I loved this book! To me Adriana knocked it out of the park again. Tangle is about Haley, Danes cousin from book 1, and Trevor. Haley is an all in kinda girl, wants the white picket fence and 2.5 kids and Prince Charming to go along with it, but she’s given her heart to loser and has gotten stomped on so now she is on a man/dating hiatus. Trevor is in town to check on things at the construction site where his dad is moving to. Trevor also does not believe in love. When sparks and banter fly with these two at first meeting, Haley and Trevor try to keep their distance but they just can’t. Can Haley keep her heart to herself? Can Trevor believe in forever love? Read on and find out!

Tangle is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series by the ever so talented, Adriana Locke. It can be read as standalone but I do recommend reading Tumble since it was amazing. And if you did, then you have met Haley, Dane’s cousin, nanny and romantic.

Haley loves love and that is exactly why she agreed to her cousin’s ridiculous bet. No dating for six months. She has been going strong for close to two months. That was until he walked in and stole her donut. Trevor Kelly aka Thief. Trevor didn’t believe in love. He didn’t want anything to do with it. He didn’t understand how someone would want to be with just one person for the rest of their life. They knew how the other felt after just a few run-ins. They knew they should stay away from each other but what is the fun in that, right?

Totally! And it is so much fun! Haley and Trevor make a deal. A deal guaranteed to work if they follow all the rules. Trevor is only in town for one week working on his father’s new home in Dogwood Lane. And in that week he only has a few plans. To finish up with the home. To now assist his new friend in writing a resume. And lastly, to not make Haley Raynor fall in love with him. It should be easy enough. It’s only one week and he doesn’t want her to fall. He doesn’t want her heart and he definitely doesn’t want to break it. So he will obey her rules. That is until they cross the line...

Omfg! I loved this book! Hard. It might even be my favorite Adriana book and that says a lot. I have read all of them. I loved their banter. It was flirty, dirty, sweet, and so much fucking fun. I fell for Trevor on first sight. He got her. There was an instant attraction between them and it was the best. They didn’t know each other but they seemed like they did. They just clicked. Both smart asses who were trying to figure out what was next up in their lives.

Overall...it’s my favorite Adriana book. It’s hilarious, sexy, and fun. It had it all. I fell hard for the characters. The story. Their personal journeys. The torture they felt and the emotions. I can not wait for Penn’s book!

P.S. I thought it was awesome to see my name and also my brother’s in the book. That was a first to have us both. Lol

Quotes:

“Are you finished?” he asks.
I zip a line from his boots to his face. “What do you mean?”
“I don’t want to walk out of here until you’ve finished appreciating me.” He grins. “If you’re done, I do need to go.”

“It must suck to be so jaded about love.”
“Or maybe it sucks to be so naive about it?”

“I knocked,” he says immediately.
“Good boy, Penn,” Neely says, patting him on the head. “Do you want a cookie?”
“Yes, please.”

Tangle by Adriana Locke is book Two in the Dogwood Lane Series. This is the story of Trevor Kelly and Haley Raynor. I have read the previous book, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so.
Haley is a romantic loving the ideal of love where Trevor is the quick in quick out type of guy. But he is in town for a week and goes forward to have encounters with Haley. Can these two opposite end up with a happy ending?
I was a big fan of the last book but this one took me to another level of enjoyment. I hope to read more from this series and this author.

I have to say this was only an ok read for me. I actually loved book 1 Tumble more (standalones). Tangle didn't have that emotional punch that I got from Tumble.

I didn't think it was possible to head back to Dogwood Lane and love it more, but OH MY GOD I love it more! It's like this town is a crazy ice cream sundae and all these fantastic characters blend together to create a perfect dessert.

And Trevor Kelly is the cherry on top of this sundae. I fell for him from the start. It's impossible not to. He's charismatic, charming, intriguing, and insanely sexy. And he's all of these things without even trying to be. Sure, he's not perfect and you'll want to shake him a time or two. But it's nothing he can't redeem himself from.

Haley is kind of a mess but kind of getting her life together. She loves to say she's "living her best life" and her positivity is inspiring. That doesn't mean that's she's chipper and optimistic all the time. Yes, she's funny and sweet and has so much love to give, but she can be bratty, stubborn, and sassy too. She just has a realness to her that is relatable. She could be you or one of your best friends.

I love small town romances and this series is fantastic. It checks all the boxes and hits you in all the feels. It'll make you laugh and fall in love with not only Trevor and Haley, but the whole gang too. I hope this isn't the last we hear from the residents of Dogwood Lane.

Loved, loved, loved!! Laugh out loud funny and a completely entertaining read. This author is quickly becoming one of my go to authors. Her writing gives us well developed characters and stories that tug at your heart while tickling your funny bone. Haley with her quick wit and sass had me in stitches while Trevor had me swooning. Their chemistry is off the charts and you can't help but cheer for them. Honestly there isn't a thing I didn't enjoy about this book. Put this on the must read list, I highly recommend it.

