I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley but I have my own copy on pre-order. Harper, her brother and sister are partners in the bed and breakfast inn that their mother started. Harper is in charge of the animal rescue operation and the horses for the guests to ride. Harper finds Phoenix, a battered horse as one of her rescues. She has a feeling that Phoenix has racing in his blood and wants to try to train him to run in the Triple Crown but she doesn't have the experience. Aiden, is a horse trainer from Ireland and has checked into the bed and breakfast while on vacation. He's looking for a new horse to train to try to redeem his reputation from things that happened in Ireland. Aiden sees Phoenix and has a feeling that he's a natural racing horse. He talks Harper into hiring him to train Phoenix which she does even though they didn't hit it off at first. There's a line in the book that says "wounded souls recognize each other". That saying is true for the recuse animals that help each other as well as Harper and Aiden. Harper and Aiden have an attraction to each other but decide to keep it only business between them. Of course, their attraction wins out. I had the good fortune to read this book in-between the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont race. I thought it was a really informative book about animal rescues and horse training without going into a lot of unnecessary detail. Thank you, Jennifer Probst for such a wonderful book!

Another great read and another great installment in this series! Several laugh out loud moments - gotta love the goat! Great characters that you connect with and root for. Fun, light summer read. Definitely recommend this entire series.

Thank you #negalley and #montalkeromance for the eARC.

Harper runs a rescue farm for abused animals. She has a horse who was badly mistreated but can see a fire in him. She wants to start racing him and starts researching it. Aiden is staying at Harper’s families inn, and is a horse trainer from Ireland. He is in the states after he and his partner part ways and Aiden is looking for a new start. Both have trust issues but a horse and a few other animals bring them together. Harper knows Aiden is there temporarily and decides to give in to their attraction. As the Kentucky Derby gets closer so do Harper and Aiden. Will Aiden give up his wandering ways or leave the only woman he has ever loved?
Awesome story. I cracked up laughing. Two people who have had rough childhoods but overcome their pasts. Rescued animals. I could not put this book down.

This is Harper and Aidans book, Aidan is a horse trainer and has fled Ireland for a vacation in New York, Hudson valley. When he sees a horse with the fighting spirit, he’s inspired with a new goal, to train Phoenix to win! He’s also facing another challenge the farm owner where Phoenix stays is a hottie! Harper owns a rescue farm, she saves all kinds of animals but her main focus is healing her thoroughbred Phoenix. Her dream is to lead him to the Triple Crown, but how unreachable is it without experience or help? The handsome new guest at her families bed and breakfast May have what it takes to make this dream come true! With his irresistible Brogue, warm smile and soothing touch, is definitely A major distraction! This book definitely gave me all the feels! It’s a little different than what I normally read but I really really liked it! It was still really hot LOL but it was funny and heartwarming and even heartbreaking at some point! I absolutely loved all the animals in the story that was the true feeling of the book for me! The baby goat was just too much LOL he was my favorite with Phoenix in a close tie! thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me! I highly recommend reading this one I think it’s my favorite of the series yet!
