Love, love, love Suzanne Wright and the amazing characters and worlds that she creates within her books. I have read and re-read this series over and over and still never tire of the characters.
Suzanne Wright never disappoints. Like yeah is it the same formula, sure but it just works and I enjoy it every time. I know what I came here for and I got it.
I have been wanting to read Dominic's book since the beginning & I was not disappointed.
It made for a nice change to see that a shifter did not choose their fated mate. Mila certainly got the bad end of the stick when it came to fated mates. I found Joel to be a weak & pathetic shifter & Adele was just plain pathetic.
The humor between Dominic & Mila was hilarious. It was fantastic to see Dominic grow & finally grow up. I LOVED Mila's twin brother Alex & their mother Valentina. Olympus Pride has become my new favorite shifter group. Pallas cats are INSANE! But I sooooo wish I was a Pallas cat shifter.
This was a great ending to the series & I cannot recommend it highly enough.
Dominic's story was well worth the wait. He is the resident shameless flirt who always brings a smile to my face in every scene he's in. So I was hoping his story was going to hold up. Well, it certainly did...and then some!
The best thing about Dominic's character is the flirting is all surface stuff. There's so much more to him, so many layers, that it was fascinating to dive deep into his character. And Mila was perfect for him. True mates are usually my go-to stories when it comes to shifters, however, Suzanne Wright has a way of making me feel that imprinted/chosen mates are just as connected and strong, never making me feel like anyone is ever second best. I loved that they both had issues they needed to work through, and CHOSE to do that together. No instalove here, which I appreciated. But what started as a fling ended up being so much more. Loved it!
Love Mila and Dominic! The playboy finally found a girl that can handle him! The chemistry between the two is not to be denied no matter that they aren't the same species of shifter. So much fun reading their romantic journey together.
1.5 - 2 stars
I really wish I could have given this book a higher rating but the amount of misogyny, girl hate, and tired formula made me unable to give it more that a 2 star. Like I said above this couple is completely interchangeable with any other couple in this series (and to be honest with any male/female mcs in any of the author's books) that it just become a bit boring to keep reading. Of course this author can write a really great sex scene but there was nothing really of substance other than sexual attraction. I wasn't able to point and say that yes this is what makes them a great couple, or at least explains their connection and attraction beyond sex and lust.
I read this book back in 2019 when it published.
Mila is a Pallas cat and we are here to love her even if she can rip out our throats in the blink of an eye. When she comes up against Dominic and his allure to women, she is no match, but then again, neither is Dominic. He is a player and loves the ladies (and cheesy pick up lines), but when he meets Mila, even he is thrown by his attraction and protectiveness of her. He will do everything in his power to protect her, but she doesn’t need it..she’s a badass in her own right.
Great story. We learned more about the pallas cats group, the Devereaux’s and all of the new characters coming to play. Dominic and his cheesy lines are still on point, but the mated men finally got their revenge.
Loved this last installment of the Phoenix pack, but will re-read until my heart is content,
Amazing story. This series just gets better and better.
This was a laugh out loud book for me and one that I repeatedly go back to reread.
Plenty of twist and turns. Great family dynamic with funny interactions.
The story has very good flow. It’s great to see how the pack is growing and developing
This author is a must read and a auto download for me.
Dominic finally meets his match!!!! This book was so entertaining to read. I read it from beginning to end in one sitting. Could not put it down!!!
I am now officially obsessed with Pallas cats. I adored Mila and was so happy that Dominic got his HEA. He was such a sweet character,. I don’t love this series but do thoroughly enjoy reading it.
What a fascinating book. I was impressed by the storyline and the characters were all well written and complex. Where there are complex storylines combined with intriguing characters the reader experience is magnified tremendously. To have a book that is well written as well as entertaining is a delight. Reading is about escaping your world and entering another one. The word building was phenomenal in this book. Here I forgot about my own life and was immersed in the world created by the author. I would recommend this book.
Another great read by a talented author I really enjoyed reading it and will definitely read more and recommend reading it Was worth waiting on
Cat shifter Mila Devereaux can’t help but see it as a betrayal. That her one true mate imprinted himself on another female was hard enough to accept. Struggling to be at peace with her loveless fate, she doesn’t fight the suggestion of entering an arranged mating. Then she meets Dominic, a pack enforcer with a notorious reputation. It’s in his very scent. This irresistible playboy—and delicious badass wolf—is making Mila’s fantasies come alive again. Alarming, compelling, and heady with sensual energy, Dominic is an expert at making women shed their inhibitions. Now everything about him—his killer smile, his perfectly sculpted body, and his smooth-as-honey voice—is drawing in a captivating new catch. But for the first time in his life, Dominic is feeling more than a fling. He finds himself tantalized by a female who makes him think of forever. He wants all of Mila and won’t be satisfied until he has it. As the passion grows wild, so does the risk. They’re falling in love in the shadows and secrets of their pasts. And it’s threatening to destroy everything Mila and Dominic are fighting for. And are destined for.
This book had me right from the beginning! I really loved Mila and felt bad for her situation. I absolutely adored Dominic as well. The side characters were just great. Especially Mila’s mother! I thought they were great together. This was one of those books I stayed up WAY too late to finish. I hadn’t ever read a shifter book where the “destined mate” trope can be ignored or missed, so I really liked that twist. I am now getting read to go back and read the rest of this series! I highly recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
This was another great romance from Suzanne Wright. I really enjoy her series and jump on the next books as soon as they are available. I'm so sad this is the last book in the Phoenix wolves series but I know she will have many other fun books to come.
