This book was so good. The story was breathtaking. Ryker and Vaughn were wonderfully written. The chemistry between the characters was so palpable. It radiated off the page. This book will keep you invested the whole time you are reading it. With every turn of the page, you want to root for them as a couple and then you get hit with a cliffhanger. I have to wait to see what happens next. I need to know what happens between Ryker and Vaughn. I can’t wait until book 2.

Ryker and Vaughn drove me crazy in the best possible way! This one is packed with passion and I loved the connection between the two characters - even if they had me wanting to shake them at times. I love a story that makes me feel.

Nous suivons les aventures de Vaughn, une jeune femme qui mène une double vie. Aux yeux de tous, elle est barmaid dans un bar chic et branché et tente d’éponger une grosse dette financière causée par l’aide médicale apportée à sa sœur, aujourd’hui décédée. Mais elle est aussi Vee, patronne d’une entreprise d’escortes de luxe, qui propose ses services a des hommes d’influence.

Ses deux vies sont bien séparées, car elle mène de front un combat difficile pour avoir la garde de sa nièce et à besoin de l’argent de son entreprise cachée pour éponger ses dettes sans que cela soit découvert.

Mais tout va basculer lorsque l’une de ses escortes se retrouve en difficulté avec un client. Blessée, elle ne pourra pas honorer son contrat avec Ryker, un nouveau client que Vee a tout fait pour ajouter à son carnet d’adresses.

Dans l’impasse, elle décide d’y aller elle-même, prenant un gros risque pour garder Ryker comme client. Leur rencontre sera explosive, et à partir de ce moment, plus rien ne se passera comme l’avait prévu Vaughn.

Vaughn intrique Ryker, et cet homme est du genre tenace. Il fera tout ce qu’il peut pour comprendre, gratter la surface et découvrir qui se cache derrière les deux facettes de cette femme. Leur relation va peu à peu dériver, chacun va détruire les murs de l’un et l’autre au point d’envisager quelque chose ensemble, sans faux semblants.

La tension dans ce livre est palpable, et c’est ce qui m’a le plus séduite. Leur couple n’a pas lui d’être si on regarde d’où ils viennent et les bagages qui trainent, et pourtant cela fonctionne ! L’obstination de Ryker et la douceur de Vaughn se mêlent à merveille.

La fin est terrible, c’est un gros cliffhanger qui vous laisse avec un sacré paquet de questions et des émotions sans dessus dessous. Je ne savais pas que cela allait être le cas et, si j’avais su, j’aurais attendu que la suite soit disponible car l’attente va être longue…

En bref, une romance explosive entre deux âmes qui n’auraient pas dû se rencontrer. Vaughn et Ryker vont lutter contre cette attraction, pour notre plus grand plaisir. Si vous aimez les histoires passionnées, elle est faite pour vous. Et si vous détestez les cliffhanger, attendez le 24 septembre pour découvrir cette histoire qui vaut le détour !

I’m a big fan of K. Bromberg’s but I was as uncertain about a madam as a heroine, I needn’t have worried I was sucked into Vaughn’s story from the very beginning and it wasn’t long before I was totally rooting for her! I loved watching their relationship develop. The twist at then end totally shocked me, I didn’t see it coming at all, I’m desperate to know what happens next, where Vaughn goes from here, hopefully the next book will be out soon.

It has been a minute since I read a book by K. Bromberg. I have enjoyed every book I have read of hers, life just got in the way. But I am so glad I decided to pick this one up. I do not even know where to start, except to say I absolutely loved Resist by K. Bromberg. I was consumed by this book, the characters and their journey. I devoured this book. I could not read fast enough and yet I did not want it to end and when I did get to the end, I wanted to throw my eReader. This is K. Bromberg in her absolute best.

I want to just tell you everything I loved about thig book and yet I do not want to give too much of the story away. This is a story you should just dive into and enjoy. I can say I loved Vaughn
Ryker so much. Vaughn was strong and determined and yet vulnerable. She was set on her path and then Ryker entered her life. Ryker is a man used to getting what he wants. He could be ruthless and cold. Neither wanted the other, and yet the heart wants what it wants. Drawn to each other, can they play this cat and mouse game and win? Resist by K. Bromberg is a must-read for this year. It is captivating from start to finish.

