overly enamoured with this book. It took me a few chapters to "get there" to a point where the story took off. I found it hard to bond with the main characters Simon and Daisy. Their relationship was difficult to follow, Simon being an alcoholic (and a total idiot) and Daisy who came across as weedy and weak.
I do not want to spoil the plot for anyone as it did get better the more I read.
Adele Parks is one of my favourite authors and after reading "I Invited Her In" I was expecting more with Lies, Lies, Lies.

Synopsis
Daisy and Simon's marriage is great, isn't it? After years together, the arrival of longed-for daughter Millie sealed everything in place. A happy little family of three. And so what if Simon drinks a bit too much sometimes - Daisy's used to it, she knows he's letting off steam. Until one night at a party things spiral horribly out of control. And that happy little family of three will never be the same again.
In Lies Lies Lies, Sunday Times bestseller Adele Parks explores the darkest corners of a relationship in freefall in a mesmerising tale of marriage and secrets
I didn't like any of the characters, I didn't like the subject matter and I didn't like story, so not a great review I'm afraid! It did pick up slightly about a third of the way through but then it went back to being predictable. Thanks to Netgalley for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
2/5*

An interesting and quick read. This suggests that it is an easy topic but that is not correct. This deals with alcoholism, bullying and other antisocial behaviours. The different lies we tell not only to protect ourselves but others too is a topic that is well explored.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book

This book was a slow burner, for the first 30%, it was just dull and tedious and I nearly gave up on it. Then it improved and got my attention only to become dull again until the ending.
Simon was an awful character and Daisy wasn’t much better.
The book was well written and the bits I enjoyed were good. However, I cant really recommend this book, it was very depressing in places.
Rated 2/5

Felt like this was a bit of a slow burner and it certainly took me a while to get into the story but then once it did I found it hard to put down. The twists and turns of the plot aren’t exactly great mysteries so you can predict what is going to happen but this doesn’t stop the suspense or the thrill of energetic pace picking up the darker the story gets.
I enjoyed this idea of seeing how even the lies we tell to ourselves or to protect can be lethal and poisonous to you and your relationships, I like the way Adele Parks makes you question your moral standing with lies and what is forgivable as well as what can be ordinary life that follows the darker path

Wow! I raced through this book, and even though I guessed one of the twists early on it still managed to suprise me. The story is told through the 2 main characters Simon and Daisy. To start with I disliked both characters, with Simon being an alcoholic and Daisy being too passive - a few times I wanted to yell at her to stand up for herself! However as the book progresses the characters grew on me, and I found myself sympathising with them. As past secrets are revealed the book really picks up the pace and I couldn't put it down. A very enjoyable thriller

I never repeat the blurb. This was another great read from this excellent and consistently exciting writer. I guessed one twist but not the other, so there are twists and turns galore - you learn who your friends are...

Adele Parks never fails me!! She is one of my go-to authors and I have thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Simon was deeply unlikeable and selfish and it irritated me to a degree how Daisy had put up with such behaviour for so long. There were some twists and turns which kept me guessing but I don’t want to say too much in case I spoil it. Thanks to Netgalley, the author and HQ for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

I am a big fan of Adele Parks, so when I was sent her latest book to review from Netgalley I was very excited to read it. I have to be honest, I didn't like the main character at first - I thought she was quite judgy and sanctimonious. But as the story unfolded and I got to know her better I felt in turns sorry for her and proud of her.
The story made me feel squirmy and uncomfortable in a way that not many books have done - there is nothing formulaic about this book, I have never read anything like it and once I got past the first few chapters I found myself enjoying it and sneaking off to read it whenever I could! It's impossible to even try and describe the story without giving it away, but there are so many twists and turns you will need to remind yourself to breathe every now and then!
A great book - thoroughly enjoyed it.

This was an easy read which did draw me in. The majority of the book I would class a domestic noir, rather than psychological thriller which I expected. The characters gave me mixed emotions, at times I liked them and rooted for them, and at others the exact opposite! As the title suggests there are lots of lies in the book and therefore lots of twists. It’s quite a sad book, but with a thread of optimism alongside.
**There is a short section towards the end which describes a brutal death of a kitten. I saw it coming earlier on in the book, and don’t like reading about animals being hurt in my books. However it is brief, then referred to - again briefly - the next morning too.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