Tangle is the second book in the Dogwood Lane series by the fun, fabulous and talented Adriana Locke. I'm a huge fan of Adriana's and I have read all her words. In my opinion, her writing it just getting better and better and I'm so glad I'm along for the ride! We have met Haley and we love her. She loves love, flowers and all things romantic. Now we get to meet Trevor. Dear Lord is the man sexy, hot and surprisingly funny. He's only in town for one week working on his father's house. He knows he should stay away from Haley but he just can't bring himself to stop wanting her. They keep running into each other and he finally thinks of the perfect compromise. He wants to help her with her resume and finding a job and he wants her company at all his dinners. Easy, right? Haley knows it's a bad idea. Trevor is just the kind of guy she usually falls for and it never ends well. She knows herself. She gets clingy and weird and can't stop texting and chasing after men. She is trying to be different. She doesn’t want to be that woman anymore. So they sign a contract and it's all going to be fine. Until he gets a little too close and she wants him even closer. He doesn't believe in love or happily ever afters. But she can change his mind, right. Trevor knows he likes her. A lot. But he doesn't do love or long term relationships. Haley deserves more. After they cross the line she wants more and he doesn’t. What's going to happen when it's time for him to leave town? I loved this story. It's one of my favorite books of Adriana's! Haley knows more about herself than she ever has. She's learned, grown and isn't going to let anything ruin it. She cares for people and loves love. That's just who she is. Trevor isn't sure he knows what love is. Until he meets Haley. Now he's really confused. I loved watching them fall for each other and learn abut themselves. Overall, it's fun, flirty, romantic, sexy and emotional!

Tangle was just as the title suggests...a tangle of emotions. Haley and Trevor are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to relationships. She has always been a girl who is in love with the idea of being "in love." Trevor, on the other hand, is all in for the benefits of a relationship but not necessarily the relationship itself...at least not for the long term. One thing that they both have in common is a shared attraction for one another. They just have to find common ground. Haley asks Trevor to not pursue her and they spend time as friends for the majority of the book. However, events happen which put them in a situation where their affections are more difficult to ignore.

I really enjoyed Tangle. It wasn't that the plot was super original but it didn't need to be because it was well done. The characters were written in a way that you really cared about them. The other plus was I enjoyed the connections with the secondary characters as well. I'm looking forward to more in this series.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake Romance for this ARC.

Trevor is the guy who you want to see fall in love. And not because he's super sweet or swoony or a total jerk or whatever. You want to see him fall in love because he doesn't believe in love.

Haley is the girl who deserves it all. The girl who loves fiercely and believes everyone gets a happily ever after.

So, what could go wrong?!

Tangle is a great addition to this Dogwood Lane series. I can't wait to continue!

Haley is fun, outgoing and has a huge heart. Even though she hasn’t had the best of luck when it comes to love or men, she knows that her happy ever after is out there but in the meantime, she ends up dating a lot of frogs. After her most recent entanglement she decides to take a vacation from men but that doesn’t mean she can’t look.

Trevor is her complete opposite. He intends to stay as far away from love and relationships as he can as he has witnessed the effects when it goes wrong and he wants no part of it. When he meets Haley he is very attracted to her and is looking forward to spending time with her as long as they both understand the ground rules. What could possibly go wrong?

Hot chemistry, humorous banter and oh so much fun! With all the intriguing secondary characters I hope we get to return to Dogwood Lane soon. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book

I absolutely adored this small town romance! It was funny and quirky and so sweet! I have just started reading Locke in the last few months and I am finding I cannot get enough of her words. They flow amazingly and this one does just that. Was a feel good story that I could not put down!

I love a great meet cute and this one was so awkward and fun, setting the stage for the rest of this sweet, steamy and delightful romance. Haley is at a crossroads trying to find her place in the world. When a charming, sexy, Trevor visits Dogwood Lane, he turns her world upside down. Haley is in love with love and Trevor doesn't believe in it. These two are total opposites but they have fun and their chemistry is explosive. Trevor has met his match in Haley with her quick wit, smart mouth, and sweet nature. He is only in town for a short time and can't commit to what she wants, but finds himself breaking all his rules. I loved Haley so much with her positive attitude, spunk, and strength. She was determined to not make the same mistakes over again. I loved how they challenged each other and their banter was hilarious. It was also fun catching up with Neely, Dane, and Penn, who were so protective of Haley, and played a large part in this story. This sweet and emotional story is filled with close friends and family who are fun, quirky, and totally supportive. But it is the engaging, heartfelt and swoony romance that captured my heart and wouldn't let go. I love this series set in the kind of place that draws you in and makes you feel right at home, and I can't wait for more from Dogwood Lane!

