Bishop’s Knight by Katie Reus
4.5 stars.
A hot contemporary romance. First in a trilogy.
Spy games galore in the Bishop family. Twists and turns and multiple agency intrigue.
First up is Evie Bishop. Formerly of the CIA, she and a coworker are now being targeted by an unknown assailant. They take refuge with Dylan Blackwood, the man Evie left behind when he proposed marriage. While tracking down the shooter, Evie will also need to come clean with Dylan. Her feelings for him haven’t diminished and she wants to tell him the truth about who she is.
Told with several backstory events, this steamy romance is non stop action and endangerment. A strong and smart female that uses her best assets to protect and serve.
Dylan is swoon worthy. Beyond the great abs, he is supportive and most importantly, let’s Evie work her investigation without interference. He finds her sexy carrying a gun.
Next up, the brother who was in a coma from a bombing incident or the brother on the run for killing his DEA partner? Whichever one, I’m looking forward to the thrill ride.
I received a copy of this from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.
Another amazing Katie Reus book and this time a whole new series, was I excited going into this book, you bet ! Katie didn’t let me down at all, so much so when I finished I need the next two books immediately !. Evie is a great lead, a strong woman and so interesting. There is great chemistry and a lot of fun reading this , another great Katie Reus read.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
This is the start of a whole new series from the very talented Katie Reus I have read most of her series and she is definitely a favourite author for me and this looks like it is going to be another corker of a series.
Evie is CIA and six months earlier she used she used Dylan Blackwood to get in contact with her target what she didn't expect was to fall in love with him in the process When he asked her to marry him her guilt overtook her and she walked away from the only man she had ever loved. Now they are back together as she has had to go to him for help when a target is placed on her back Can this alpha ex military male be the one to save her now she is no longer CIA and will he forgive her for using him. You will have to read to see Now I am hanging out for the other two Bishop siblings books the two brother of Evie, Evan and Ellis.
I have been reading titles by Katie Reus, on and off for about a year. Normally its was single titles or coming in on a series that was just about done. It was refreshing to come into a series when the foundation is still new. In Bishop Knight, we are taking on a journey about the Bishop’s family. Out of the gates first is Evie Bishop.
Who is Evie Bishop? If this question was put to Dylan Blackwood, he would answer that she was the woman he loved. And still does. But did he really know her…
Evie Bishop was a mystery to many people. With a last successful op, she can now live a normal life, or so she thought. A mysterious figure has stepped up the game. One by one, people from her old team are being slain. Now, she is back in the game, but for now, she needs someone she can trust…to stand by her side. Enter Dylan Blackwood, she knows that she hurt him, however, she didn’t have any choice…with her on the hunt, will she be able to have that second chance, or will the hunter become the hunted.
Bishop’s Knight was a fantastic way to begin a series. It was one I couldn’t put down no matter how I tried. In this, we made Evie Bishop’ siblings and it too, seems their book will also be a page-turner. I can’t wait to read the next book in the Endgame Trilogy.
Ex CIA Agent Evie Bishop has a lot on her plate, one of her brothers is in a coma after being caught in an explosion while the other has been accused of murder and is currently on the run from the police. The last thing she needs is any extra stress but when an old colleague turns up on her doorstep with a gunshot wound and tells her that members of an op they both worked on are being picked off one by one Evie has no choice but to dive back into a world she'd hoped to leave behind her. There is only one person with the resources she needs that Evie can trust to have her back but considering she broke Dylan's heart by walking out on him things are about to get even more complicated.
Bishop's Knight was a great start to the Endgame Trilogy, Evie is facing danger from all angles and the only person she can turn to is her ex Dylan. It's complicated further by the fact that she's still head over heels in love with Dylan but she's been keeping a huge secret from him, not only the fact that she was an agent for the CIA but also the fact that the reason they met was because she specifically targeted him on an op. She was never supposed to get too close to Dylan, he was only meant to be her introduction to the real target, but they had an instant connection that she found impossible to ignore and it ended up becoming serious. She only walked away because she felt that Dylan didn't know the real her and that he'd never forgive her for the secrets she'd been keeping but now they're thrown back together all her feelings come flooding back.
