Lovely feel good story. It was well written and flowed well. Easy to read and hard to put down. Perfect on these summer nights

I tried to get through a few chapters but ultimately found myself not connecting with this story. It might just be a classic case of its me, not you, but I'm not feeling it today and decided to shelve it for how.

This was a quick, fun summer read but it took on a much more serious tone than I expected. There weren’t any “laugh out loud” moments for me so I wouldn’t call it a rom-com but overall it was enjoyable. I felt like the characters were well developed and each had their own unique voice which is important in reading multiple perspective. This book does a good job in exploring different friendship and relationship dynamics but still didn’t stand out as making any real statements on anything. I felt the conflicts were resolved too easily and there was never any real emotional attachment to the character story lines. Overall this book just made me want to take a trip to Vegas with my girl friends!

This was a great beach read and I needed the hilarity that was provided! Holly, Kim, and Emma head to Vegas for Emma’s wedding. Each woman has her own issues at the time and there is much personal growth by the ending. I loved the characters and look forward to the next book by Ms. Ziepe.
Many thanks to HQ Digital and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book.

Aside from the fact it was fun and well written, the issues covered and the story line itself cover many issues that are faced at the moment.

The angle it highlights about relationships, single parenting, types of abusive relationships, and the pressures of social media and hugely important, accurate and so current.

This is a wonderful modern romance .

Easy to read, gripping and insightful.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I requested The Morning after the Wedding Before from Netgalley because it seemed to be a nice feel-good story about 3 friends with one getting married. I was so disappointed with this story and the writing style. I thought each of the characters was bland and uninviting, I don’t think I connected with any of them, there was nothing unique or exciting about them. The storyline was predictable and wrapped up WAY too easy, there was no real climax and everything ended too nicely. Overall it wasn’t at all what I expected and I wanted there to be something more to draw me in!

I think my biggest problem with The Morning after the Wedding Before was the characters. They were quite frankly boring. Even the “influencer” Emma, nothing in their lives was a unique thought, the amount that they went on about their kids could have filled a book within itself. I wanted to love them as a trio but even their friendship seemed to be forced and empty, they didn’t bother meeting up in real life but were “super close”, their entire relationship didn’t sit right with me. I wanted there to be some real moments rather than the fabricated “I’m a good friend so I’ll go and do this” there was so much disconnect between them all.

There weren’t too many best bits in The Morning after the Wedding Before, like I said before. I think my favourite part would have to be when Kim finally lets loose a little bit and she really starts to enjoy herself, or Emma getting drunk the day before her wedding. Basically, whenever any of the characters get drunk they seemed to be less robotic and I connected with them a little more, so I suppose they would be my best bits.

The worst bits of The Morning after the Wedding Before? Probably having to listen to them all complain CONSTANTLY about their lives and repeat 80 times a minute how they’re going enjoy themselves before they go home. I would just like to say if any of my friends were in a relationship that’s presented in this book I wouldn’t be sugar coating anything and I wouldn’t be letting her walk away from the conversation. It actually annoyed me how lacklustre they were in looking out for one another. I just couldn’t believe they were actually friends. It was a bizarre relationship. I wanted them to help and support each other by being honest and true to each other, not avoid the issues.

I don’t think I would recommend The Morning after the Wedding Before, I think there are other better feel good books out there with better characters and less predictable storyline!

I found this book very easy to get into but did end up skipping some pages in the middle as not an awful lot hapoened.

Saying that it was an enjoyable read covering very good subjects with a few twist and turns.

I struggled to get into this book. Some of the characters’ behavior felt a little like watching a train wreck. They made terrible choices and were so awkward. Once I got about 80% through it, it really improved. Not sure I can recommend this one.

The writing style was really not for me, and there was a lot of telling, not showing. I was not happy at all with this novel. I put it down pretty quickly, so the plot and the characters might have been fine, so I'm giving it a solidarity rating of 2 stars.

I really struggled with this one.

The story follows three friends - Emma who is getting married to Charlie, Holly who has recently separated from her partner and father of her two children and Kim, a married mother of 2. They are in Las Vegas for Emma and Charlie's upcoming wedding.

Each chapter switches between the stories of the three ladies, with a bit of insight to what is happening in their relationships. I found it hard to like any of the characters, mostly because I found them all a bit bland. I did enjoy Kim and her husband Andy's story though. It also seemed very long winded and the switch from current time to a flashback took effort and wasn't as seamless as I'd like it to be.

Emma is a blogger/social media influencer and, as a blogger myself, it really wound me up how many times it said that she got "freebies" or "free stuff". That isn't free. You have to put time and effort into your posts. It's a collaboration between you and the brand. I disliked this so much that it almost made me stop reading.

A lot of it was cliché and I saw it coming. I was happy with the ending. I don't like giving negative reviews but this just wasn't one for me.

