Good, but not my favorite of her books. This was quick diversion for a summer afternoon, with plenty of steam. It almost felt like a second book, because of everything that was going on with her brothers. I get that the other two books will deal with them, and are supposed to concurrent, but it ended up feeling like too much was going on without enough info. Still, I will read the next in the series.
I am never disappointed by this author. She just knows how to perfectly write romantic suspense. This first book in a new trilogy is packed full of action, suspense, romance, drama, and twists. There is a lot going on that sets up the next books in the trilogy and has the reader anxiously waiting for more. The characters are complex, interesting, and intriguing. The plot is fast paced and keeps you turning pages. I had to finish it in one sitting. I could not put it down. I can't wait to see what happens next!
This was a great start to the series, just enough danger and action but still with a good hint of romance and great characters.
BISHOP'S KNIGHT is one of those books that you just don't want to end. There is action, danger, intrigue, twists and turns and a good hit of steamy yet sweet romance all rolled into the pages. The emotional roller coaster will have you holding on for dear life as you delve into the past where Evie and Dylan first connected and now as they work together to solve parts of the danger to her and her friends.

Evie Bishop was hoping for some quiet time at home after leaving her high stress, high danger job behind her. But when she returns she finds one brother in a coma and the other on the run, wanted for murder. When danger shows up on her doorstep, she is forced to turn to the only man she can trust.
Dylan Blackwood knows Evie was more than the socialite she wanted everyone to believe when they dated. But when she turned down his proposal, she shattered his heart. Now that she’s on his doorstep asking for help, he can’t forget the pain she caused even as he struggles with the need to protect her.
Dylan’s resources make him both a formidable ally and foe. He may not have the same training or authorization as Evie, but he is also trained to be tactical and lethal. He is a very rounded character, with many strengths and few weaknesses. He may not know everything that is going on, but he will do everything in his power to keep Evie safe, whether she likes his methods or not.
I loved the tension as Dylan and Evie worked together, determining how much to trust and let in the other this time around. Evie knows the whole story about why she walked away from his proposal, but Dylan is in the dark and as such was blindsided by her refusal. Evie’s secrets mean Dylan thinks she needs more protection than she really does, and causes some power struggles as he tries to make decisions without considering what she would want. His motive is always her safety.
The entire Bishop family has trouble brewing, and though this is a standalone the brothers are introduced and teased as part of Evie’s book. Though Evie and Dylan’s story is complete, there is enough teased that I am looking forward to seeing what happens for Evie’s brothers as the series continues with Bishop’s Queen and Bishop’s Endgame.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
This was such a great beginning to a new trilogy! Katie Reus knows exactly how to grab her readers and she did that from the very start, and didn't let go.
I loved that there were multiple storylines going on. Evie's siblings are interesting and I'm looking very forward to the next book(s).
I really loved everything about this book, from start to finish: characters, plot, suspense, romance--a perfect blend of all. Thank you for the advanced copy!
Fast paced suspense that keeps you on your toes! I couldn’t stop flipping the pages on this book and thoroughly loved the ride! I can’t wait to read more from this series!
Bishop's Knight was great from beginning to end! I loved Dylan. He was the best! I look forward to the next book of the Endgame Trilogy!
I voluntarily read and reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
Katie Reus has written a romantic suspense with all the right ingredients in the first book in her new series, Bishop's Knight. It's packed with page-turning suspense, intrigue, action, and of course steamy romance. Evie Bishop is a strong bold and daring female protagonist when danger comes knocking at her door. Dylan makes the perfect counterpart as the lovable but also tough former military male hero. They have a past, now suddenly they have a present but can they have a future.
Great to catch a glimpses of some former characters in other series. I especially loved the ending to Bishop's Knight! Did I mention, it is a riveting page-turning read? Great introduction into the family of the Bishops. Can’t wait for the next book. This has become my favorite Reus romantic suspense series.
The past doesn’t always stay where it belongs – in the past. Evie learned that firsthand when an old friend who had worked on a CIA op with her shows up at her door shot, and with a dire message. Thus begins BISHOP’S KNIGHT and it does not slow down from this moment onward in one fashion or another.
