Another Erica Ridley book that I thoroughly enjoyed! Lady Felicity is trying to find an acceptable husband who can fund her dreams of starting a children's foundation. Instead, she finds Giles, a coach smith who let her be exactly who she wanted to be. Sweet story!

Found this to be really a fun read. Lady Felicity may have grown up in a smithy and learned all there is to know about being a mechanic, but now she's part of the Ton and must marry well, even if she doesn't want to. Giles Langford "The Curricle King" is a God behind the reins of any chariot, sure to win... until he loses his heart to "Felix" aka Lady Felicity.

There's some angsty competitiveness between the two, some suspicion, Felicity’s meddling brother of a Duke - who brings them together initially and of course, a HEA. It starts off with the rivalry and an attraction but slow burn. But the passion builds by the end.

Felicity had picked out a husband at the ball, one that was worthy to be the BIL of a Duke, as well as one that would allow her some leeway in her life and support her charity of helping foundling children. Giles runs the best smithy in London, where he trains the youth so they'll never want. He's not looking for a wife, but one finds him.

There's a race that Giles must win for the Duke - and Felicity must get the curricle ready to take on any challengers.... who will win? Will Felicity marry Lord Raymore and become a Marchioness? Or will she toss that dream aside and end up with Giles in the smithy?

Lady Felicity Sutton, sister of a Duke, yearns for something more. When her brother asks Giles Langford, a handsome well-known blacksmith to better his carriage for a race; Giles will not refuse. Unfortunately, Giles is not prepared for everything the Duke asks especially when the Duke makes one concession to have his sister Felicity as a mechanic and one to also work on the racing carriage along with Giles. Giles is at first apprehensive to let Felicity and a lady work alongside him. Felicity surprises Giles at every turn and even knows about carriages. As the race approaches Giles wants more than anything to tell Felicity how he really feels but being a lady he knows that she is out of his league. In truth Felicity also likes Giles but knows she can’t be with him either. Will Giles and Felicity find a way despite being from different lifestyles to be together or is the relationship doomed before it’s even started?
This fun regency romantic story brings two unlikely people from different lifestyles, a lady and a blacksmith together. The writing is light and fresh really not adhering too much of the regency standards but if you can look past all of that it’s really a nice book. The author even writes well bringing some of the characters and scenes alive so it’s not hard to imagine each scenario either. Even when you read these stories out of order from the series it isn’t hard to understand and they can even stand alone without any problems. Unfortunately, Felicity does have a back story is told in small snippets so we never learn her whole history. It also makes one wonder how her brother even became a Duke when obviously they both came from humble origins. Giles is just the perfect hero benevolent, loyal and noble that he’s one hard not to fall for. He’s got everything the perfect family; everyone loves him and just a whole group of people following him too. No wonder Felicity fell for him that in a lot ways it would have been nice if he could have been inducted as a gentlemen just so they could be together. Still the story is so sweet and lovely that it’s just such a good read!

I wasn't crazy about this book, but I liked historicals and I enjoy the wicked dukes so I read this one because I am anxious to get to the next one which is darcy's..But back to this, I didn't like Felicity, I liked her cause, I liked that she had a purpose but given how she grew up (hence the cause) she probably shouldn't have been so stuck on finding someone with a title..We have the other main character Giles and honestly he is the one that saved the book for me however I just didn't feel the romance..

I loved reading about Lady Felicity who was much happier being herself rather than pretending to be what everyone expected of the sister to a duke. Giles took everything in stride when meeting her and although she was a member of the upper class, he accepted her as she is and didn’t treat her any differently, nor did she treat Giles as any less. The back and forth between these two had a number of humorous moments and I really wanted Felicity to chose Giles and love over marrying a peer with money/property.

This is a must read for anyone who wants to discover the winner in the end... Lady Felicity or Lord Felix

Amusing, engaging and well written and it kept my interest. However, I had to read this with a grain of salt, as it felt more modern than historical - especially the dialogue and the casual interactions and banter between the H/h. A female carriage mechanic that was also a dukes’ sister? I can understand why Felicity could have done this though, as she was brought up on the streets and in a Smithy, but she's trying to catch a duke or earl. She should have been home to take callers shouldn't she?

Not sure when the book was set, but if it was in the Regency, I question a lot of things. Brown paper to wrap food in, for one. Also a 'lady' going about without a maid. Apples available during the spring/early summer of the season - stuff like that. Anyway, I did enjoy the story and the sweet romance (which was insta-love I have to warn) and will read more from this author. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

One Night To Remember by Erica Ridley

Felicity at 24 needed to marry well and keep her place in society. She wanted to create a Foundation for Impoverished Children and help any children that needed it. She and her brother, Cole, who is now a duke, have a secret past. Felicity is very good at fixing curricles, this is something that a woman shouldn’t know how to do. She must give it up. She meets Giles Langford, who is an expert at racing the curricles and fixing them. He has his own shop. They fall in love. How can Felicity give up her dream of helping children? This was such a wonderful love story that I didn’t want to end. Erica Ridley, the author does know how to keep ones interest.

