I enjoy surprise baby stories. This one has a very unlikely beginning. If you can buy that, after a one-night stand, the heroine, Kelsey, ends up rooming with her baby daddy, then you’ll enjoy the se-up for this story. Aaron is just the nicest guy. I really liked him. Kelsey was irritating with her dithering over telling Aaron that she’s having his baby. I found her frustrating. She lucks into a relationship with a guy who is kind, thoughtful, caring, as well as being a sexy hunk who gave her the best sex of her life. It was tiresome waiting for her to get over herself.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

Wow.
This is the first book I’ve read by Harper, and will not be my last. Her style, the way she shows the reader the emotions of her characters, and how easily the story flows...it’s everything one could want in a book!

In this story, Kelsey and Aaron are a “just by chance” hook up, never to speak again...until we realize fate has other plans for them.

What happens next hits the entire spectrum of feels. ALL the feels!!

Having a best friend like Tatum is Kelsey’s saving grace, and the little moments of tenderness mixed with witty sarcasm and banter kept me turning pages and fully engaged from start to finish.

Aaron...what can I say about the nice guy? Do they really finish last or do they just have to get in where they fit in? All assumptions aside, I really liked him. And for the record, I married a nice guy...and won the husband lotto.

I look forward to more from Harper, the complexity of her stories are rich in feelings and real-life love and lessons.

Don’t miss the (Secret)—pick this book up!

As maid of honor Kelsey Peterson was expected to plan the party of all parties for her friend, so she went to great lengths to give her the bachelor party of her dreams, only be disappointed when the bride bailed at the last minute. So rather than waste all the good food, drinks, and the stripper Kelsey decides to have the party anyhow. Not realizing this one little decision, could have bigger consequences a few weeks later!

Charming characters, sweet light-hearted romance, and laugh out loud humor made The Secret Baby a thoroughly enjoyable read! This was my first time reading a book by this author, and I have to say it impressed on all fronts, I will definitely be back for more! There wasn't much that I didn't love about this one, the plot was plausible and engaging, the characters came with a tangible feel, and the words were rich with feeling. Highly recommend this one, it's a sweet romantic comedy that'll have you smiling throughout!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion

This book blended comedy and emotion really well, I really enjoyed Kelsey in The (Half) Truth so was excited to read her story. I love how it had a good amount of comedy whilst still having a serious and emotional storyline, I’ll freely admit I needed tissues a couple of times!

A very strange odd read. Nothing really special about it.
Very odd
Thank you to both NetGalley and Montlake Romance for my eARC book in exchange for my honest unbiased review

You know what they say about assumptions... and that is truly the heart of this book. I’ve seen Leddy Harper on the bestseller charts before, so when NetGalley offered me an ARC in exchange for an honest review, I jumped on the chance to try her new book. I love the cover - it looks like a light and fun read, and in a lot of ways it is. The banter is fantastic, our heroine is funny, and our hero is sweet and oh so loveable. But there is way more to the story than that - mixed in with all of that rom com goodness are shots of deep emotion and many poignant scenes. I had my own assumptions going into this, and our couple battle assumptions throughout the book.

The story follows Kelsey, a woman who had her heart ripped to shreds by an ex (and boy did he do a number on her). When she is confronted with memories from that relationship, she tries to use her best friend’s bachelorette party as an escape and winds up sleeping with the stripper. The only problem is, they agreed not to exchange names, and when she discovers that she is pregnant, she has no way of knowing who the father is. Turns out, the stripper wasn’t actually a stripper, he’s the groom’s best friend and just happened to be there by a humorous turn of events. What follows is her struggle to decide when she should tell him about the baby, because she soon realizes the father of her child is actually a great guy and someone she might like to have in her life even if she weren’t carrying his baby.

Let me just say, I absolutely loved Aaron. He’s sick and tired of people making assumptions about who is based on what he does for a living and where he lives. He’s ready to settle down but women don’t stick around long enough to see what an awesome guy he is, and that’s left some emotional scars. This couple’s journey to happily ever after is not an easy one, but their chemistry and banter was never in question. It’s a sexy book but there is no explicit sex - the focus is much more on the connection between the two characters, and I loved that. It’s a great book that invokes a variety of emotions out of the reader, and tells the story of two people who just had to dig a little deeper to see what they can have together.