Most of what you need to know is in the Cover Description. What you don’t yet know is that your heart will be pounding throughout Dylan’s and Evie’s story. Second chances don’t come along every day but this one Dylan is going to grab for several reasons. Foremost he wants answers. Then he’ll decide if he can ever trust this woman he once gave his heart to again. Evie has so much on her plate between the current danger, her brothers troubles and knowing that if she is to have the slightest second chance with Dylan she’ll have to tell him the truth – the entire truth, and that scares her senseless.
BISHOP’S KNIGHT is fast-paced, dangerous, intriguing and intense in so many ways. It also sets up the continuation of the trilogy with an ending that will slide right into the next story. No cliffhanger, just knowing that you’ll find even more answers and maybe questions in BISHOP’S QUEEN is enough to keep an eye out for that release in the Fall.
I had an intense, enjoyable time with this story. It kept my attention, gave me interesting characters (and some old friends), and produced a story that captures the imagination to the point of needing more — which is the rest of the trilogy. If you love Romantic Suspense, then this one is for you.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Bishop's Knight is the first book in the Endgame Trilogy by Katie Reus. The books will feature the Bishop siblings. Our heroine is the only girl of the family and works for the CIA. Now she is back and tries to prove that her brother is innocent. Well, at least that's the plan until one of her friends arrives after someone shot her, so the plan changes and she has to find who is after her friend. None of her work can be on record and so she goes to her (rich) ex to ask for help. Dylan is not willing to let her go once again, but there is a chance he might once he finds out the secret Evie has been keeping from him.
In some moments, I felt like I hadn't begun a new series and that I was reading the second book. All the siblings have a lot of things going on and this book didn't make me feel like it was an introduction to those problems. Evan was in a coma after an explosion and the other brother is wanted by the police. And that was my only problem with the book. Feeling like I began a series from the middle. Otherwise, I would have been completely in love with the book. I liked the couple and I also liked Evie's character. She might not be honest from the beginning, but she had a reason to lie and I always believed that her feelings for Dylan were real.
I wasn't sure whose story I wanted to read the most next. Both brothers have interesting things going on in their lives and I wanted to see them happy. Evan is in a bad emotional place at the moment and he is trying to push his fiance away because he feels she deserves better than him. There is a lot of angst coming up. I am glad they are the next couple because the waiting would have killed me. After they fix their relationship all the couples can help the other sibling prove that he is innocent. I have a feeling that his lady will be the key to that, though.
If I can recall correctly both characters were celibate after their separation which is a plus. I would recommend the book and I hope that the books will be as good or even better than this one.
Bishop’s Knight
by Katie Reus
Bishop’s Knight is the first installment in the new Endgame trilogy by Katie Reus. In this trilogy we are going to meet the Bishop siblings. The siblings, Evan the oldest is a business man. The middle child is Ellis an agent with the DEA, Evangeline is the youngest and an agent with the CIA.
In this story we find all three of the siblings in trouble. But this story highlights Evie, wrapping up a mission, and heading back home for a new mission. It’s this mission that she meets and uses Dylan Blackwood as an asset, unfortunately she falls in love with him. After completing the Jensen op, Evie retires from the CIA and walks out of Dylan’s life.
But the Jensen op is coming back to haunt her and Samara. And the only person that can help is her ex Dylan. Dylan is ex-Marine working in the mega rich Real Estate industry. He had also proposed to Evie, but was shot down. Together Dylan and Evie work through finding clues and solving why Samara was being targeted and closing the case. A new issue arrived when Dylan learns he was a mark for Evie to get information for the Jensen op. Will their love overcome the harshest lie by Evie?
Be sure to pick up this book, the suspense will keep you captivated to the end!

I love Katie Reus as an author and am so excited for this new series. Bishops Knight is the first in a series about 3 siblings, and Evie Bishop has the first story. This book is romantic suspense at its best, and Ms. Reus does such a good job with this genre. Evie and Dylan were a fun couple to read about. The secondary characters, especially Samara, Finn, and Leo were almost as fully developed as the main characters and this story had a really good plot. It was great seeing two strong female characters. I am looking forward to the next two books in this series!