I love these characters! A strong heroine makes everything so interesting because they get into so many adventures. This series has had great characters throughout and I will hate to see it end but I will be on the lookout for more great books from Erica Ridley in the future.

Look, sometimes you’re just in the mood for s cheesy historical romance novel and that’s okay. It won’t be a bestseller and it won’t have literary merit, but it’s enjoyable and quick and itches the spot.

I didn’t realize this one was part of a series, but you needn’t have read the previous books in order to enjoy this book. Felicity is a whizz at being a mechanic for her brothers racing carriages, but being at the ripe old age of 24, she knows it’s time to settle down and start being a respectable lady. For one last hurrah she works with her brother’s friend, Giles aka the “Curricle King”, to get her brother’s carriage ready for the biggest race of her secret career. But of course, feelings start to form between her and Giles and she must decide between marrying for love or marrying for money.

I thought this book was fine and enjoyable. I absolutely flew through it and I loved the slight feminist hints sprinkled throughout the novel. But if you’ve read one historical romance, you’ve read them all ya know?

A fun and lovely novella, where the odds are against the characters but yet love prevailed at the end. Wonderful main characters in a good setting we were familiar with. I enjoyed that the non-aristocrat hero and the background story for the heroine as well

I have read a few Erica Ridley books in the past and all of them have been good. This book is no different. The hero, Giles, is not titled; however, he is highly regarded as being the fastest wipe around. Felicity, the heroine, is trying to marry a rich and powerful lord who will let her use her dowry so that she can fund her charity foundation.

Felicity was not originally from the ton and she had a hard childhood. She has a mechanical mind and likes to use it to build better carriages. She makes mechanical changes and takes care of her brother’s, who is a duke, carriages. Felicity’s brother enters into a wager regarding a carriage race. Felicity’s brother wants Felicity to make mechanical changes to his carriage and to work with Giles, who is a smithy and carriage racer. They are “forced” to work together and they work together without much problems.

Ms. Ridley did a good job in regards to how she had Giles and Felicity interact with each other. Giles made Felicity, feel like she could be her true self without being looked down upon for her unfeminine interests. Felicity really wants to be herself and live life that way, but she can not see how she can do that and be able to accomplish her children’s foundation. Ultimately love wins out. Felicity and Giles marries and she still is able to accomplish her goals.

this was a quick read and fun at times. I think I was expecting more since she worked on carriages but seem to fall flat. overall it was a nice addition to the series.

Felicity Sutton is the sister of a Duke. She has had her 6th coming out season and really must marry well by the end of the season. In this unusual story she will have to choose a life of luxury or a life with local whip Giles Langford notorious for being the best carriage rider in the country but with no title. You will enjoy the journey Felicity takes which takes her back to a previous life in a smithy and to be the best carriage mechanic.

Lady Felicity Sutton is the sister of the Duke of Colehaven. Before when they were small, life had been so hard. Their parents were dead and they only had each other. They lived on the streets and Rockeries. Food was very scarce, no roof over their heads and clothes were in short supply. Then her brother was the heir to a dukedom. Their life changed. Colehaven had found the love of his life but Felicity was looking. She wanted to marry for love but the poor children had nothing. If she married a titled man she could set up a charity to help them.
Giles Langford was a coachsmith and a fantastic whip. He was known as the Curricle King, he did not lose races. He had his own forge and had taken it over from his father. He also hung out at the Wicked Duke.
This is a delightful story. I loved the devotion between brother and sister. The duke only wanted the very best for Felicity and would do all in his power to make it happen. The author has written a rather complex tale. It is so entertaining and the characters are fun-loving and seem to love to gamble, drink and have a generally good time. It kept your attention and reading until you are done with the book. It is a novel for persons over 18, gets a little sexy.
I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.

Really enjoyed this book and the characters. They were the right mix of unrealistic in finding love and realistic in having issues in their lives.

I'm a fan of Erica Ridley, and her books are usually 3/4 star territory for me, but One Night to Remember didn't quite get there.

I'm pretty open to, shall we say flexibility, in my historical romance. I'm not one who is a stickler for historical accuracy, and I'm very go with the flow about most things. However, One Night to Remember really had me scratching my head. A sister of a duke who moonlights as a blacksmith... um, okay? I might have been just fine with that if the romance was phenomenal, but it was very lackluster for me.

Erica Ridley's books never have any heat, but her best ones have insane chemistry. This one didn't. I just never felt the pull between the two MCs, and I had a hard time buying their romance. The lack of heat didn't help, but it was really the dialogue and that something that was missing that made the romance fall flat for me.

I know Erica Ridley can do better than this one, and though I can see that most of my fellow readers enjoyed this, I wanted something more.