I discovered K Bromberg's work with the Driven Trilogy, and became hooked with her unique story telling, and with Resist she takes us back to the same complex, intriguing characters, and compelling prose that not only entertains, but captivates your interest and draws you into their world.

Ryker and Vaughan are such complex, and intriguing characters. They have a lot in common both are driven, independent, strong willed and more than a little damaged by the events of their pasts. Vaughan is a strong, resilient female, but also has deep vulnerabilities. Ryker is a cocky, egotistical and ruthless alpha who is used to getting what he wants. He also has a softer side that i didn't expect to see.

The chemistry between this pair is undeniable, despite the fact that they tend to butt heads and argue frequently due to the similarities in their natures. Their interactions are fraught with angst and power struggles, but with every interaction the sexual tensions just oozes beneath the surface.

I was captivated by the cover of Resist and didn't realise that it was part of a series, and now it's left me with the biggest book hangover waiting to discover what will happen next.

You will not be disappointed if you pick up Resist!

WHOAAAAAAA!!!! That ending!!!!
This book had everything! Heat level off the charts, romance and attraction out of this world and a connection that only grew and evolved as the book went on. I loved the buildup to the end and now cannot wait for Reveal!!!!!! K.Bromberg at her best!

If you like your angst filled power plays, try and resist this one.

K. Bromberg introduces us to Vee, a tough as steel Madame with a heart of gold. Vee has been dealt an awful hand in life, but rather than lie down and give up she’s embraced two important survival techniques, fight or flight. Becoming a Madame is just part of the plan to pay off her debts and win custody of her disabled niece. She never thought it would lead to love and a guy that wants her, baggage and all.

But as her web of lies starts to fall apart, Vee realises that this time she may have been the one getting played.

Resist is filled with angst, battles for dominance and shows of power. Vee and Ryker operate in a world where everyone wants more and nothing is more precious that pride and reputation. Our characters are constantly butting heads and trying to come out on top, with no one wanting to concede.

With power and reputation so important a lot of the book is dedicated to banter and stalemates which is at times sexy, but did go on a little long for me. Once Vee and Ryker seem to come to terms with their attraction and the story gets moving I started to get hooked. Vee’s tragic past was sad however with Vee working through her issues and also spending cute moments with her niece there is hope that her life will work out and she will have a lovely little family.

I wouldn’t say it’s a “fun” read as there was very little lightness in this story but it was interesting and filled with amusing banter. If you like your love stories with a side of mystery, lies and betrayal this is the romance for you.

The cliff hanged ending reminded me a lot of how Fifty Shades of Grey ends unfortunately. There is a massive falling out and what? Suddenly the books over? Annoying. But need to know what happens…

WOW! Just WOW! Kristy wrote an amazing story here, I can't even begin to tell you how great this one is! Kristy never disappoints with her stories, and this one is just ugh so damn good!
Meet Vaughn(Vee) who's doing what she has to, to get her end result. When she agree's to meet Ryker for a "date", little do both of them know it will become more than that. Vaughn is trying to do all she can to accomplish what she needs, but after her date with Ryker, her mind is completely blown by past memories, and Ryker know's something is going on with her, but can't figure out just what, but god help him, he needs to find out.
That's all your going to get, I can't get specific here, you just have to get the book and read along as the story unfold, you will not be disappointed, you will get sucked right in and won't be able to put this one down. It is a cliffhanger, but it's ok, I can't wait for the next book in this series! Grab this one asap! Enjoy the ride that only Kristy Bromberg can take you on!

Ms. Bromberg has done it again. Just when I’m certain she cannot make me feel more, fall in love harder, question more, she does exactly that with Resist. Vaughn and Ryker are explosive together. Their chemistry is unmatched. I found myself equally intrigued by both characters.

I see glimpses of what Ryker is not yet ready to share and it only makes me love him more. He is all man but out of his depth with everything Vaughn and her situation have him feeling.

Don’t even get me started with the cuteness of Lucy. She is a ray of sunshine and an important part of their story.

