Broken With You is a great fit for readers who enjoy romance stories about spouses reuniting and dealing with unexpected pregnancies, all wrapped in a suspenseful undercover plot with an amnesia twist.
At first, i disliked the book, up til around 17%. Then it actually started to get interesting and i liked the two main characters Mason & Denise alot. The Author did an amazing job describing and holding me there to continue the story. Normally i don`t enjoy cover agent-stories but this one i really liked! Because it wasn`t always about it, and it wasn`t boring. I kind of needed to know what was going to happen between the two main characters, and really loved the pace. That said, it felt a bit, short? it could have been longer to explore Mason`s memory loss, that it would come slowly back and we`d see more of that. But oh well!

I read the short story setting this up and I was really excited to read this title. I loved the idea of the woman who hadn't seen her husband for years, because he is undercover, and then getting to see him again. I thought this was a really interesting story to tell.
Unfortunately, it fell flat for me and I was never really all that engaged with the story or the characters. It wasn't what I was expecting, which wasn't the issue, as I understand that not all stories will play out as I want...but, unfortunately, while the way this story was told was interesting, it didn't really work for me.
I am not able to recommend this title.
J. Kenner is an amazing Storyteller! Every single book I read of hers is great! Can't wait for her next book!!
This story was not quite what I expected. I was thinking romance and although it was there is was more of mystery and languished love. At the start you are not quite sure where it is going. A man with no memory of his life and his wife and friends being forced to not tell him anything about his past. Many times I just wanted to say 'tell him already' but could not. Then I was expecting more courting between the main characters, but it escalated quickly and he figured out who she was, even though he did not remember. It was a good story and an easy read, just not what I was expecting.
Absolutely adored this book. Read it within one sitting I couldn't put it down. I didn't read book one so some references I didn't understand but this book can totally be a standalone.
Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion.
Elongation of the Stark series spinoff, we meet Mason and Denise in one of the most mysterious book of this series. Mason wakes up in a dingy hotel with no idea who he is but knows enough to contact his group. Denise is his wife and has been waiting two years for him to come home only this wasn’t what she bargained as their homecoming.
What did I like? Unique idea and definitely a page turner. It was fun to see Masons inner turmoil toward Denise, when they couldn’t tell him who he was since they thought it would trigger a identity meltdown.
Would I buy this book? Yep, I’m a fan of the series! I enjoyed it and the author always has reasonable prices.
Thoughts for the author? Love the unique idea, don’t see many stories like this one. Thanks for allowing me a copy.
Broken with you is told in dual POV normally this isn’t the type of book I like to read but this story was different, Denise is waiting for the return of the husband she knows and loves to come back form a mission that he is on, but all that changes when her husband is back... but hasn’t returned to her.
Mason & Denise’s relationship becomes a quest to find out how to release the information that’s being kept hidden!!
Will Denise and Masons relationship get back to what it was before??
In “Broken With You” (Stark Security #2) by J. Kenner we are thrown into the lives of Denise and Mason. When Mason’s undercover operation goes bad and he turns up with no memory of who he is or anything about his life it takes all the training and love Denise has for him to not fall apart. But when things turn dangerous it will take all they both have to survive.
You do get to see a lot of the characters from the Stark books (which I loved) but this can be read as a standalone. Another J Kenner must read. I received a copy of this book through Net Galley and this is my honest review
Another fantastic heart-wrenching read by J. Kenner. Good story building and great characters make this a winning book. ENjoyed it.
In the 2nd book of the series, Mason wakes up with no memory of who he is and how he got that way. Denise’s only hope is to help him find his way back, but they quickly learn that trust is a fragile thing to have in life.
The story may qualify as a romance book, but for the most part it’s a suspenseful book. You are getting bits and pieces as to what happened to Mason that you, like him, are just trying to puzzle it all together. You feel for Denise because it’s got to be one of the hardest things for someone to do. I know if it were me, I would not have been able to do what they were asking her to do.
I like that the story is focused more on Mason’s memory loss and the bigger picture. The way that Kenner is able to have the love story between Mason and Denise as the focal point, but still has this bigger picture story going on in the background. And when you finally get to the end result you will not believe how he got there.
I can’t wait to see where Kenner takes us next.

