I wish I’d have known I didn’t like this author’s style of books before I requested it. Many of her books and plots seem to be similar and not my cup of tea.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It’s really good. I need my very own Aaron. There was a lot of laughing out loud. I was having a little bit of mix feelings, with the whole situation of why Kelsey took so long to tell Aaron. Overall it has a very Beautiful ending!!

This book was so long-winded, it got me out of breath. This is the first book I've ever read where there was so much unneeded dialogue. So many times I had to skip over a bunch of random conversations just to get to the point!

I'm not against random conversations that have nothing to do with the main story but for some reason, this author went above and beyond to add those in. Every time Kelsey and her best friend have a conversation, it left me exhausted. It made me dread it every time.

Another thing that irked me was the constant bad-mouthing of strippers as if their not people doing their jobs. It left a bad taste in my mouth and made me dislike Kelsey and her cousin for degrading someone because of their job.

The one and only thing I liked about this book were that when the secret baby was revealed, all the problems they were facing didn't magically disappear and they instantly became a couple. I thought finally a baby doesn't magically fix things, but then they ruined it at the end of the book but whatever, sigh.

All in all, these characters were exhausting and I barely like any of them.

Usually the pregnancy trope is one of my absolute favorite but in this book? Man. At times I didn’t know who I felt sorrier for.. both characters were inundated with miscommunications, fears and assumptions galore. While at times this all seemed like a plainly exasperating plot, the whole moral behind the story of how assuming things without getting your facts straight will not end well.. well, it was a pretty good one.

Did the characters follow it all that well? Well, not too much but all in all it was a quick read & this accidental pregnancy book wherein our male lead gets confused with a stripper only to end up sort of knowing his one night stand was soap opera worthy entertaining.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

This was a pretty decent surprise baby book. A one night stand leads to a surprise baby and a couple who aren't sure what they want or whether a relationship between them will work.

Funny, sweet and super heartfelt. I enjoyed this book and thought the story was a great light, fun read. I’ve read a few with similar storylines lately and I enjoyed getting a different point of view on the same story from different authors. The pace was maybe a tad slower than I would have loved but I think this is a book that a lot of you will enjoy!

As a young teenager, I loved novels with pregnant characters, especially teenagers. I was automatically drawn to this book because of the surprise, unplanned pregnancy aspect and because I was craving a more light-hearted, contemporary novel.

I enjoyed reading The Secret Baby, it was like reading a romcom! Kelsey and Aaron have a one-night stand at a hen night organised for Kelsey’s best friend. Fast forward a short while and Kelsey is pregnant, Aaron is the best man and best friend of the groom and to top everything off, he now lives with Kelsey and doesn’t know about the pregnancy just yet.

I do feel the comedy aspects of this book were a little forced at times and there were aspects of both Kelsey and Aaron that I disliked. With Kelsey, she is hung up on her ex-boyfriend and holds quite a grudge towards men because he broke her heart, and this annoyed me. However, this may be because my personality would be completely different in Kelsey’s ex-boyfriend situation. Aarons ‘ladies’ man’ persona also irritated me slightly because those types of people annoy me in real life. I also feel this type of character is overwritten in fiction so this time I was hoping for something different.

Another aspect I was disappointed in was the minimal plot involvement for the reader. We are told Kelsey and Aaron have gotten to know each other quite well but we don’t get to experience this for ourselves and I just expected more. These little moments would have allowed the reader to connect with the characters more and it was a missed opportunity in my opinion.

The more I read of this book, the more my enjoyment grew and the more invested I became. I could really begin to feel the connection between Kelsey and Aaron grow stronger and I was fully invested in their story. I would even read more about Kelsey and Aaron and their family if it was written. Despite the few issues I had, I still enjoyed this book and do not regret reading. It reminded me of one of my favourite romcom films!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book to read and give my own, honest opinion.

The Secret baby trope is a favorite of mine but unfortunately, this one didn't work for me. Lots of back and forth and I just had a hard time connecting with them.

I really don’t know how to feel about The (Secret) Baby.

On one hand, it was a short and quick read, so it didn’t take up too much time. On the other hand, it was a cluster— of crazy.

There’s a one night stand. Where they give no names and nothing personal. A pregnancy from said one night stand. Then they find each other once they realize they have mutual friends.