I went into this book blind like I do most books as I feel like it adds to the experience. Even though I felt like the title almost gives the story away, there were definitely lots of surprise moments along the way, and I didnt quite know where the story was going to lead.

I did really like Aaron and for the most part I also liked Kelsey, however, I felt like both were overly stubborn and somewhat juvenile at times, and they made the issues in their relationship more drawn out and complicated than they really needed to be, which is why I rated this book 4 stars.

I found the story engaging and the dialogue and banter funny. I was engaged and invested in the story and at times did not want to put the book down. I felt like the back and forth was maybe a bit much at times and then steamrolled at warp speed into a HEA. I think the book could have flowed a little nicer with slightly less drama and some more even-ness and maybe a little lead up to the HEA and resolution at the end, but overall an enjoyable and engaging read.

Reading Leddy Harper’s books is like going on vacation: sunny, funny, smiley, joyful, real, easy, good. And wanting more!... More vacation and more her books.
I loved that the characters were just average people with their flaws and mistakes. The hero wasn’t a womanizer and it is a big plus! Because I am extremely annoyed with the heroes in the most books, the same cliched playboys from one book to another. The heroine was sassy and sarcastic. I savored the novel, enjoying light and colorful language.
Here is what we got in the book: prejudices, a lot of them, bunter, friendship, bad-timing, foot in the mouth as well as romantic gestures and the whole ocean of emotions.
This book is a stand-alone. However, the fans can meet here Tatum and Jason from The (Half)-Truth.
Thanks to the author and NetGalley for a review copy. All opinions are mine.

The Secret Baby follows one-night-stand and soon-to-be-future wedding buddies Kelsey Peterson and neuropsychologist Dr. Aaron Baucus (who’s name I found mildly amusing as it represents the God of Wine and Aaron is a fake player who fake parties on the regular). After pretending to be a costumed doctor-stripper to meet desperate bridesmaid singles, Aaron does the dirty with maid-of-honor (and man-hating) Kelsey and he unknowingly leaves her a parting gift from their brief time spent together. After this unwritten sex scene takes place, Kelsey and Aaron don’t even have a scene together for about 40% of the book! This made for a slow and passionless read. Also, do not discount the fact that this read as a continuation of a previous book, which was mentioned nowhere in the synopsis, nor the table of contents. Reading through the chapters felt as though prior information was left out and the reader is coming into an already developed story from another book.
For a man who is an alleged psychologist, Aaron comes off as deeply insecure and overly desperate for any woman, it doesn’t matter to him, so long as she’s willing. Aaron supplants his feelings of love to any willing woman, and only adds to his grossness. Most disappointing of all is that Aaron's character has little to no growth-- a known fact about books and life is that not every person is likable, however people can be admired and redeemed for growing-- which Aaron does not do. Who wants to read about a desperate, insecure ‘hero’ (using that term loosely here) who lies about his entire existence and does not practice what he preaches in the form of his therapy?! It seems as though Aaron could use some time in therapy to deal with his own issues before he deserves his own book and happily-ever-after.

I received an ARC from NetGalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

So before I started this book, I had to re read the first book( yes I’m that person) and if I thought I loved the first book, this second one takes the cake.

The story between Kelsey and Aaron was amazing from the first page. The banter between both of them just kept you turning pages. The story just hits you in the feels. You root for Kelsey and Aaron to be together ... I won’t let out any spoilers .

This book is the perfect for a summer read .... you should do yourself a favor and pick up not just this book but the half truth too

Thank you Leddy Harper and netgalley for my advanced copy!