I am in love. Trevor and Haley are complete perfection. I was addicted from the very first scene. Any girl with that passion for doughnuts is a girl I can cheer on, haha. But seriously, there was action, banter, and chemistry right from the very beginning, and I couldn’t put it down.

Haley is sassy, fun, and hilarious. I love her love of love. She knows what she wants, she just isn’t quite sure how to get it. And Trevor knows what he isn’t looking for, but he isn’t sure how to keep Haley in that box. Watching their friendship develop and shift was delightful. Their push and pull had me hooked, and their banter had me laughing and smiling like a loon the whole way through.

Not only did I love Trevor and Haley, I fell in love with all of Dogwood Lane. I missed Tumble when it came out, but I’m now dying to go back and read it while I anxiously wait for more. All of these characters are begging for stories and I want to read each and every one!

If you like contemporary romance novels with endearing characters set in a small town, you can't go wrong with this author's books! She always nails it. This is the second standalone in the Dogwood Lane series and dare I say I liked it even more than Book #1. Trevor and Hayley will make your heart sing, make you laugh out loud (no room for Jesus) and grab the box of tissues a time or two. I loved revisiting the secondary characters from the first book and can't wait to read Penn's story which I'm hoping is next. I've read every book that this author has published and she never disappoints -- loved it and would highly recommend it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

.5 Stars
Tangle is a solid second entry in the Dogwood Lane series. We follow Haley (a secondary character from the first book) as she works to care for herself and not “need” a man and promptly has an instant attraction to Trevor who is temporarily in town to oversee a project.

I liked Haley and Trevor and their connection was fun and entertaining. I appreciated the sense from Haley that she knew herself and understood that Trevor was the type of person who could hurt her if she allowed him too.

Even though I liked Trevor and found his personality intriguing, I was also a little annoyed by him. The conflict between Haley and Trevor felt a bit manufactured and built up a bit more than necessary. For every fun/sweet/positive interaction there was an immediate offset and it took some of the “bloom” off of their romance for me.

As book 2 in a series, there is also a decent sized secondary cast. Some of these interactions and relationships were set up in book 1, but someone getting started here won’t be lost.

Overall, I enjoyed Tangled and am curious about what may be coming next for Dogwood Lane.

Adriana Locke is the queen of "feel good" romance! Tangle is everything and MORE that I hope for when diving into one of her stories.

- Laugh out loud moments.
- The most delicious alpha hero.
- A heroine that you love and wish could be your friend in real life.
- Sizzlin chemistry with the perfect mixture of sweet!

I couldn't wait to return to Dogwood Lane in Tangle. I love a good small town romance with relatable characters that you never want to leave and that is the definition of Dogwood Lane! Trevor and Haley are perfection!! In this story, opposites attract and the power of love is shown so beautifully! My heart is so full and I am dying to get my hands on the next book in this series!

From the first moment Trevor walked into Dogwood Lane till that very last page I was hooked. I loved Haley and Trevor’s banter and their chemistry was off the charts. This was a sweet and sexy small town story to fall in love with.

This is the second in the dogwood Lane series. I enjoyed this book more than the first.

I really like Haley. She’s just a great person. She’s learning to put herself first. And to love herself. And that it’s okay to be alone.

Trevor is a great guy. He’s always upfront about not wanting commitment.

Both characters learn a lot about themselves during this book.

This is a great read and I can’t wait for Penn’s book. I think it will be a fun read.

I just love Adriana's small town romances and the Dogwood Lane series is definitely one of my favourites.

Haley meets Trevor when they are both fighting over a doughnut at the coffee shop and there are instant sparks between them. They meet up again where Trevor's Dad is having a new house built in Dogwood Lane, and Haley's cousin is doing the carpentry work. There is more banter between them, and Trevor learns that Haley is on a dating freeze due to a recent break-up. Even though Trevor does not have a stellar dating history himself he just can't stop himself from being intrigued by her.

It's a small town so they can't help but continue to run into each other. While Trevor is in town for a few days supervising the construction at the house, they make a deal to be friends and enjoy dinners together and nothing more. After all they are both totally unsuited to each other - Trevor meets girls who get too clingy and he feels bad when he breaks up with them. Haley always gets too involved and clingy and cries when the guy breaks up with her.

Adriana tells a great story with a fun and sometimes hilarious cast of characters in a small town setting. The banter and flirting between Haley and Trevor is hilarious with a touch of sadness and there are times when you want to bang their heads together to make them see sense.

You can read Tangle as a standalone, but if you love small town romances I highly recommend reading Tumble too.

This small town romance series is just awesome. Haley is the girl who's always falling for the wrong guy, and trying to fix it. Trevor is the guy who just won't settle down. They don't make sense together, and GO HALEY for being so stubborn about what she deserves. I mean, it's great he's upfront about expectations too, but he totally pushes the envelope. A few tears were shed along the way, but this has a happy ending and I loved the whole thing. I can't wait to see who's next in the series.
