A nice, very often steamy read. Adorable characters you root for and a lovely story with a happy vibe, what more can you ask for in a good romance. Entertaining read.

This new series centers around three sisters who had left home and now as adults , return home when the father claims he will be selling the family’s struggling ranch. They are determined to keep the ranch by incorporating each of their talents.
One of them, Kelly Sullivan left home when her father threw her out because she was pregnant and didn’t reveal the child’s father.
Trent Campbell , a bullfighter that suffered a serious injury, was the father. He never forgot Kelly, but with no last name, and a phone that was destroyed, he never knew .
Life’s twits and turns brings them face to face.
Though the story started with great promise, it loss steam , and the push and pull between Trent and Kelly was exhausting. I was never fulling engaged.

A very sweet, and sometimes sex-explicit, story, featuring an alluring wounded hero and a strong heroine and centered on the “secret baby” trope, “The Cowboy’s Daughter” is a very enjoyable, quick read.
I loved that Trent’s injuries aren’t downplayed, on the contrary, and its lingering effects – limping, pain – are thoroughly described and not forgotten (!) in the narrative, as often happens with many authors. Jamie K. Schmidt wrote a great wounded hero in pain, making him both charming and vulnerable, which isn’t an easy task.
The former bull rider immediately bonds with his daughter and reconnects with the heroine, Kelly, their previous intense chemistry reestablished too (perhaps a bit too quickly, bit it flowed very well). I loved how the author wrote this process, and how the decency of the characters shone through. Trent is a sort of a reformed Don Juan, but his attachment to Kelly and Alissa is undeniable.
There’s an interesting background story including saving Kelly’s family ranch and Trent setting a bull rider school. The author managed to write one of the most obnoxious fathers (Kelly’s) I can remember.
I found the graphic sex scenes a bit redundant and Trent’s reaction to an eventual second child somewhat naïve and contrived.

This is the first book in this new series. I have fallen in love with the town and the people in this book. The first book is about Trent and Kelly. Five years ago they had a one night stand and Kelly ended up pregnant. She tried to reach out to Trent and let him know and she really thought he got her messages. Now five years later she comes face to face with Trent again and she finds out that he knew nothing about his daughter. The chemistry between them is still strong and they still have very strong feelings for each other. There is so much going on in each of their lives and they find it hard to let go of their insecurities. Will past mistakes come back to haunt them or will they get that new start they both really want and deserve? I cannot wait until Emily and Janice’s book. This was an enjoyable and well written story about two characters that were torn appart by fate. Years later they end up in the same town and Kelly has a pretty BIG secret.

Trent and Kelly met at Rodeo and had a romance/one night stand. But Trent really liked her until she disapeard on him. Years later he still thinks about her.Kelly ended up pregnant and homeless and now years later she is a mom and works in NYC with her aunt who took her in.

She gets a call from her father (yes the one threw her out) and he says he is going to sell the ranch unless she comes hom, so she comes home and her two other sisters. Her plan is to build a photographer business on the ranch.

Meanwhile Trent is now opening his business on the ranch and well thats how the two see each other again. And tahts all I am going to say about the plot to not spoil the fun. This was fun and about two people who never forgot the other and have a very strong connection and finding each other again.

What a truly delightful book this was.

I liked that in many ways this was a secret baby book but yet it wasn't. It wasn't the type of book where one parent tried to keep it a secret or once they met again, it got strung along before the big reveal.

I really liked the character of Kelly. She was an amazing mother and sister. She tried her hardest to be a great daughter but her father wasn't someone who was easy to love. I admire what she has done with herself while being a single parent to a lovely little girl. I also respected how she tried to get in contact with Trent about the pregnancy but yet things happened and he never found out.

Trent is a man who is looking to reinvent himself. After an ugly turn on a bull he has been slowly finding himself again and is well on his way when he sees Kelly again. I really enjoyed when Trent found out. He took to fatherhood immediately and also began to wonder about others. This just tells you the type of stand up kind of guy he was.

