A Valiant Prince by SE Rose is another beautifully written Romantic Suspense romance in Poisoned Pawn series and it's really good. A Page turning read even.
Love the series and Highly recommend it to all.
Some princes are born into royalty. And some princes are made into royalty. Logan Winters just discovered that he’s a prince, a prince that someone wants dead. When Princess Susanna came waltzing into his world, she took his breath away with her beauty and charm and also with the truth about his life. Now they are racing against time to find out who wants to kill him. Will they be able to stop a killer? Or will their discovery bring down not one throne but two?
Unaware at the time that it was a sequel.
It is important to note that this one book is a sequel, not a standalone, and it drops you right where the other one left off, with no preamble. I think it will be interesting for those who read the first book, to see what happened. That said, I would have preferred to read the whole story in one book, to keep my interest up.
Chamring writing and fast pace. I totally recommend this book to fans of the genre. I loved the twists and TURNS. I recommend it.

I had a problem with this from the beginning, although part of the problem could be that I wasn’t aware that it was a sequel. DNF
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
I hadn’t realized that this was a sequel when I had requested it which may have been the cause of my confusion, however there was a large amount of characters that made it difficult to keep up.
I really enjoyed this duet and would definitely recommend it for the Romance readers out there. I am now off to see what else this author has written.
I made the mistake of not reading book 1, A Fierce Princess so I was at a disadvantage.
Nevertheless, there were a lot of characters and the plot seemed to be all over the place.
I loved Logan/ Eddie in the first book but reading the second in his POV made me love him even more. Logan had so many earth shattering changes in what he believed was his reality it was amazing he kept his composure so well and the way he treated and loved Anna was amazing.i was relieved when they finally discovered whodunnit.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the 2nd part of the story. There is no introduction to remind you of what happened. I think it would read better if you have read part 1. I had not. I did enjoy the book once I figured out a few things. It's cute, and fun, has drama and suspense. Entertaining and interesting. Anna was a bit dumb at the end and really out of character. Overall a good read 4 stars.
3.75 stars
I loved book 1 A Fierce Princess and was looking forward to A Valiant Prince, here's my review.
Book 1 is told from Anna's POV, and book 2 is from Logan's but somehow it didn't flow as easily for me as Anna's book.
The storyline picks up from where it ended in book 1 and yep it was a bit of a cliffy. This part had a lot going on, lots of characters to keep track of, especially if you were trying to figure out who the bad person was! Intermingled with that was Logan and Anna's relationship, which jumped from fun and flirty on a yacht to pretty serious very quickly, maybe a tad too quickly for me, but that's how the events in the story through them. They are good together though, but could do with going on a few more fun dates as tough as that is as a royal!
Part of backstory puzzled me, how did they not recognize each other as Suzie and Eddie, we all change as we grow but some characteristics stay the same.
So yes I had a couple of issues with the conclusion of this story BUT it was still made me turn pages to find out who did it and how the lovebirds end up.
I would be interested to see if the author decided to write one or both of the brother's love story.
I really enjoyed this a great follow up to the first book, which ended on a cliffhanger so I was so happy to receive his arc. This resolved the unanswered questions from the first book and leaves is with a HEA by the end, it’s a great story, I love Logan and Anna, but I felt sometimes it was over explainedand the reader was told rather than experienced the story themselves and some scenes were just awakened. I think if this were improved it would be even better
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
If you´ve been following along you know that A Fierce Princess (part one) left us in a major cliffhanger. A Valiant Prince picks up right where Princess left off. This one is in Logan´s POV and it is just as amazing if not more than Part 1. Logan and Anna´s relationship grows stronger in this part even while their lives fall apart around them. There are so many twists and turns added to the mystery of who is after the royal families that it will keep you guessing. Trust me. I didn´t expect what happened but I´m glad it did. I couldn´t put this book down. I hope there will be more books in this universe because I fell in love with the characters both main and secondary and don´t want to let them go. I highly recommend this duet and will be keeping a close eye on what SE Rose gives us next.
I'm going to leave a scathing review and i'm going to apologize for it.

The blurb was promising, the story was not.
It had so much potential, but i felt it went down the drain with awful writing and plotline.