Katie Reus wastes no time in cranking up the action in the opener to her Endgame Trilogy, introducing us to the Bishop siblings and setting up what I’m hopeful is going to be another great series from her.
“...she knew she made the world a better place. That a whole lot of people were alive and free because of her.”
First in line is the youngest and only girl, Evie, former CIA agent and about to be reacquainted with the man she left broken-hearted, Dylan Blackwood. And with plenty left unsaid and unresolved between them, their love-story is far from over.
“You’re going to tell me all your secrets.”
Fast paced, romantic and with no shortage of twists and turns, Bishop’s Knight was exactly what I’d hoped for and with the wheels set in motion for Evan and Isla’s story, I’m excited to see what‘s next. For any fan of kick-arse ladies, men who are just the right amount of alpha, a good romantic suspense, the author or all of the above, don’t hesitate in grabbing this.
Katie Reus is a one click author for me. Her heriones are always sassy, independent, and strong. As her hero's are always sexy, OTT alpha, and always gone for his woman. I love her books and loved Bishop's Knight. It was a great beginning to a new series and filled with action, suspense, and lots of sexy time. I can't wait for the next book, so please hurry up Katie, please!!!

This is book 1 in the Endgame Trilogy. I was so heartbroken when the Redemption Harbor series ended but Katie Reus doesn't disappoint with this brand new series! In this one we are introduced to Evie Bishop and Dylan Blackwood. Evie and Dylan were together until Dylan proposed to her. But when she needs help, she knows that he will help no matter what happened in their past. Evie must find out who is after not only her teammates but herself, all while trying to keep Dylan at a distance so he doesn't find out her secrets. She doesn't realize exactly how stubborn and determined Dylan truly is. Or what he will do for those people that he cares about.
I absolutely loved this first book! Evie is such a kick butt woman and I loved everything about her! From her love of her family to what she feels she owes to people that need it. I loved every aspect of her! Dylan is exactly the type of man I love! Alpha, protective, but not afraid to show someone he loves them or that he has been hurt. Then you throw in the side characters and I loved it even more! And I know it's only supposed to be a trilogy but I really would love to have stories about her teammates and some of their friends!! Loved it and I can't wait for the next book!!
Katie Reus knows how to write romantic suspense! She nails it every.single.time and Bishop's Knight is no exception. This is a terrific start to the Endgame Trilogy and judging by the flow of the writing, the development of the characters and the depth of the plot, this is going to be an incredible series. I loved Evie -- another strong, independent, smart woman that makes me proud to be a female. But I have to say that I adored Dylan from the moment he stepped off the page - swoony, sexy, passionate and protective. I also enjoyed the sub-plot of getting to know Evie's brother, Evan, and his fiance, Isla -- I know I'm going to love their story in the next book. If you're looking for romantic suspense, I highly recommend Katie Reus -- you can't go wrong. Excellent 5+ star read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
4 1/2 stars. This is an awesome new romantic suspense from Katie Reus! Once I started reading I couldn't put it down until I was finished. What a great start to a new series with this fantastic story that grabbed me from the get-go and held on throughout!! I can't wait for more!! The characters are wonderful and the chemistry between Evie & Dylan is amazing. They have a second chance for an HEA and they go for it! I really enjoyed this book!
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC!
At first, he was just an asset, someone to use to get to the person she needed to meet. Then, he became someone important to her, someone she could love. What if he finds out that she lied to him? Evie Bishop is a CIA operative and it’s vital that she completes the mission. Dylan Blackwood is a wealthy and amazing man and when her good friend is shot, he is the only one that she knows can help her. Evie’s life is in turmoil. Her one brother, Ellis, has been framed for murder and is on the run while her other brother, Evan, lies in a coma after being injured in an explosion. Someone is killing off the members of her team and she needs to find out who and put them out of business. An exciting and thrilling romantic suspense as Dylan soon realizes that this time, he will do everything he can to keep Evie in his life and protect her. I so enjoy reading about strong female characters that handle the danger when threatened. This is the first book in the “End Game” series and I look forward to the next two books.