Cute foray into a common trope.

I'm going to be honest, the accidental pregnancy trope is not my favorite, but I LOVED the cover of the book.

When she became pregnant, her father threw her out because she wouldn’t tell him the baby’s father was his rodeo hero—the hero who ghosted her when she tried so many times to tell him about their daughter."

As much as I wanted to love this book, I felt that at times it was too detailed on things that weren't as relevant (the sister's plan to move home and save the family ranch) but too little on the significant issues (Trent's relationship with his daughter). Also, very clear that this book was NOT a one and done. It was clear that the reader would need to invest in at least two more books to reveal the stories of the two other sisters.

Cute read, but not blown away.

I enjoyed reading this book. It kept me interested as the characters were. normal, funny at times and interesting. The plot kept going, it was a romance with plenty of detail about bull riding.There was a happy ending with the family all coming together. I would recommend this book to be read.

Cowboy’s Daughter is a heartwarming romance with an adorable five-year-old, and a unique plot involving a second chance at love between a bull rider and the woman he could never forget. The writing is emotional, bringing tears on more than one occasion. I loved Kelly’s irascible father. He’s so stubborn but loveable! In fact, I enjoyed all the characters. Ms. Schmidt is very good at character development.

Kelly is such a sweetheart! I fell in love with her from the first page. She’s smart, determined and is will willing to return to Three sisters Ranch to help save it, even though her father turned his back on her when she needed him the most. There’s so much to admire! She truly deserves to find her happy ending.

Trent is an awesome hero. He’s so forgiving and accepting. Most men would not have been so understanding when he finds out his mentor’s decisions kept him away from his daughter. His determination to put his hurt aside and accept Kelly and his daughter into his life is amazing.

The chemistry is swift and powerful when Kelly and Trent see each other again. Even though there’s plenty of hot, sexual scenes, their underlying love is emotional and added to the enjoyment tremendously.

If you’re looking for a romance that will put a smile on your face, you will love Cowboy’s Daughter as much as I. I can’t wait to read the next book in this outstanding series. Happy reading!

After not hearing from Trent about her preganancy, I was expecting more of an explosive encounter when they met the next time. so, I was kind of disappointed when Trent is so excited to see her and Kelly acts like nothing is wrong and kisses him.

I also thought that Trent would be more upset after finding out that his manager kept Kelly's message from him but again, he seems pretty quick to forgive Billy.

While I enjoyed the second chance romance and Trent getting to know is daughter, Kelly was not my favorite as she either wanted to run away from problems or not face issues in her life. When she finally confronted her parents at the end, I was so happy! Mice HEA and looking forward to seeing what happens with Nate and Janice and I am guessing Emily and the game hunter, donovan. That sounds like an unlikely pair!

Kelly Sullivan is a professional photographer and single mom of 5 yr-old, Alissa. Kelly is kicked out of her home by her father because she won’t name her daughter’s father and moves to New York. Trent Campbell is a former bull rider whose career was prematurely ended by an enraged bull. He’s spent a considerable amount of time in rehabilitation for his injuries. Trent and Kelly both have vivid memories of their one night together and wish there could have been more. Circumstances have led them both back to their hometown. Can Kelly risk her heart again, knowing that this time she won’t be the only one hurt?

The Cowboy’s Daughter is an easy but fulfilling read. The story held my attention from start to finish. The characters, scenery and plot are all exceptionally rendered. This novel is unputdownable. I rate it a solid 5 out of 5 and recommend it to all readers of romance novels. Be aware that there is explicit sexual content that might be offensive to some readers.

The Cowboy's Daughter by Jamie K. Schmidt is the first book in her Three Sisters Ranch series. This was a quick and easy read with the usual family angst where in the end you'll have a HEA. I'd give the book a 4.5 rating only because I would've loved to have a conclusion with Kelly Sullivan and her father. While I understand the ending where Trent makes a choice to be in the rodeo again I have to wonder why? Yes, money and the bull's good stuff is a good reason.