Every action was described and nothing was left untouched, and there were way too many dialogues.
Alright, maybe the amount of dialogue was fine, however the content was so, so dry. And as well, i felt that too much "he said" and "she said" and similar words of different variations were used. Understandably, yes, it's dialogue, however, the repetition of these verbs makes the writing seem very unnatural.
There are more "telling" than "showing" in here.
Additionally, there were some really awkward lines as well. But, i'm just going to share one.
Exhibit A:Your father, the king, is fine.
The character would know who their father is, and what he does. There wasn't a need to state "the king". The only circumstance why i can think of that makes that excusable is that the doctor is trying to re-affirm himself. Even then, what for?
Frankly, I felt the book was a let down since page one. This boiled down to personal preference, and is especially personal as the prologue was written from the first POV of a child...and I disliked it. It felt like an indication the story wasn't going to be a trip i'm glad i'm going on. Certain lines from this chapter contains vocabulary that a child likely wouldn't use, which results in it coming off a bit bizarre. If it had been told from a third POV, it would've been quite nice.
The smut scenes were quite odd as well, off-putting if you will. Every movement was greatly exaggerated, dicks of steel, explosions, nipple pinch orgasms, i found it rather hilarious. This sort of sexy smut is not up my alley. But hey, if you like it, you do you. And also, you might like this book!
2.5. I'd give it a 1 but i liked the cover and the sexy scenes.
Really liked the book, Overall it was perfect !!! I liked the plot and the characters especially the chemistry between the two romantic characters. Highly recommend it to read.
I absolutely did not realize this was a sequel, but after I had already received the book, I knew I wanted to see if I could read this without reading the first part, since a lot of romance-y novels don't require you to do so. Unfortunately, for me, there were too many people to keep track of and important story-lines I missed in the first one. I will definitely read the first in this series and come back to this! The story was really interesting and I thought it was fun, I just didn't know what created all of this!
A Valiant Prince had a lot to live up to after reading A Fierce Princess! I was desperate for the conclusion of Susanna and Logan’s story, as they seemed destined for tragedy. I was not disappointed; book two was everything I hoped for and more.
Susanna’s bravery and persistence is nothing short of admirable. I’m convinced Susanna could slay dragons if she put her mind to it! A damsel in distress she is not, despite the fact she is clearly in peril.
Logan is valiant and caring and practically perfect in every way. Despite being thrust into life-threatening danger, he handles each situation with nerves of steel. He is a rock of fortitude.
The plot is angst ridden and suspenseful. I read until my eyes went blurry and I could read no more. I was positively mesmerized. I needed the conclusion, yet I never wanted the book to end.
This Poisoned Pawn duet was my first introduction to SE Rose’s writing. It was absolutely phenomenal. I have already begun pestering my friends to read this outstanding duet!
This is the second book in The Poisoned Pawn Duet, it takes up where A Fierce Princess finishes.
There is absolute chaos after the explosion and it seems the danger is getting worse. With most of the family safe, Anna is convinced that the culprit is someone from their inner circle.
With their security team on full alert, the Royal family must leave the safety of the Palace and go in different directions to try to distract whoever is trying to eliminate them. Anna and Logan's relationship is getting stronger and Logan must come to terms that he is Royalty also and the target is not only on his back but everyone else in the Royal family.
This is a good read and there are definitely some twists that you don't see coming with a HEA ending.
Thanks to NetGalley and Author Collective 20 for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Told from Logan's point of view, this story meshes well with the first book. A good story with lots of action that kept me reading late into the night. Overall a wonderful read. I received an e-book from NetGalley in return for an unbiased review.
To start things off, I didn’t realize this was book II of the The Poisoned Pawn Duet series and for obvious reasons, this wouldn’t be considered a standalone. From page one I was completely lost as to who the characters were, Princess Susanna and Prince Logan possible romantic relationship, and who was out to get them. There were no author notes nor disclaimer stating this, and due to me being unaware the “A Valiant Prince” was the sequel of the “The Fierce Princess”, it was a no brainer that I decided to drop this later to pick it back up later once reading the first novel. From what I have read so far, “A Valiant Prince” seems like a promising read and I look forward to re-reading this back again in the future.