Vaughn is a tough nut to crack. In true Bromberg fashion she is a fierce heroine carrying a heavy load. I enjoy all the sides to her many personalities. She is smart, dedicated, and also a beautiful contradiction of hard and soft.

Resist left me with a soul deep yearning to know more. It is a ride I’m happy to continue. There is much to explore and discover and I cannot wait to find all the answers in Reveal.

My heart is beating out of my chest after reading this story. I need more. I absolutely fell in love with these characters and this story has me on the edge of my seat. It is such a great read. It is sexy and emotional and addictive. I love K. Bromberg's work. She has yet to disappoint me and this story was no different. I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.

First off, I’m a huge K. Bromberg fan. I was so excited to receive this ARC! Resist was so, so good. An excellent book involving Vaughn and Ryder. They meet under untraditional circumstances and become involved. Vaughn has a lot on her plate and her goal is to obtain custody of her niece, Lucy. The twists and turns of this book made it impossible for me to put down! I read it in one day. And now I need the second part - hello, cliffhanger! I can’t wait to read the next book!

I didn’t think I was going to like this book when I started it but as I kept reading, it grabbed me & wouldn’t let go. Now I’m frustrated because this was a cliff hanger book. I loved Vaughn’s character she seemed so strong & badass but was actually broken by past tragedy & present problems that you wonder how she’s still standing. Ryker is the typical shark divorce lawyer who we really don’t get to see the true him until further into the story. I loved their first conversation & their first meeting but what I really enjoyed was watching him fall hard. I enjoyed the chemistry between them but I also enjoyed how he took to Vaughn’s niece Lucy. Now I’m totally at a loss!

Wow!! Steam steamy steaaamy! Get me a fan!

I loved that this kicked off with an equally matched strong willed duo! Ryker and Vaughn feel that chemistry straight off the bat and use that strong will to resist and fight it as much as possible.

There are secrets, there is list, there is a game of cat and mouse and I devoured it!

Can’t wait to see what happens next for these two- story ends on a massive cliffhanger! I will most definitely be snapping up the next one!!

J'ai absolument adoré cette nouvelle duologie de K Bromberg et je peux d'ores et déjà vous dire que l'attente sera longue avant la sortie de Reveal fin septembre. L'auteur a réussi à me surprendre jusqu'au tout dernier moment et j'ai adoré découvrir tout autant Vaughn que Ryker.



Vaughn Sanders est une jeune femme qu'on va découvrir sous différents visages . On la voit un premier en femme d'affaires qui défend bec et ongles son entreprise Wicked Ways et qui n'a pas peur d'affronter les tracas. Même si son agence d'escort pourrait sembler futile de prime abord, nous allons connaître les raisons de cette aventure particulière. Elle saura défendre Lola dans un moment difficile et on sent que cela ne sera pas sans conséquences. On attend donc le retour de bâton et on espère que la chute ne sera pas trop dure. Vaughn est donc connue sous le pseudonym Vee et il est hors de questions que l'on découvre ce qu'elle trame. On la verra aussi sous les traits d'une tante attentionnée qui va tout mettre en oeuvre pour prendre soin de sa nièce Lucy et cette dernière m'a vraiment touchée. Cette petite a subi des épreuves qui sont loin d'être terminées et pourtant , elle a cette innocence en elle qui est logique à son âge. Vaughn va ainsi faire son possible qu'un bonheur se profile à l'horizon.



Ce que j'ai aimé par dessus tout est sa force de caractère car on sent qu'elle a d'énormes failles et se confier est une chose inconcevable d'autant plus qu'elle ne maîtrise pas complètement la situation. Quand elle va affronter Ryker, elle saura l'envoyer dans les cordes mais le jeu qui va s'installer entre eux pourrait être dangereux. Ils savent tous les deux qu'ils sont entrain de jouer une partie d'échecs et que tous les coups seront permis. Pourra t-elle cacher son jeu aussi longtemps qu'elle le désire? J'ai donc aimé la relation particulière qui va se tisser entre nos deux protagonistes et on espère que tout ira bien dans le meilleur des mondes . La tension narrative va monter progressivement et on va se demander qui du sénateur Carter Preston ( Je peux vous assurer que vous allez détester ce sale type mais je ne vous en dis pas plus) ou de Roxanne pourrait faire tomber le château de cartes que nos deux héros vont tenter de construire à deux.