Dominic has always been an instigator, teasing his friends girlfriends and being known for being afraid of commitment. Mila is a new character, a Pallas cat, like Madisyn from Echoes of Fire. I love the Pallas cat shifters - they are so funny and fierce.
I also like the spin on the "true mate" situation in this book - it is different from the others! The two are a great match and as usual the book is full of danger, excitement, and steam.
****I don't understand what happened to my review but it's missing on another platform as well. However, I'm going to rewrite this one and obviously, it's a LOT later than when I actually finished reading this book. ****
I absolutely LOVE Suzanne Wright's work! I own and have read all of her books and have all future ones on Pre-Order. 😁. This story is no less funny, exciting, intriguing, passionate and more, than any of her other books. To help you see what I'm talking about, here's my review........
Dominic is one of my top favorite characters in Suzanne books. His jokes, one liners, after crazy funny!! (How Suzanne thinks up so many is incredible and awesome! Example: there's a Titanic reference in here for one of Dominics one liner. (You'll have to read story to know it. 😉). My mom is a BIG fan of Titanic and a BIGGER fan if humor, So I'll be sharing Dominics/Suzannes Titanic one-liner. Mom will LOVE IT!). There's also a side to Dominic that we're not used to hearing about.
Mila is a Pallas cat. I freaking LOVE them!!! Put one of those little attitude filled fuzz balls with Comedy filled Dominic and a few things happen. Humor, attitude, push and pull, then .....uuuuhh....guess you'll need to read the story! Milas' True Mate, Joel, already started imprinting on another female and MIla had no intentions of letting him know who she really is to him and therefore, considers going off to another country and having an arranged mating herself. Mila is Russian so her family is already a rowdy crazy bunch of shifters. Now, on top of the fact that Mila is a Pallas cat, like her father and his side of the family, her Mother in her side of the family are actually Wolverines!! AWESOME SAUCE!!! So, you can imagine all the fun THIS gang gets into, causes and has. Add Dominic to this bunch and oh Lordy!!
Obviously, I highly recommend this book. You don't really need to read the other books in this series or the Mercury Pack series vto know what's going on. However, I do recommend it because it'll help you better understand Dominic a little more and the dynamics of the other shifters in both Packs. While you're at it, seriously, check out all her other series as well. The Dark In You series Has Demons and is one of my favorite series out there. Shutter of her series, The Deep In Your Veins it's another. Honestly, you can't go wrong with Suzannes stories. Her humor is top notch and the characters and stories are truly great reads. Probably why I've re-read all of them a couple times!!
I received a free, advance copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased and honest review. This is my TRUE thoughts and feelings in my review! ENJOY!
Wow. A great story excellently well-written. Though this is one of 8 in the series under the sub title The Phoenx Pack, you are still able to read the this story as a stand alone book.
This is Dominic and Mila Devereaux story. Mila' mate has bonded with another female leaving her to contemplate an a arranged marriage, that is until she meets Dominic. Love or lust the attraction is strong andi nstant. That is one of the many problems this couple have to face. All in all a great book would recommend the whole series as this the last book and it includes flashbacks of previous characters.
I loved this book been waiting have read all the books in the series and it did not disappoint me and Dominic’s choice for his mate was the best choice loved them together and I love cats so it worked for me and the in site to the new pack series was great can’t wait to read about them sad that this series is over but I have them all and will read them over and over
Suzzane Wright never disappoints. I was so excited to finally read Dom’s story and it was everything I hoped it would be. Mila was the perfect parter for him and I really enjoyed the story. It’s bittersweet to read the final Phoenix Pack book but hopefully we will see more of them in future series.
Oh wow I was super excited to meet the woman that would finally knock the resident flirt on his a*s and Suzanne did not disappoint me in fact she outdid herself!! Once I started this I didn't put it down until I had finished (who needs sleep?) and then I had to read it again as its THAT GOOD.
I loved the cheesy one-liners, the wit and banter from his pack mates to get revenge on him with the lines he still dishes out to their mates, it was poetic justice!! BUT, it was amazing to get to know more of the fun loving hunk, to see his sweetness and that there was so much more to him then that.
As always with Suzanne's books she brought her trademark wit, steam with the action and drama. I honestly think this became my favourite from the series and that says a lot as I love them all.
I'm sad to see the end to this series but excited as we will still get to see the Phoenix pack mates in the spin off Olympus Pride series which is coming.
This is my third time reading this book and I still love it! 5 stars for creativity, character development and worldbuilding, storyline, editing, and just as importantly if I would read the book more then twice more less once.
This is the last Phoenix Pack novel and it did not disappoint. I'd been waiting so long to see how Dominic would be when he found his mate and how his pack would get their payback for all the cheesy lines he used in their mates. Suzanne gives us a deeper look into Dominic's past and really shows us why he is the way he is. Also that although we all read the books and love the packs we still only ever glimpsed the surface of Dominic and made a lot of assumptions.
I loved seeing that Dominic fell for someone who required him to actually show himself and can go toe to toe retiring his cheesy lines (and yes there are some more memorable ones in this book).
Thank you to Netgalley who provided an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