Dylan always thought there was more to Evie than met the eye but it isn't until she comes back into his life that he realises just how much she was hiding from him. He's more than a little intrigued by the strong and capable woman he sees before him and he's determined to get their relationship back on track. First they have to figure out who is targeting Evie and her team though, someone wants her dead and unless they find out who, and put a stop to them, Evie might not have a future at all.
I already said this was a great start to the series, just enough danger and action but still with a good hint of romance and great characters. Evie and Dylan worked really well together, it helps that he's ex military himself so he's more than capable of working alongside Evie to figure out what is really going on. I also really liked what we've seen of Evie's brothers and I'm looking forward to reading their books when they publish.
Having read multiple books from Katie Reus (Redemption Harbour, RedStone and Deadly OPS) I was very excited to find a first book on a new series. The series is about the Bishop siblings: Evie, Ethan and Ellis. They are a high society family, with a lot of money. Bishop's Knight is about Evie, who walked out of the life of the man who proposed to her: Dylan Blackwood. Turns out, she had to, because she was on a secret mission and Dylan was one of her resources to get to a bad guy. It was the hardest thing she has ever done in her life. But now, a year later, with nowhere to go, she turns to him for help when her partner is shot and wounded. Ever since having turned her back on the CIA, Evie is trying to start a 'normal' life. But then her old partner turns up with some worries about old CIA agents being killed. And shortly after, she gets shot. Fearing for both their lives, Evie asks Dylan to hide them.
Dylan always wondered why the woman he loved walked away. And when she turns up a year later, all bloody and messed up, he realizes that she probably doesn't only attends charity balls. So maybe, there is more to her than he originally thought. Determined to find out why she left him a year ago, he agrees to keep her safe. As long as he gets to the truth about Evie.
Evie finds her life back in a total mess: her eldest brother, Ethan is in a coma due to an explosion which took his soon-to-be father in law's life. And her younger brother Ellis is nowhere to be found and is charged with murder. And now, someone is after her and Dylan is determined to help her and to find out why she walked out on him. Could this get any worse: well yes! Suspense, plot twists and romance. Four out of five stars from me and looking forward to the stories of Ethan and Ellis! With a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
This was a really great book. It's a romantic suspense novel, and it is a quick read. Dylan and Evie were fun and had a lot of chemistry. This book was a great start to the Endgame trilogy. The supporting characters, Evie's brothers and her best friend, will probably get there own books over the course of the series. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Evie works for the government and has been a part of black ops for years. On one particular mission, she meets Dylan and the two form a relationship. He proposes to her and she turns him down and runs. A year later, she turns up on his doorstep with a friend who's been shot and she has no where else to turn. Someone is coming for her and she needs Dylan's help. As her whole world is falling apart around her and she doesn't want to need his help. His protection comes with a price, her heart. He always knew there was more to her than the person she presented to him. Before they have a chance at their future, they have to figure out who is coming after Evie and why.
Bishop's Knight was a suspenseful and enjoyable romance book. I was really pulling for Dylan and Evie to figure out how to be together and have their happily ever after. I can't wait to read the next two books in this trilogy! I would recommend this book to a friend who enjoys romance with a side of suspense. Looking forward to reading more from this author!
Bishop’s Knight is a thrilling romantic suspense. The first in the new Endgame Trilogy this is truly a great start. Engaging characters, a fabulous support cast and a gripping story, this one has it all. I will definitely ne looking to read more and recommend you grab your copy and start reading
This is the first in a new series. This book contains everything. Romance, mystery, lots of emotion, and characters you can really like. I will be watching for the next book in this series
Awesome kick butt, sassy lady, secrets, murder, mayhem, broken hearted, alpha man trying to figure out the secrets and trying not to love still. Can he keep his heart intact and help save the one he loves. Awesome new series!!!
Bishop's Knight is the first in a thrilling new romantic suspense trilogy. This exciting tale explores what happens when you fall in love with an asset while on an op. Former CIA operative Evie Bishop is smart, sharp and still in love with real estate magnate Dylan Blackwood. When her former partner shows up with a gunshot wound Evie looks to Dylan for help. Can Dylan and Evie keep her alive and rekindle their romance? Action, intrigue and love a terrific read.