Ryker Lockhart est un homme de 35 ans qui semble toujours obtenir ce qu'il désire en un claquement de doigts. Avocat spécialisé dans les divorces, il se met indubitablement du côté des hommes pour assurer leur défense. Vous imaginez donc bien qu'il maîtrise à la perfection ses paroles et on va parfois mettre en doute ce qu'il nous dit. Nous avons quelques chapitres écrits de son point de vue ce qui va évidemment nous permettre de nous faire un avis plus précis sur ce qu'il cache. C'est un homme difficile à cerner car nous ne savons pas si nous pouvons lui faire confiance ou non. Il est entêté , sûr de lui et de son charme et il va donc nous offrir des sacrées scènes d'affrontement avec notre héroïne. Il évolue dans une sphère très privilégiée où l'argent ouvre toutes les portes. Il va petit à petit découvrir les secrets de Vaughn et on verra son autre facette. J'ai adoré le clin d'oeil à LA série emblématique qui nous a fait connaître K Bromberg et à son personnage tout aussi emblématique.



Bref, je me suis régalée avec ce premier tome qui pose non seulement les bases d'une intrigue intéressante et palpitante mais qui nous donne envie d'en savoir plus sur nos deux héros. Le ton est donné, les conflits sont lancés et on espère donc que tout cela ne va pas leur exploser aux visages. Si vous lisez en VO, n'hésitez pas à découvrir le premier tome de cette duologie plus que prometteuse.

I have been waiting to read this book since K. Bromberg announced it and I was completely hooked from the very beginning. I devoured this book in one sitting. It is the first book in the Wicked Ways duet and it was wicked in the best possible way from the very first word.
Ryker and Vaughn are both independent people, but their both drawn to each other. Their chemistry is undeniable and kindle melting.
Vaughn is strong woman. She is hard working and extremely focused on her business, so when Ryker shows interest, she doesn’t want it. She doesn’t need the distraction in her life and to her plans. Ryker is a successful businessman. He doesn’t have time for dating, just needs companionship from time to time. That is until Vaughn enters his life and he can’t seem to stay away and wants to know all her secrets.
UGH This book is EVERYTHING! The story, the chemistry, the characters. Everything about it is perfect. K. Bromberg has created two amazing characters in Ryker and Vaughn, but also amazing secondary characters that will completely still your heart.
HOLY CLIFFHANGER!!!! I wanted to through my kindle across the room when I got to the end. I can’t wait to start book two and see where Ryker and Vaughn’s story goes. This is a MUST READ to anyone and everyone!

Holy cliffhanger! Am I invested enough to definitely read book two? Yes. Did I love book one? No. I know I'm in the minority, but I didn't love either Vaughn or Ryker. Vaughn was emotionally immature, and I,found a lot of her reactions to be childish. I also,had a hard time suspending my disbelief with the set up, and that she was capable of starting and operating a business, especially her chosen one. Despite that I do want to,see what happens next

Vaughn's life is very complicated. She is living a double life in order to pay down the medical debts leftover from her sister's rehab. On top of that, after her sister's suicide, her niece Lucy needs her. At eight years of age and with down syndrome, she is a delight full of life, but in need of special schools and care. Her drug addict father is a loser, so V must take responsibility for her. One problem. Social Services is not convinced she can provide for Lucy because of the amount of debt she has. Little do they know V is paying down the debt by running an escort service, Wicked Ways, in addition to her regular job as a waitress.

Ryker never expected the complication that would arise as he contracted with Wicked Ways for an assigned escort to be at his beck and call. As things happen, instead of getting an assigned escort from the pool of girls working for V, she must step in and handle one date with him in order to honor the contract. What happens after is just Life throwing a monkey-wrench into the whole deal.
Both Ryker and V must find their way as they both RESIST the attraction, complications, obstacles they are presented with.