After that, then comes the crazy. Miscommunications, mainly. Kelsey never tells Aaron about the baby even though she had plenty of chances to. Quite a bit of drama between those two.

In the end it was still a cute read. Everything was cliché, but still cute.

Leddy Harper is a rock star in the romance world. I have read several books now by this author which I’ve absolutely loved but sadly I just didn’t enjoy this one nearly as much. That doesn't mean that it was an awful book, it just wasn't the right romance for me. My friend read The (Secret) Baby and absolutely loved it.

It's difficult to explain but there were aspects of this story and it's characters that I struggled to connect with and over time I found myself waging a losing battle to maintain interest with the story as a whole.

Moving forward, I will definitely check out other books from Leddy and I would definitely recommend checking her books out. She is a fabulous writer.

Not knowing what to expect, I actually really enjoyed this story. The chemistry between Kelsey and Aaron l, the banter between her and her friends and family, the funny moments, the awkward moments. I enjoyed all of it. Harper’s writing style was engaging, and had me gripped from the first few pages. Will happily read more by the author.

This book left me confused needless to say. The plot was ok. The story line has great potential. But the actual story left me wanting more. Which baby was actually the secret? The story starts by speaking of a married man and the girl (his girlfriend) he slept with that didn’t know he was married. Then of a couple who’s getting married but don’t want anyone to know they are pregnant. Then a baby from a one night stand. It’s to many stories going on at once. And not really focusing in on one main character.

This was a good book. I enjoyed the storyline and while both characters frustrated me at times, I liked them as well.

This is a really fun, sexy, and sweet romance. Whilst it is definitely a lighthearted plot, there are some quite clever twists in issues of timing and trust too.

Kelsey is a successful businesswoman, but clearly has been damaged by love in the past, and so claims that is it – no more. However, Adam clearly fills a space in her life and, as it happens her future, given she is pregnant. But accepting that fact and doing something about it cause her to panic, repeatedly. By showing her at work and successful at being strong and direct, we get a sense of how out of kilter she is when Adam is around – and after all, due to circumstances, he is around a lot!

Adam may have a fancy education and job, but when faced with Kelsey, he rather loses his polish and certainty. He is keen to settle down and start life with a partner, but he knows Kelsey's thoughts on that... and so ensues a run of misunderstandings.

I found this book to be a very enjoyable escape from my every day and will be looking out for more of Leddy Harper's books.

This book is not what I was expecting. Everyone has read the one-night stand and the "oops" baby. But here you have a play on it.

Kelsey thinks of herself as the black sheep of her family, never doing anything correctly in her mom's eyes. So, when she finds herself pregnant right before her bestie's wedding, she’s dumbfounded. Her one-night stand with the stripper from said bestie's bachelorette party has just impacted her life in ways she couldn't dream of. And when the stripper is actually the groom's best man, she's really screwed because she already promised to let the best man live with her while he is looking for a house.

Dr. Aaron Baucus is not one for one-night stands or being a stripper but as a favor, he pretends to be a stripper and meets this gorgeous woman who he spends the night with. He knows that he will probably never see her again, but the memories of her haunt him. Then he sees her at the wedding and it's all he can do not to grab her and haul her away to his hotel room.

Aaron is not the player everyone believes him to be. He's friends with a lot of women, but he hasn't been lovers with most of them. He's been friend-zoned because he's such a nice guy.

Kelsey has a hard time finding the words to tell to Aaron about the baby and that is the sticking point through the entire story.

Really enjoyed this sweet story.
For their own different reasons, Aaron and Kelsey decide to have an anonymous one night stand without sharing names… but it turns out they will cross paths again. After that, they start knowing each other (without the secret being out) and things develop from there.
What I liked the most about the story was the journey for these two characters and the friendship dynamics with others. A few things said and done (specially by Aaron) also had a positively impact on me.
In addition, the story also shows appearances can be deceiving. Aaron struggles with the people in his life that judges without having all the information. While me, as a reader, had a slightly negative very first impression of the characters (mostly linked to what they said and thought about themselves). Later I started understanding them more and more and connecting with their thoughts, fears, happiness and frustrations.
Overall, I really enjoyed this journey and would definitely recommend.