Woohoo, a new romantic suspense series by Katie Reus. What I really liked about this story is that it had a good balance of suspense and romance. Evie being the spy and Dylan an ex-military man who has gone into the private sector is a little different than most of these types of stories which sets this book apart and made it a very enjoyable read. And second chance romances, they will lure me in every time. A great beginning to the Endgame!
Amazing!
Ms. Reus has done it again! Fast paced with authentic characters and a well developed plot.
I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
This is an incredible book to read and it takes you into the story right from the first page. There are twists and turns along with danger, heartache, sadness and pain. This book is well written by Katie and I definitely recommend you read it and you will definitely not be disappointed.
Dyland and Evie's second chance romance swept me off my feet, folks. As usual, this author captivated me with a protective, caring, good guy hero and a strong, sassy heroine worthy of him and vice versa.
Evie was the picture of a highly skilled trained agent ready to answer the call of duty at a moment’s notice. Even when her family’s world is crashing and burning around her, she’s still willing to put her neck on the line for justice and to help a friend. Dylan is a threat to her heart as she lives with regret over how things ended with them. He was there for his lady love though, even when he thought they were long over.
Fate and a bad guy ultimately end up bringing these two perfect for each other lovebirds back together, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
Not surprisingly, crumbs have been dropped leading the way to two other characters getting their HEAs in future sequels. I can’t wait to see what moves these Bishop’s are going to make to win at the game of love. One in particular has a lot of kissing and making up to do, my fellow romance book loving friends, and I am so looking forward to it.

Evie Bishop has returned home to a family in turmoil. One brother is fighting for his life and another is on the run. Then her friend shows up injured and spouting conspiracy theories that could also put Evie in danger. With nowhere else to turn, she is forced to ask her ex for help.
Dylan Blackwood has not seen Evie in six months since she broke his heart and left him. He might not believe he can trust her, but he cannot stand by and see her in danger. He is wealthy, smart, resourceful, protective, and is ex-military so does not back down from fights.
Now they are on a race to figure out who the real target is and why. There are multiple possible antagonists and hidden agendas. There is danger, suspense, and real threats. But their connection and chemistry are still there. They make a great team, but it is a precarious situation. The mystery and action build to a heart-stopping climax.
But beneath all the external chaos are their personal issues. Evie still has secrets about her former life that she has been gradually sharing with him, but the most important one might be the one thing that could make him walk away.
I really loved Dylan who I thought was the complete package. He could be refined and businesslike, passionate and romantic, and also edgy and tough. And Evie is a different kind of heroine. She is strong, confident, and brave, but cares deeply about those she lets in. I enjoyed the side characters of their friends, Samara, Finn, and Leo. But I am very interested in the other Bishops' stories. Her brothers, Evan and Ellis are both dealing with significant challenges in this one and I cannot wait to delve more into their stories and their points of view.
Will be posted on blog and social media for release tour and links will go live and/or be updated then.
Fantastic story – can’t wait for the next installment of this trilogy! This one blew me away with all the emotion, frustration, and intensity from both major characters.
Evie Bishop, former CIA agent, turns to her almost fiancée to help her find out who is trying to kill her and another former teammate. With a brother on the run, and another in the hospital in a coma, she can’t turn to her family for help. Dylan Blackwood would do almost anything to get Evie to come back into his life and immediately provides whatever help he can when she shows up unannounced.
As they figure out the mystery and crimes around them, they also reveal more about themselves and why things didn’t work the first time around. Second chances mean so much more when they both are honest. Great HEA that leaves just enough unsaid.
I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for the review.
This romantic suspense did not disappoint. Evie is a heroine that you can help but love and root for. Dylan is an alpha male hero that is looking for a second chance at love with the woman who got away from him. It turns out that she was hiding secrets. Once those secrets are revealed, these two need to figure out if they will get their second chance at love. This was a great first book in the trilogy.
4.5⭐
Fast paced, full on, intriguing and exciting to read Bishop's Knight was a brilliant start to Katie Reus's new Endgame Trilogy. And with great characters, a second chance romance, riveting sub plots, plus plenty of action I was easily hooked throughout. And I'm extremely excited for whatever comes next.
Would happily recommend.