Miss Kenner sure knows how to keep you enthralled in a story. Another amazing book by her. Looking forward to this series a lot. You do not need to read the Stark books to enjoy this one. It's a great book all on its own.
Thank you Netgalley, the author and publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The story was interesting and certainly unexpected. I enjoyed the POVs, the action and romance. It was a good read and I will look at the others in the series.
I didn't read book 1 in the Stark Security series but that wasn't really an issue with enjoying this book. What a premise, falling in love for the second time. I liked both Denise and Mason. Even with no memory of who he is, Mason is the same strong man Denise married.
How odd for Denise and the entire crew to have to pretend Mason isn't himself. I wasn't sure I believed the shrink's theory on why but it definitely added to the story. Poor Mason thinks he's having a moral dilemma falling for Denise.
I enjoyed the story, the characters and the happily ever after.
The action, drama and suspense is thrilling and constant and the characters are so well written....it gives you all the feels right till the very end......this one is a keeper! A must read!! Happy reading!!
"I can't tell Mason his name. I can't tell him our relationship." This is the position Denny (Denise) finds herself in. Her husband, Mason, has been gone on a long term, undercover assignment, for two years. Now he is back. But his memories didn't make it back with him.
Mason, not having a clue what his name is or what his life really was before his assignment, is back to a life that he doesn't know. But "meeting" Denny, he wants to definitely remember all the parts with her.
This is my first book in the Stark Security series and I really liked it! Great story, interesting characters and a exciting world I want to know more about!
This was my first reading experience with J. Kenner. Honestly I had no idea what to expect with this book and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't read the first book in the series but that didn't effect my ability to follow the story or characters.
The read was suspenseful, hot, and kept me thinking and guessing the entire time. I really liked the thrill of the chase in this read, with the main characters trying to piece together a time span of broken memories and lost identity. The top secret nature of their professions made for a delightful mysterious quality to the story line.
I really liked the two main characters, Denny and Mason. I was invested in their marriage and success and just wanted to see them get their HEA at the end. You could just feel their love and devotion to each other throughout the book, regardless of the fact that one of them couldn't remember a single thing about the other person.
This author's writing style was the perfect pace for my liking and just descriptive enough to keep me invested and wanting more.
I couldn’t wait to finish this book! It was filled with excitement and mystery and I couldn’t wait to see what happened next!
Mason works in deep cover ops for the government. His wife, Denise, also worked with them and they were partners as well. When he went on a 2 year mission, she quit her job and joined Stark Security instead. When Mason comes back, he has no memories of his previous life, and no one is supposed to tell him anything for fear of causing him serious mental damage. He still has an attraction to Denise, but doesn’t want to act in it since she’s married. She can’t tell him she’s his wife. Although she can be with him again, it’s difficult not being able to “be” with him.
As Mason starts navigating his new life, an ominous person or people are targeting Denise and Mason to get back what he took on his mission. Will Mason get his memories back in time?
Very good writing, character development, and excellent plot to keep you flipping pages! I received an arc from Netgalley for my honest review.
This ARC was courtesy of netgalley - all thoughts and opinions are mine and unbiased
I've read a few of J Kenner's books and was thrilled to be able to read an advanced copy of this - it didn't disappoint
Lots of twists and turns - this kept me on the edge of my seat throughout
A great summer read
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
I was so glad that book two was Denise and Mason’s story! I really wanted Denise to get her HEA after reading book one and the prequel. Denise and Mason are partners and and soulmates. Mason is away on a mission and even though he’s been gone for a long time, Denise does not believe that this will shake their marriage. They are unbreakable. That is, until he walks back into her life and has no idea who he is. He’s lost his memories and Denise is heartbroken. She has to keep his identity a secret from him until he can remember it on his own. When forces threaten their lives in order to retrieve the information in Mason’s mind, they must work together and their new relationship will be tested.
I really liked this story. I enjoyed Mason and Denise navigating their way through their new relationship. Denise shows tremendous strength throughout the entire book. She has some major things she has to keep from Mason in order to aid in his recovery. This book is full of suspense and pulls you right in and doesn’t let go until the end. Great book and great storyline. I enjoyed the mention of previous characters from the Stark Series.