Kelly Sullivan had a one night stand with a pro bull riding Trent Campbell when the rodeo came to Last Stand, Texas. She wouldn't tell her father who the father of the baby was so she had to leave the ranch for NYC to becoming a portrait photographer. She doesn't know Tent will be crushed by his last bull ride, have his phone stolen that leaves him with injuries that has taken years to recover. When Kelly receives a message from her father that the ranch will be sold all three sisters will go back home trying to mend ties with her dad. Will she be able to heal herself, father and Trent and make a go of her business on the ranch?

Trent Campbell misses two things Kelly his one night stand and bull riding so when he's asked to announce the rodeo in Last Stand he wonders if he'll see Kelly again. When she finds out he's renting land from her father for his bull riding school she'll have to introduce him to his daughter and decide if her business doesn't get a loan will she have to share Alissa with him? When Kelly's father has another heart attack and he's injured at the rodeo will he be able to convince her to stay in Last Stand?

Nice enjoyable solid book. I loved the characters but find a story just a little bit slow at times. Wasn't as drawn to it as I hoped. However it was good and would recommend it.

A great start to a new series The Cowboy’s Daughter by a new to me author Jamie K. Schmidt that I’ll be sure to check out more books by. Book one in The Three Sister’s Ranch pulled me in from first page with it’s storyline. Likable character and a well written plot. I look forward to reading next in series

The Cowboy's Daughter is the first book in Jamie K. Schmidt’s Three Sisters Ranch. As the series title implies, this will essentially follow the three Sullivan sisters, and tell the story behind each of their travels after leaving the family ranch and what has ultimately brought them all home.

This first book is Kelly’s story. A woman scorned by those who should have supported and loved her, she has come home in an attempt to save a place with painful memories, but the home she always adored. But Kelly isn’t arriving alone; and the surprise that awaits an unsuspecting Cowboy, will rock the very foundation of hero worship, years of heartbreaking betrayal and long buried feelings that are not welcome in this tenuous reunion.

The Cowboy's Daughter is a well-written, emotional and heartfelt story, with a bevy of characters, an informative and intriguing storyline, and plenty of angst, drama and passion too. I thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful tale and can’t wait to see what happens with Janice and Emily too!

The Cowboy's Daughter gives you all the feels. Anger over a hard-headed and ill-tempered father who'd run his daughter off- compassion & frustration for Kelly who flees to NY to live with an aunt after being kicked out of her home, then comes home to help save a ranch to a dad who isn't readily remorseful, he's ungrateful and always ready to throw her faults in her face- love for a sweet little girl named Alissa- fear & compassion for Trent who is bull headed and can't learn a lesson the easy way when it comes to the rodeo, and compassion for his losses of people he didn't even know he had but gets to finally meet.

I enjoyed the going ons of the ranch and know it promises other great things to come in this seris.

Disappointed. The premise of the story is an excellent one but the “daughter” aspect was a huge disappointment.

For one, she never called him Daddy!!! I don’t want to give away spoilers but that part of the story flopped due to other storylines. Like Michael. What was that?? Huge turn off!!

And the ending...... totally unrealistic. I was left wanting more between Dad and Daughter!!!!

Kelly doesn't regret having her daughter 5 years ago but she was devastated when her father threw her out for not telling him who the father was. Trent, a popular rodeo bull rider, met Kelly one night and they had great chemistry but he had no idea she got pregnant. Right after he met Kelly, he was severely injured riding a bull. His manager wanted him to focus on getting better so he kept Kelly's pregnancy from Trent. Trent has never forgotten Kelly and he can't believe it's her when he meets her again. Finding out he has a daughter and wanting a relationship with Kelly means he's going to have to overcome some family issues but Trent is all in. Enjoyable western romance!