I ended up skimming this book, it just fell flat for me. I felt like it was trying just a bit too hard, parts were rushed and parts were incredibly slow, and there was a lot of repetition in the book too that got frustrating.
I didn't find the characters interesting, Holly and Kim felt like the same person sometimes, and the 'villainous' characters were a little copy and paste, predictable and seemed a bit forced.

I feel like there needs to be a Spice Girls reunion surrounding this book because GIRL POWER!!! I loved Emma’s character and found myself flying through to get to her POV. I liked that the book flipped between the three girls, but Emma was the lost relatable.

Women married with kids who have found themselves “lost” after the baby will really relate to Holly and Kim.

I rectangles advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

If you are like me and love a fun, cute romantic contemporary read then look no further! The Wedding After the Night Before by Laura Ziepe ticks so many boxes for a good summer read you won't be disappointed when you pick it up!

The book follows three friends, Holly, Kim and Emma. All three are friends from school/college and are all on a trip to Las Vegas where Emma is getting married to the love of her life. However, not all goes to planned for the three of them as they deal with everyday problems that befalls women.

Holly who has recently split from the father of her two children is excited to be away and with her friends enjoying herself, especially when her ex tells her that he is now with someone else.

Kim who is married with two children has changed since she's had children and worried that her husband is cheating agrees to the trip. But doubts are creeping in and the more she is away from her little family the more she wonders.

Emma has it all or so it's seems. She is an Instagram influencer and has come a long way from the person she was before, overweight and unhappy with herself. She is now a successful instagrammer who has half a million follows and posts daily about her life and promotes companies. She is set to marry the love of her life in Vegas but doubts start creeping in.

I absolutely ADORED this book! It was such a fun and quick read for me I read it in one sitting. I like how Laura Ziepe used today's influences like social media and how down to earth the characters are. There is a strong message throughout this book that is shining brightly and that is LOVE WHO YOU ARE! It doesn't matter what everyone else says it's what makes you happy at the end of the day that matters.

The characters were well written and I was able to imagine myself in their shoes. This made me enjoy the book more as I was able to feel the emotion coming through especially for Emma and Kim.

Don't get me wrong this book has its serious moments but throughout it is interspersed is humour a bit of romance and some men that you really want to slap in the face for being so arrogant.

As I have previously mentioned there is a strong message in this book. Emma who is the Instagram influencer projects on her account that everything is perfect but in reality it's not and this to me is paramount to the story. We are so influenced by social media these days we forget what is real and what is not.

I took away from this book a warm feeling, it was lighthearted but did at times touch on stronger topics. It also had a bit of humour AND some hunky men!

Overall a really enjoyable summer read.

If you have been following my reviews for some time now, you know I absolutely love Feel Good books who add a little extra. Books who go a little more into debt. And the-morning-after-the-wedding-before does exactly that. It covers some deeper issues in what is still a lovely feel good story that will leave you with a big smile on your face.
In this book we follow three woman. Kim and Holly, are both mothers and are leaving their children to travel to Vegas to see their former best friend Emma married. Once they were best friends, but marriage, children en divorce has put their bond under pressure. Let’s be honest, we all know how it goes when you become parents, life just takes over. But true friendship is always there, even when you spend a lot of time apart. And it turns out this it’s the same for Kim, Holly and Emma. When it truly matters they still have each other’s back and are there to support each other.
The setting of this story is Las Vegas, a very different setting from my normal feel good books. I tend to spend lots of time reading about cafes on the coast in the UK or about Greek Island. So I was pretty excited to explore Vegas with the leading ladies of the story. Vegas is of course glamorous and the fact that Emma is a social influencer on Instagram, gives the story even more glam. Pool parties, champagne,… you name it and it is there!
But like I mentioned before the story is about more than just getting drunk and gamble in casino’s. It is about verbal abuse and unhealthy relationships. About the other side of the medal when being a social influencer. It’s about being a mum without losing yourself and your relationship. It is about discovering who you are in the end and recognizing the person you have become.
I really enjoyed The morning after the wedding before. It is well written and fast paced. The characters really undertake a journey and as a reader you see them grow throughout the story. The story is told from multiple POV’s and I must admit that every character is intriguing. Sometimes I tend to prefer one or two POV’s, but here I liked all of them.

I am very excited to read more of Laura Ziepe in the near future!

The Morning After the Wedding Before by Laura Ziepe is a fun romantic comedy. Emma, Kim and Holly are good friends, who live in England. Emma is getting married in Las Vegas, NV US, and Kim and Holly are attending the wedding. Kim is a mother, with two children, who is worried about her marriage. Holly is a single mother of two children, who ex is now dating another women, and she is feeling lonely. I really enjoyed this book, and the three main characters. The women all show personal growth over the book. I highly recommend this book for a great summer escape.

I reviewed a digital arc provided by NetGalley and the publisher. Thank you.

This is a good chick lit book about three friends that went to Vegas for one of their weddings and it looks like the 3 friends have perfect lives but like the rest of us they are all dealing with issues too this book was good and I liked it so much