The Secret Baby is a book about a one night stand assumed to be anonymous and just a night of fun. Kelsey is a girl with a past filled with a failed relationship that has caused her to give up on love and happily ever after.
Dr. Aaron Baucas is a really nice guy and a PHD doctor not an MD. This has caused him to hide who is to avoid expectations and disappointment when he turns out to not be an MD.
Aaron’s friend calls him over to the bar for him help out with a Bachelorette party, to fill in for the no show stripper supposed to be dressed as a doctor. For one night Aaron is willing to pretend with Kelsey.
After an amazing night together, the agreement to not share names and true identities is not such a great idea for Kelsey as you realizes she is pregnant. If things could not get any worse, the night of the rehearsal dinner Kelsey finds out that Aaron is the best man.
Will Kelsey tell Aaron about the pregnancy? Will Aaron and Kelsey be willing to give their relationship a real chance? How will their families take the news of their baby on the way?
This is a light hearted funny story of love, family expectations, and just how one bad relationship has the potential to steal our long term happiness if we hold on to the pain and resentment. I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Harper's book is a fast-paced romp through the ups and downs of friendship, dating, bachelorette parties, family relationships and love. Aaron and Kelsey are well drawn characters that will make you cry for more when their story comes to an end. #The(Secret)Baby #NetGalley

Not a bad story. I'm not sure I understood the whole pretending thing, but it worked for Aaron and Kelsey. Their push and pull got a little old after a while.

This book was not what I expected. I thought I had it all figured out from the blurb and was expecting it to live up to that. However, this was not the case. Many elements of the book were very good such as the friendship between Tatum and Kelsey. Other things were didn't live up to the characterizations that the author wrote about such as Kelsey being antilove. However certain aspects of the story WERE fantastic such as certain apologies and an epilogue.

This book was a reminder to not judge a book by its cover because this was not a steamy read. The steam was, in fact, fade to black which I would have been okay with considering the story itself was solid but it was the hints alluding to how wild and crazy it had been that made me crave those details. I would have been happy with a flashback or two if that was the case or just leave out the implications.

Still a solid book.

I voluntarily received a copy of this publication from ?NetGalley for an honest review!

This was a hilarious read! I laughed off and on the whole way through the book. This girl has sass and spunk all the time. I wish we were best friend....although I think we’d get into some serious trouble. I love how this book flows, and the character have such strong back stories.

If you ever want to get a hold of an ex it’s this girls. I promise you’ll want him in a choke hold. The secrets and things I could go without! The drama is really uncalled for it they would just talk to one another, it it all turns out great 8n the end.

This spoiled princess of a mommas girl thinks her sister is the favorite and it does sound that way from time to time, but in the end you’ll see the bigger picture. Please write more books like this.

Kelsey is a successful businesswoman who owns a business that stages properties for sale. Unfortunately, her love life is less successful. A prior relationship with a married man has turned her off of men.

Aaron is a successful neuropsychologist with his own private practice, yet he doesn’t seem to have any luck with women. They either focus on the fact that he is a doctor or are disappointed that he isn’t a medical doctor.

Kelsey and Aaron meet at a bachelorette party. The male stripper fails to show up, and Aaron has been set up to fill in. He and Kelsey have what they believe to be a one-night stand. That is when the craziness truly begins. It turns out that Aaron is the best man in the wedding between Kelsey’s cousin and her best friend. Then Kelsey finds out that she is pregnant with Aaron’s baby. A series of adventures highlighted by witty dialogue will keep readers highly entertained as Aaron and Kelsey attempt to find their happily ever after.

When the pieces start coming together as a reader and you know what is going to happen you just sit back and watch the fireworks! Kelsey and Aaron had a one night stand, without names which left Kelsey pregnant. She didn’t know who he was and then she realised he was closer than she thought. What followed was humour,, miscommunication, angst and a satisfying HEA.

Thank you to NetGalley for the copy.

This is a fun romance with some lol moments. It features a families and friends and was very heart warming. Kelsey and Aaron meet at a bachelorette party where she has sex with him and believes he is a stripper. She ends up pregnant and believes it is by the stripper but she doesn't even know his name and when she calls the company they say they never sent a stripper so she has no clue who got her pregnant....

What she doesn't know is that the baby daddy is Aaron who ended up as a stripper to help a friend who was hosting the party and that he is connected to her cousin. I am not spoiling anything else because this was such a fun story and you have to experience it to really see how great it is.

It is well written and fun and will make you laugh. Kelsey is afraid of relationships but Aaron is the one who wants a family in this story so it was very reverse roles type of story.
